Country First

Whenever we do an editorial chastising America for not living up to its potential, there are complaints. Complaints that I blame America first. Which is silly - I'm not "blaming" America in any particular order. I'm simply of the belief that nothing gets better until you see the problem for what it really is. Republicans have become the party of red, white and blue rose colored glasses. By drowning out criticism with USA! USA!, they prevent this country from healing itself where it needs healing, and that is the opposite of Country First. For those who disapproved of Friday's editorial about Europe and America, here are two others of similar ilk to choke on :)

Hello smart people who are down with the times. As I sit here blazed out of my mind watching the news while the stock market fluctuates I find entertainment in my frustration with the republican party. The way they are able to mislead the "Real America" is actually quite amazing. I cannot help but have an image in my mind, the November blockbuster staring McCain and Sarah drowning in a Jaws movie. Except in this movie Palin is saved by Joe the Plumber, and good ol' Johnny is taken down to the deep blue leaving a trail of republican red. I cannot help but laugh. During which Sarah and Joe are walking off into the distance to spread the word about how bad it is to share with thy neighbor. Thats funny cause the concept of whats mine is mine so fuck off has been working so well in this country. Anyway Keep on Rockin' in the Free World, my high is wearing off and I need to do something about it. Later

I am a patriot, i love this country for people being allowed to say what they want. my problem with the far left is that they don't seem to realize that the right should be allowed to voice their views as well. i am waiting for the person who says, who cares how we got here lets just fix it.

George, thanks for the advice, I don't think I will display my private info, although I don't usually mind doing that, since I think I'm pretty respectful when talking to people.
As for the interview, I actually delayed it, so it's tomorrow morning.
I've been thinking of Ayn Rand.
Even though there's something wildly attractive about this version of conservatism, because in my mind, that would correspond to no frontiers, no armies, no wars.. There's something she doesn't take into consideration : nature. Some people are born less smart, or autists or with Down's syndrom (which Mccain didn't get right about Palin's son btw :)) or even the old. How do you deal with them ? There doesn't seem to be any room for them in her vision of the world. Would that mean that they would be left to natural selection ? ie dying ?
How do you feel about that ?
On another hand, I've read some (really basic) stuff about Noam Chomsky. Am I wrong to assume he's on the same level as her ? What do you think ?

I'm sorry I'm an outsider (not american), but I just saw your comment, and since I've been following US politics since 11/09/01 : isn't Obama saying "who cares how we got here lets just fix it"? He's not criticizing all republicans, and from what I've heard, he's in touch with lots of them (chuck hagel ?), he's specifically criticizing Bush, isn't he ?
as an outsider, I feel he's the one being attacked as being muslim, a terrorist, an arab, a socialist, an extremist, a liar. Today, I watched a CNN video of the mccain campaign focussing on him being 'friendly' with some american-palestinian teacher at the university of Chicago, which would apparentely make him somehow an antit-jewish person ? I believe Bush and Cheney are friendly with the Ben Laden family ? On sept. the 11th, didn't they around 40 members of the Ben Laden family outside the US ?
I feel he's the one being attacked.
And one more thing, because this got stuck in my throat after hearing all the stupidities McCain and Palin have been throwing out there: in times of economic growth, there's a good level of consumer confidence, so there's no problem in cutting taxes for companies. It's all good.
In times of crisis, there is NO consumer confidence. Ie no consumption, ie less outcome for companies, ie job cuts. That's Obama's point.
In times of crisis, it's the smart thing to do to cut taxes on middle class (being the largest class, ie the largest category of spenders), that actually allows Mccain's dear companies to sell, keep producing,ie keeping jobs. That is not socialism in my opinion (I happen to have a BA in economics and an MBA so I'll just dare to give my opinion, if I may - although AGAIN I know I'm an outsider, so with probabbly with less oversight than you or anyone else here), that is the only way to go in times like these. It's not the middle class versus the huge corporations. The middle class IS the huge corporations' client. In times of crisis, they simply reduce consumption. The top-down approach may work very well in growth periods, but the bottom-up approach is the only solution in times of crisis. That's why working in cycles is very good (republicans / democracts).
Another point about the bullshit I've been listening to from Bush's advisers and others on CNN : taxes are HARDLY the reason companies shift jobs overseas. They shift jobs overseas, simply because working force is less costly, because there are less environmental, security, social and workforce regulations. Whatever you do, if you're an industrialized country, you will NOT be able to compete with that, thus the delocalizations. Taxes are the tip of the iceberg.

caught you show, the one with Martin Short, Ben Afleck, and the Socialist.
I was amazed at all of crap that you guys were spewing out. It would be interesting to see an average, everyday American on your show to see
what they think. Say a Joe the Plumber(or Robert the Salesman) but maybe that would be to threatening. There are plenty of us who believe that America should not be turned into a socialist society and it should stand on the foundation on which it was built.

Saw Obama on The Daily Show today, he has great stage presence. I think John McCain is getting tired - we need a young president to keep up with the problems.

Having Colon Powell on his side is real power. That man has his priorities in order, and he's handled a few presidents without getting sucked into their crapulence. If he was running for any office, I'd vote for him.

Jr had his 15 minutes, now he can go to the Hell he believes in. It is my hope that he will live long enough to realize his mistakes, and feel what I feel - the fear of tyranny. Plus his shame for what he did.

There is no 2 ways with Ayn; she is quite specific. The Republicans used to claim her as their muse, before they took the church into their party. The libertarians - Ron Paul - have the right to claim her still, but she is considered controversial because she is a rock: no political weaving is possible. Noone touches her ideas; she doesn't bend at all.

She didn't sugar coat anything.

Today everyone wants it easy; tv culture. Sheep. It is not my job to save them from themselves and I have not accepted this duty. In my career I have had this thrust upon me several times, in various scopes. I love to help people and I have, but when I got more than 20 at a time HR started setting unreasonable conditions. I chose to do it, I didn't have to, so when they forced their bullshit on me, I quit.

I showed people how great they are. I was just a mirror, but often I was the first one who didn't beat them down. they trusted me, so I fed them; and they stuck around.

I am changing the world, usually one person at a time, but sometimes I get a show. If you could get the attention of 200 million people, what would you say to them?

I even contribute through several churches. They may sell dogshit as hope, but they have a social network through which I can help the abused. I certainly don't believe the pastors, they are selfish conmen, but I get to share through them.

Of course they take all the credit. In this respect, even the Pope owes me.

Once in a while I get thrown out of a church for educating people too much. When they start to think they ask questions; very intimidating to the status quo.

I know calculus. By that I mean I completed all semesters of the college engineering school core; 2 years of class + 6 just playing with it. When I was in school they said about 6% of the world knows calculus. Compared to the 85% who believe in a superstitious deity.

There is a movie, "The Devil's Advocate". In it Al Pacino, as Satan incarnate, rails on God. "God is an absentee landlord!", he says. Its a great movie, you should check it.

Chose your work, do your best. Try to understand where everyone around you is coming from. Don't buy into other people's hype. Its easiest to see if you have a clear conscience.

My interview went very well today, they're inviting me to a second round, so it's cool. I'm willing to take it anyhow, until I find something that suits me better.
As for church, I'm catholic actually but I go like once a year, and usually when I go back to Leb. I guess I'm not really a believer, not in the institutions anyway. The hypocrisy of it all kills me.

I love Ron Paul btw, first time I saw him was on the Daily Show.
It's sad to see how only the really ethical people don't get to the top. There's also Ralph Nader who seems to be interesting as well (I think he's from lebanese descent, judging from his name) :):)
What area from the US are you from btw ?

I know I shouldn’t post this here but I cant get an e-mail address for you, and the fact is at least this way you’ll see it. It’s a one time thing, to make a point.
And it’s not like I’m posting illegible crap, this is good stuff.
You have writers, right? Well, like the heading said I’m looking for a job.
This piece is a scientific analysis of prejudice and how the likely future US president Barrack Obama is marking another time of revolutionary change in regards to it. I know that this is probability already covered by others but I guarantee you it won’t be covered as thoroughly and distinctly as it’s covered by me. This is a very good piece of work. Please just read it, it’s all I ask, I’m sure my talent shines through my work.

Compassion, Empathy and Love.

Two thousand years ago the world was not a very nice place. The most powerful political entity at the time, the Roman Empire controlled the population with fear and brutality. The Romans were especially good at ruling by fear and brutality as well as using their military might in conjunction with brutal terror tactics to keep any of their subjugated lands under their sandal heels. The word decimate comes from the Latin where it means kill every 10th person. Now how many languages have come up with a word meaning kill ten percent of the population? And it’s not like the Romans were a bunch of ignorant savages. They had all the trappings of a noble educated civilized society. Fantastic engineering structures, a wide body of advanced mathematical and medical knowledge that led to unparallel advances in the arts and certain sciences. How did such civilized, rational, educated individuals condone the atrocities they were surrounded with every day? A big part of reason educated roman society condoned and even welcomed these government policies was racial hatred. If you were not Roman you were a barbarian and therefore less then human, not deserving of compassion, empathy, and love.
Prejudice has one principally simple yet very base principle behind it, basically; it’s ok to hate people because they’re different from you. The consequences of this mindset leads to some of the most deplorable of human endeavors ranging in intensity from to verbal attacks on of ethnic groups, to unequal rights for individuals under the law, the foisting of second class citizenship on them, forcible segregation of the population and bad as the abominations of slavery and genocide. All of these things come about due to prejudice; due to the idea of it’s us vs. them.
Where does prejudice come from? Is it an inherent human trait, genetically encoded? Well anthropologists have found a familiar pattern throughout all societies. Hunter gatherer society is extremely egalitarian, as a general rule all members of the group are expected to help their fellow man. But that only normally includes just the people in your tribe; usually it’s a group of 100 people or so. People of a different tribe, well, it’s ok to hate them. Rival tribes will raid each other, killing, raping and looting, not ascribing to members of the other group the status of being a viable person, they become less then human. Sadly it’s in our heritage, deeply ingrained behavior that had been with us since the Pleistocene era.
That leads to the question can we change, can we eventually live a world without prejudice? Regardless of what the real answer is, I believe the more important question is shouldn’t we at least try to live in a world without prejudice regardless? You see we have already changed from how we used to be.
Now this change happens slowly but except for when it’s happening quickly and when it’s happening quickly it’s happening very quickly. What is the catalyst? Who are these agents of change?

Two thousand years ago things were bad. Ya see the Romans weren’t just into calling the barbarians names, like well “barbarians”, but also were prejudiced in a scarier, slavery and genocide kinda way.
And then something happened, suddenly there was a new dude on the scene, a member of a brutally suppressed minority within the vast Roman Empire, spreading an idea that would change everything.
You see this guy said things that were dangerous to the Romans, and not in the typical rebel rousing, urging the people to take up arms and fight, treasonous, kinda dangerous. His idea was dangerous because it was transformational.
It was: You should love everybody no matter who they were. And this simple idea caught on despite the Romans stapling it’s proponents to planks of wood. So many people adopted this new idea. And though their roads and bridges would last thousands of years the back of the Roman government couldn’t take the weight of the new idea and broke.



Yes after Rome fell things slowly but gradually changed, centuries past, nations rose and fell until a group of “great men of history” came together and looked at the model of government of the old Roman republic and said:

“Hey, that wasn’t that bad an idea, having regular folks decide who should be in charge rather then just giving the job to the son or daughter of the old boss.”

These guys adopted and expanded the idea that people should be nice to each other, into the great ideals of the enlightenment and the French people’s revolution against the king. That all people were equal, that everyone deserved freedom and that we have an obligation to look out for other people.
Liberté, égalité, fraternité.
And in a land that was called the new world these new works were implemented. And hope for a new and better world was symbolized by this land.
The thing was it was a land that it knew that it was flawed, that it had to strive for a more perfect union.
A phrase that mean that they knew that it was imperfect.
The founding fathers hoped that it would get better. Let’s face it, when you’re a slave working a plantation in the new land. You knew that it had get a little better, a little better all the time. Because to paraphrase John Lennon -it couldn’t get no worse.
These great men of history don’t show up often and when they do it is usually at a time of strife, of upheaval and struggle. Abraham Lincoln was forged in the midst of the civil war. The civil war, like all war, generated a lot of hate. It started innocent enough, the confederate states figure that the northern states should stop telling it what to do. Than the next thing you know there are 42000 dead on a battlefield and Rebs wanna kill Yanks and Yanks wanna kill Rebs. The war had never really been about freeing the slaves, just preventing the breakup of the union, but Abe being one of those “Great Men of History” said heck if I’m going to send hundreds of thousands of men to their death, at least they should fight for something worthwhile, and presto; emancipation proclamation.
In one fell swoop Abe had righted the greatest of sins of the founding fathers. Slavery.






Why are people prejudiced? Do we all have some degree of Prejudice? Prejudice is based on stereotypes. Each ethnic, political, religious group has their own stereotype. And stereotypes develop about each group for a reason, and that is that these stereo types often have merit in describing a large percentage portion of the population. The problem with stereotypes is that you can’t describe all of the population because they do not match the stereotype.
With black population of the United States, I think one of the most pervasive stereo types that exist that automatically categorizes them. Ebonics or black slang is a rhythmic rhyme heavy and extremely emotive style of speaking but is not the kings English. Black folks don’t talk. Like how white people speak. And not just any white people, no, if you had an Okie Twang or a Southern Drawl it wasn’t the same thing as speaking proper Kings English. You see that’s how you talked if you were educated and well breed. It meant you were from certain privileged class.
Well at least it did 100 years ago, but with radio and television coming in to people’s homes it meant that they were hearing how people from the moneyed industrial areas of the northeast coast of the United States spoke. And in a way created a standard. An English dialect that is pretty uniform at least amongst the younger generation of the country.
Still 100 years of segregation tends to keep people apart. And so white folks never got to see Black folks in their lives and, of course, black folks never got on TV.
And so what changed?
Well a lot of has to do with, electric guitars, black rhythm and blues, and black slang. White kids really dug it. Their parents hated it, which made the kids even more crazy for it. Rock and roll influenced that generation in a profound way. You see it’s easy to hate a group in you never see or talk or get to know any of them. Rock and roll was the soundtrack of rebellion, liberation and love that embodied the split the new generations attitudes from the old. Things were changing and it showed in the songs.

You see back in 1968 the United States was having a crisis of identity. And prejudices and hatred were going strong. Heck you had the young vs. the old, the white vs. the blacks, the moral majority vs. the liberal hippies. And they disagreed on the big issues of the day, the war in Vietnam, civil rights, women’s rights you name it. There was this guy running for president and had gathered a large coalition of people around him, had enormous support among the young. They all wanted the same thing, they were basically fed up and wanted everybody to stop fighting, they wanted the government to try and resolve issues peacefully. When Martin Luther King one of the great men of history was shot the candidate appealed to the people saying:
We can move in that direction as a country, in greater polarization -- black people amongst blacks, and white amongst whites, filled with hatred toward one another. Or we can make an effort, as Martin Luther King did, to understand, and to comprehend, and replace that violence, that stain of bloodshed that has spread across our land, with an effort to understand, compassion, and love.
For those of you who are black and are tempted to fill with -- be filled with hatred and mistrust of the injustice of such an act, against all white people, I would only say that I can also feel in my own heart the same kind of feeling. I had a member of my family killed, but he was killed by a white man.
But we have to make an effort in the United States. We have to make an effort to understand, to get beyond, or go beyond these rather difficult times.
What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness, but is love, and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black.

Lots of people heard him that night and others but he was silenced before he could evoke the change that so many wished for.
But one of the people who did hear, took up the flag and carried it, and this person who seems destined to become another of the “Great Men of History” also decided to run for president, at a point in time where the nation is divided, there is a growing tension between different groups. The religious and the secular. The traditional and alternative lifestyles, and on, and on. Like Robert Kennedy before him Barrack Osama has gathered a large group of people into a movement that seeks to end prejudice.
But wherever there are different people together there is always be a good probability that we will revert back to the ways we thought about the tribes surrounding us. The Germans and the Jews the French and the English. The protestants and the Catholics, the Jews and, well a lot of people hate the Jews. Because they had no homeland they spread out and so were a strange and different minority in each different country. It’s the proximity that does it. Two cultures types together will tend to tribalism themselves, reverting back to acting like the warring tribes in the Pleistocene.




You see despite all he has accomplished all Obama would have to do to completely ruin his chances to be the first black president is open one of his speeches with, “Yo Whassup my Niggaz.”
It would be a gaff of huge proportions. And immediately mean that this man of 47 years wasn’t responsible enough to be president. I.e. he was too black to be president because we all know black people aren’t very responsible. (The stereotype becomes the true image of populace.)
“He ain’t different after all. He’s just like the rest of ‘em.”
He may be the first black president because I doubt there could be a first “black” president.
But the big thing for a lot of voters would be that Barrack wasn’t speaking kings English. anymore, he isn’t speaking white. While there is much less overt racism Obama would suddenly fit into the category of being “black”. He would fit the stereotype.
It shows that despite how far we’ve come, how much more we have left to overcome… some day.
He could inspire real change yet I hope that he’s around long enough to deliver it. As it’s been shown time and time again through history; it’s a dangerous job to wear the crown.

You see things change, but they tend to change in generations. At this moment it the promise of what Barrack has to deliver. And it the effect that the life of Barrack Obama as a “Great Man of History” has on the life of lets say, one black-Jewish Lesbian girl who grows up to destined to follow in his footsteps

So pretty good huh? Sorry don’t mean to sound arrogant, but I’m sure you know what I mean.
I’ve got plenty more most of them a lot funnier, but it’s hard to be comic when you’re being serious. But frankly I expect you to hire me for my talent. And to prove to you that have real talent I want to prove it to you, give me an assignment. but be careful with siamese cats, I have one back in beirut, and she's a real bitch. If you like cats that are playeful and cuddly, you won't like siamese cats. They're very private, don't play much, pretty arrogant, and they're a one-person-cat. Mine used to adore me when I was still back in Beirut but after I left, whenever I came back for vacation, she was a real bitch (she actually doesn't let me sleep in my own bed!) so now she's hardly my cat.
As for the one I'm gonna get, I'm not sure yet (a friend of mine wants to give me one kitten so dunno yet), but I really love the ones with the grey stripes and blue eyes, you know, the regular street-ones. I like "leo" for a male, I'm not sure what name if it's a female, so maybe you can help there :)

What a cute kitty! If it's female, the first name I thought of when I saw "her" was "Lily" because it sounds delicate and innocent which is what "she" looks like to me. Doesn't look like a leo (lion) but I won't stand in your way if that's what you decide! :) I think it's a good idea to have the cat around you for a couple days before giving it a name. Get to know the personality and the appropriate name will present itself.

Regarding the Siamese breed, I almost thought you were describing me! Haha...just kidding. I'm allergic to cats (have to take Allegra when I'm around them) so if it wants to keep it's distance, it would be okay. They're basically living statues anyway.

Why is he/she comparing religion to government? God created people and people created religion. i hope that everyone who loves bill and bill himself reads the book The End of Faith by Sam Harris. It is a far more important book than "The God Delusion" by Dawkins or "God is not Great" by Hitchins. It is a must read for any thinking person who is rational enough to see the increasing danger of religious extremism and those more moderate religionists who provide a smokescreen behind which they can hide and operate with relative immunity. Mr. Harris rightly asserts that the unwritten rule about not questioning believers will lead to our eventual doom.

personal belief systems are fine but "magical" beliefs are inherently dangerous. I don't need to list the atrocities ndone in the name of these beliefs because it is already well documented. The thing is that we mustn't let this type of thinking become the norm. As technology snowballs the impact of one single person or a small group of people can be catastropic for the entire population of a country, continent or the entire planet. Extreme beliefs must be kept in check by a majority that confronts these people and groups with science and logic and discourages them from spreading potentially dangerous. ideas. Remember, there are too many people out there who are not interested in friendship or understanding

I grew up in a country where there is rouglhy 50-50 christians and muslims, each group arguying (or at least privately thinking) their religion's better. During my teenage and twenties years, Christians became less numerous, and the country being a middle eastern country with huge political problems, their voices got lower and lower while the muslim voices got higher and higher, and of course, spoke of wars, bad social 'habits' (alcohol, sex, homosexuals, etc.), and "resisting to the enemy"
[ring a bell, there?] , while when the christians ruled, we welcomed the West and its culture, and let people develop and enhance the way they chose to.
In order to find a balance in my head, I made up my mind about the difference between the two: christianity allowed for more cultural freedom, while Islam was more archaic and more violent. So I was quite happy to be born in a christian family, and was happily raised to drink wine on good occasions, and happy not to contradict my parents' beliefs, by being friends with anyone (gays, people from other religions, etc.) who was different. BECAUSE I was very naive and thought that christians EVERYWHERE comprehended the fact that Christ took in a prostitute, drank wine, and never built armies to impose his views (well the Vatican took care of that afterwards, but that wasn't Christ's fault), so basically the whole difference to me was resumed in two words : tolerance and forgiveness if needed.
SO THANK YOU, because you've just shown me that ANY RELIGION, including mine, can become archaic and violent and repressive, if it's allowed to dominate. Because it is dominated by men, WHICH ARE BIPEDES, and whose interests are to CONTROL others.

It is exactly the same talk as the muslims whose, for now, voices are louder in my country. You believe, word for word, the exact same things THEY believe : it's a shame and against God's will to be a gay or a lesbian, weapons should be put in your hands to protect yourselves (or your honour), your own religion is the best and is the true version the world should follow and anything against it is TERRORISM, stem cell research sucks, etc. You guys are actually best friends and you share the same belief : imposing it on others. The only difference is that you can still pride on your democracy which, to this day, doesn't really exist in many ME countries. But you didn't win your democracy over night. It was your forefathers who gave it to you, and they believed in the seperation of Church and State when they passed it on to you, for a damn good reason. And you're ruining it. I'm a stupid optimist that believes anyone can eventually understand. The secret is to speak in people's own words and own references. I don't think I'll ever master that though.
I mean, there is a human inside there somewhere. You just need to find the thing that triggers them because they're sound asleep with the BS they get hypnotized with. And I've learned that there are some things you can't touch. When I discuss things with muslim friends, I've learned not to criticize directly the quran, but rather the politics, and actually, it seems better to follow the same pattern with christians. It's kinda sad cause it used to be the only religion I was confortable criticizing (respectfully and in an constructive way, like can someone explain what the hell is the concept of the Church with closed doors and gold plated ceilings when people are dying of hunger and cold outside...) since it's mine, but people are becoming more and more extreme. It's like you're insulting their mothers or something !
So whenever you want to make a point, focus on the institutions and the men that control them.
The good thing about my part of the world (europe and even in Leb) is that actually, people will still go to church, but are open enough to realize that you can't refutate evolution, so the debate is much lighter.

As a consumer it is one's responsibility to do business where it makes sense. Some consumers seem to forget, we hold the cards, we have the power, we say who gets our money and who DOESN'T. We have choices to make.

Socialism 101: it's the little guys that make and keep the big guys rich. Example, celebrities and professional sports teams would be nothing without the little guys paying to watch their movies, buy the tickets, t-shirts, books, etc.

My regular grocery store got to be too expensive for me in the last few months. The prices kept creeping up. We have another alternative (Aldi)and since I've been taking my business there, I save at least $100 per shopping trip. I shop every 10 days. So, I save at least $300 per month. That's $3,600 per year. That's 3 month's of mortgage payments for me. If more consumers took responsibility for how they spend their money, these other price gouging companies would have to make changes to their business model to keep/bring back their customers. It's either that or go out of business.

We, the consumers, induce market competitiveness. Pure, direct, indirect, and budget competition between companies and its products/services are necessary and favorable to its customers.

Aldi's profit margins increase because they understand these philosophies and base their business methods on the attitude that "we win if our customers win."

If you want to take the "glass is half empty" approach in life, it is my opinion that you will miss out on opportunities that would be more beneficial to you and your family. The sky is not falling.

Its an old theme, the fall and redemption. We think our country has gone mad, done terrible things here at home and throughout the world, but at last the people responsible for that will be leaving, finally, moving on, like the locusts. And we all momentarily hope that Obama will bring redemption, a revival of the best ideas of our democracy. We'll all see.

It's really like the Nazis fleeing Paris with the art in their trucks -- the people who have run us into the ground have been frantically packing their planes with money, ready to flee to their European villas. Probably tomorrow, actually. Everyone has feared the October surprise -- the start of a new war, use of nukes, attack on Iran -- one more crazed and murderous act from the Bush regime. But note that other than their few stupid bombings and murder of civilians in Syria and Pakistan, the real focus of these people has been on grabbing all the money.

That whole wall street bailout was just them grabbing more for themselves. And the Democrats pushed it through presumably because they get their cut, and/or they've been just as complicit in this whole con as their Republican co-conspirators.

But I've been thinking about Bill Maher, who has been at the top of his game this season. One after the next show has just the best. And it occurred to me: Bill Maher's career was almost destroyed by the insane barbarians who took control of our country in 2000. And his career has not just come back, but reached new heights, because of the ultimate unveiling of the true corruption, deceit, and insanity of the Bush Regime. How ironic and really quite wonderful.

So congratulations Bill Maher, job well done. I won't say you single-handedly brought these people down -- but you should tell people that you did, say you planned it from the start, because it makes a great story.

Hey Maher...saw you on the Huckabee show. Huckabee was WAY to soft on you. Nice guy, but was not being a critical thinker in his responses. I know you had to work in Dawkinsnesque and Harrisosophy soundbites in such a setting, but man did you lay out some lobs that should have been blistered back over the net to you. I assume you would like more critical interaction. I would go see your movie, but don't want to push box office activity for such, so will wait until it hits the $1 Redbox units and do the discount thing. We have seen the crazies, and they are us. Could I get a copy of your testing procedures that you have conducted to so confidently conclude all faith folks are disordered? I am impressed at how much frustration people posting here are feeling. I think we need more time and better resources to figure out what the fuck our state and federal 'representatives' are really doing to make really good choices; it would be a helluva thing if we could start negotiating on the web to make better collective bargaining demands to them. In other words, we blues and reds figure out our own compromises, then our purple coalition gangpiles the 'how did you get so rich as a public servant?' allegedly representative government and gets represented.

At all levels: fed, state, county, city.

I bet Obama would get behind this, and Ron Paul & Nader, leaving only the unrepresentative coalitions: the 10%.

Thats a short list.

Bill is a great catalyst in the right direction. Be sure that everything posted in Bill's blogs is being analyzed as if it contained the human genome; and put into cold storage for future research.

Please, please stop saying that christians and religious people have neurological disorders. They don't. It's unnecessary namecalling, and if you think that calling them retarded will make them want to change then think about what you feel when christians call liberals "baby killers".

Religious people are normal people, rational people, who have been exposed to a lot of wrong information. If you were living in a land where everyone said "the sun is a giant firefly that flies in the same path every day", and everyone agreed with that, then why would you question it?

Once you realize that religious people are rational people, you will better understand how religion functions and why people put so much of their lives into it. I've spent time with the most zealous, far flung reformationist christians and it's amazing to see how they act completely normally in terms of social behavior, have the same kinds of wants and needs as me, but have these outlandish views of the way the world operates. I mean, sure it's one thing to have theories of how people justify religion, but seeing how they play out is just... well it's awe inspiring and eye opening to say the least.

It is so refreshing to hear an American tell it like it is about his country. "We are the leaders of the world" is a mantra that doesn't hold much weight outside the US. In fact, it's become a bit of a joke here (in Canada), as it has in many other worldly countries.

I agree, Bill, that it's time to stop saying you're the greatest nation on earth and start acting like it.

I can proudly say that at least on the religious score (and the literacy score), we Canadians have left our American neighbors way behind. (It may have taken too many mothers regretting the day they let their boys go off on weekend camping trips with the grown up man of God, but so be it.)

I completely agree with your religious views, and I agree that this blind faith is dangerous. But I'm also a live and let live kinda girl, so if it makes a lost soul feel a little less loss, than who am I to say it's bad for them. Where it is frightening is when your leader says that America will succeed because God wants you to succeed. America may have a shot at succeeding when your so-called leader of the world leaves the White House.

He, and many of his ilk, are good for a laugh, however. And I do love a good laugh, which is why I enjoy you so much.

Umm… I guess the context would be that Bill basically claimed that people who hold to their faith have some sort of mental problems… I merely pointed out that ALL evidence is viewed with a slant toward one’s current position and that one must apply a form of “faith” to fully accept any events that they did not witness happening firsthand. You cannot refute any god’s existence without giving “sincere” consideration and testing of the theory. (which would require sincerely praying to see if there is an effect) Prior to our proper recognition and interpretation of the evidence we did not even know that x-rays existed. Testing had to occur. In this same way is it not possible that God exists and that some recognize the evidence of His existence while others reject that evidence. The answers for the advent of life (abiogenesis) are mere conjecture. No one witnessed it firsthand nor are they able to. There have been some weak claims made but truthfully it takes great “faith” to believe such theories. The evidence of extreme complexity in design is very apparent when we consider all of the forces that govern the stability required for everything from atomic, subatomic and molecular bonding, to celestial movements and formations. There are “true” physical laws that exist and “govern” such things. Why? As far as stem cell research… I find it amusing that people are so consumed with attempting to live forever or at least moving in that direction. We seem to create 3 new problems for every one that we solve… Because I KNOW the flawed nature of men I do not willingly place too much trust in their latest, greatest achievements… when one does not place a high value on human life in any of it’s presentations (fetus to aged) then it is no big deal to sacrifice that life in an attempt to extend or improve their own. I find it repugnant that the type of experimentation labeled atrocities when they occurred in Nazi Germany under Hitler are now hailed as great research and discoveries in the name of science. Selfish “death-fearing” people will always support stem cell research… whatever it’s moral or tangible cost might be.

The catch 22 for faith is this: you have to make a sincere attempt when you approach it... doubt undermines faith so you cannot truly test it unless you let go of the doubt or skepticism which is virtually impossible for some... especially when you consider that there are several possible faiths. If one choooses not to try they should still not comment on that which they do not/could not know.

Well then it seems we agree. I think I already explained that to me, someone that says they're absolutely certain there is no God are as extreme to me as religious fanatics. Although I tend to lean to their position (atheists and agnostics) because I guess there are more proofs against the possibility then proofs for it.
But I don't think you can compare "atrocities" done in the name of religion and in the name of science. There are no real collective atrocities done in the name of science (except some, but we're not talking about medecine then, rather about technology, and more specifically military technology, which is not the subject).
But there were huge atrocities commited in the name of religion. The Nazis, which you cite, you can't say that it was in the name of science, it was in the name of religion. The people that followed them and their collaborators all around Europe believed that it was good because it was in the name of religion.
Anyways, I'm betting on something. One day, when the discourse is so much dominated by religion that it makes you want to puke, you'll understand - if not already - that all this has nothing to do with religion. All this discourse in the US is part of something else. You'll find the same discourse in Europe (which happens to have immigration problems with mostly muslims, how convenient..) and also in the ME, where dictators need their people to forget that they should revolt. There is only one thing in common between three continents : create a common enemy to have a 'nation' come together on some sort of fictional set of values, which they don't even bother to apply on themselves (leaders). It's as old as the earth. Otherwise, leaders would be fucked, frontiers would be fucked, and true globalization would actually mean something.
Have you ever noticed that the most patriotic people / religious people are the ones who believe in a common enemy, thus, who will look more towards their leaders for defense or guidance ? I'm not a very patriotic person all the time (like in a fanatical anti-syrian/ anti-Israeli/ anti-everything lebanese kinda way), but I felt very strongly about the war with Israel in 2006 and after. 'I had the same common enemy' (whereas the lebanese have not much in common as a people, really, except for love of nature, music, food and a high degree of stupidness).
Also, when there were extremist muslim attacks in Beirut and against the army, I held on very strongly to my christianity.
At the end of the day, people have no clue, and they need to hold on to something. And politicians smartly use that to drive you to let them do whatever they want to do. That trick is as old as the Earth. And good for them, after all, they're smart and we're stupid. That's why I want to be a politician :)
I'll get everyone to do what I want.

So eventually, I think that a true 'believer' should be able to accept different traditions, different gods, and not feel about it as a competition, as long as their freedoms are not threatened (which excludes minorities in the ME :P)

Wow Victoria! I can't believe that 33% of the people who read that article actually liked it. Thankfully, over 66% disliked it so that tells me the majority of our population is sane. But there's always that pesky one third.... :)

Some people are so over the top and go out of their way for the wrong things and wrong reasons, in my opinion.

I believe in God but fault no one for not. I don't love Bill any less because he has questions about religion and is doubtful if not adamant that there is no such thing as God. It's just hard for me to believe I'd be nothing more than fertilizer after I die. I look at it this way, I have nothing to lose by believing in God. Can you imagine after you die, being guided through that white light and seated in front of your maker to explain why you didn't believe? What are the consequences? Are there consequences? Oh that's right, the Bible says so. Or how about not even getting to see God and being confined to some area that's ok (at least it's not hell, since you never committed any crimes or were awful to others), but you were separated from God's love/glory? If after I die and I do in fact, become nothing more than fertilizer, I have lost nothing because I will never know. However, if I don't believe, and there is a God and Heaven, I could possibly have everything to lose. Well, less to gain the way I see it.

I don't speak in tongues like some posters here do, but I feel I get my point across to most. At the end of the day, to each their own.

So here's the story that comes to my mind when I think of what you think.
François Mitterand (ex-french president now deceized) was atheist. When asked what he would like to happen if he realized that God existed, once he was dead. He replied that "God says 'welcome'.. Or something like that.
Point is let God take care of that :) he can forgive an non-believer, and he's above us, isn't he ? :)

I've thought about the whole "all forgiving" God, but think that's kind of taking the easy way out, or it's kind of a cop out. Then why should anyone believe or put in an effort to learn about/know God if he's going to be all forgiving anyway. I wonder how much of the responsibility is on us to learn, feel, hear, believe in God? His power, His love, His mercifulness? I willfully want to believe in God (at least a higher power) based on my own personal experiences. It's like some people are open and some are closed. Some people see dead people, some people don't. What's the difference? People see what they believe or believe what they see. I feel like I should be accountable for my life (even though I do believe I am here for a purpose, ie God's plan). I don't think I should lay all my shit on God's lap just because he's supposed to take care of us. I'd like to believe we are here to learn some lessons and learn from each other. I welcome our differences as much as our similarities. I celebrate Wilber!!

I am playing catch up, not enough time to amuse myself here and do my 'real time' (pun?). So this is in response to stuff you asked a while ago.

As far as I can tell the nature of democratic politics is a lot like rugby. There are rules, which the players break as much as possible without getting caught and if caught, penalized. There is a code of honor amongst the players, not to complain to the referee when they have been violated, up to and including permanent maiming injuries. Also the players must always 'maintain an even strain' and play injured, otherwise they are considered nancies and may get dropped at the end of the season. If they whine enough they might get some debilitating injuries from their own team.

Rugby is a sport that requires intense training and a certain aggressive mental attitude: death may occur in every match. Get over it, the only thing that matters is the final score.

Like judges, the referees call penalties when they see them and are not afraid. They are sort of like the shotcallers for the rabid audience, that is to say, the public. Excluding being co-opted by death threats to themselves and their families, most referees are corrupt anyway and many of them are not even being paid off by the teams that are on the field.

The UN works the same way as the judges. You should visit Las Vegas: just don't touch anything on 'the floor'.

The game is played seasonally and on season calendar appointments. Off season and between games the players train their asses off and socialize amongst themselves, trying to know their opponent's weaknesses and to psych them out.

And also to heal their injuries, and to plan and carry out their vendettas. This has been recently and adequately demonstrated by President Richard Nixon and President The Clintons.

Winning is everything, which is why the fans are rabid; they are all betting on the outcome.

Each scheduled event is just a game; each team has to go the season, and if we are doing well we plan into the future to hold the cup. Fuck the title, the cup is all that matters; the title is just there to psych future players.

I guess thats every contact sport. I played rugby, hockey, football, soccer. Not only is rugby the most intense physical beating I ever took, many times, on and off the field but the loyalty and comradery was also the most intense.

I never played cricket or that game where the teams have a net on a stick and a small ball, then chase each other around the field like loonies pretending to smash each other's heads while trying to get the ball. I am very moved by this, it is like several cycles of my life are coming to a successful conclusion.

I was just watching when the two families joined in after the speech in chicago.. You can't help but think.. 50 years after Rosa, MLK... You can't help feeling emotional, even if you're not american. Eventually, the one thing that everybody tried to silence during this was the race factor, but now, it's like you can't refrain. You've actually voted for an afro-american as president, 40 yrs after the civil rights movement (which is a record time for almost any country on this earth!)...

I would like to introduce myself before you read what I have to say. I am an international worker here in the United States and hence didnt vote (because I cant, If I could it would be for Obama)and I have been watching your shows on HBO quite regularly.
First off, I would like to congratulate you for a great job that you have done with the show.
And also I do agree with a lot of your point of views.
BUT
I feel that your rhetoric sometimes is very insulting to John Mccain (200 year old man, he might die tomorrow, .......) and well ofcourse your bread and butter Sarah Palin.

I write to you because I want to take you seriously when you present the views that you do on your show but when you cross the line of decency as frequently as a human blinks in an hour you disappoint me. Yes you could say that this is the "Entertainment" factor but please Bill you should have more class than making cheap jokes about the Republican candidates.
As I said before I would vote for Obama because of his Financial policy, International outlook (Diplomacy first) and an overall sense of levelheadedness but simultaneously I would show some respect for a 72 year old man who has served this country and who has the experience to back his campaign up even if I disagree with him.
Sad to say but you are just as extreme as Bill O Rielly sometimes maybe even more since you are on HBO and get to be provocative.
I do like your closing statements, well most of them and I want you to be a serious, respected politically aware advocate but I have to remind myself time and again that you are a comedian and maybe I am expecting too much.

Now that this is over I would like to say that I have been helping some really old people I have known for about 20 years. After the RNC convention they asked me what I thought of Sarah Palin.

They have not spoken to me since. I usually speak to them 2-3 times a week so they will turn to dust before reaching out to me for help again.

As they said good bye they made it clear that they would never vote for anyone who was not of their race and would prefer a candidate of their church as well.

Thats the kind of fixed, stale closed mindedness that Sarah Palin's campaign style targeted, thats why I was disgusted with her from the first words out of her mouth, and thats why the young voters turned this election for Obama.

Most young people don't have stale closed minds and the ones that do don't vote yet, unless some criminal fuck like convicted felon Tom Abramoff, a bribe dealing friend of McCain and the false church leaders of America. You'll have to Google them, there is just too much on this topic.

I would like to propose a law: all lobbyists and politicians convicted of fraud and bribery should be hanged for treason, on national TV - and not pay per view, on every channel to drive the point home.

I won't budge on political corruption. It is treasonous and crippling to the democratic process, and it got us here. You pick the permanently devastating form of punishment. Some forms of punishment are intended to deter those thinking of committing them and are therefore extremely effective in reducing both the occurance of the crime and also the frequency with which we have to use that punishment.

Since they intentionally jeopardize our way of life and under the current corrupt 'buy liberty' judicial system, I have no qualms about throwing them off the boat.

The reason I am pissed is because Abramoff and others like him do their time in in either a hotel or a country. I want him to share the same cells that lesser offenders with no money and influence get, and do the same amount of time.

Surely you can agree: the mandatory minimums for drug dealers are higher than the average sentence a 1st degree murderer gets.

I think this would deter them from dissolving America in their bloated gullets.

If you don't believe, than what does it matter anyway? If we just die and become nothing more than dirt, then who the fuck cares? What do I care if some politician breaks the law? We're all going to die anyway and there's nothing to look forward to afterwards, right Why do people follow rules or obey laws? They can't put us all in prison, right? They're overflowing now anyway. It's a girl. The thing is I'm currently still moving into the house AND looking for a job. So having to deal with this stuff is just not what I planned, but you're probably right. She was saved from something ! Their place was filthy, the husband is a doctor - you'd expect a little hygiene, and their daughter has long hair ! She must be full of flees.. When I called them to warn them, they said well don't worry, flees don't go into clothes or hair !! Euuuh YES THEY DO !!
Anyways, she has blue eyes, and she's white and grey. She's really beautiful and 4 months old. I still don't know what to name her though, she was traumatized with all the showering and spraying since she got here, so it's probably gonna be something like "spooky" hehe.
I'll post a pic soon if you want to take a look at her :) Maybe you can help me with the name !

I am thinking about John McCain's campaign manglers. I think they should be glad Obama won coz their careers derailing campaigns is over.

Now it is time to start the Obama in '12 campaign by making sure the next 4 years are good for all Americans, for all the good people everywhere who do business with us - and would like to - and especially hard for all the haters.

Obama & DNC had a huge victory at the federal level but the popular vote was not as unified, and many local contests went to republicans. These hold outs still need to be shown - included. The only thing they have to give up is their 'anti-American' sentiments about their neighbors.

We aren't going to bring over the fascists and the as yet unconvicted political predators, they don't want democracy.

New proposition for a law: Marriage licenses should be issued like dog licenses, on an annual basis. The purpose for this law is to increase tax revenues, to keep marriages fresh, to reduce spousal abuse, to reduce the demand for divorce lawyers, and most important, to annoy people enough so that they realize how ridiculous government involvement in marriage is.

Everyone is free or no one is. The Gay marriage ban went through so its on to the supreme court wicth this bit of discriminatory legislation.

I back the right of gay marriage to protect my own freedom.

In this matter I think that a slim majority of people have shown that they are petty, unchristian and resentful of anyone else having fun, since they obviously aren't having any.

I was just sharing my own ideas. Its better than regurgitating memorized answers that someone else fed you, or acting on gut instinct, or believing that you are smart because you got a high score on some tests.

Genius is not a noun or a pronoun, it is an adverb and a verb. "That was shear genius!" is correct; "you are such a genius!" is not. A soldier in combat can perform an act of genius just as much as an obsessed egghead. The people we call geniuses are those whose extraordinary actions changed the world.

All the paper tigers - geniuses at test taking - are posers.

It is better to try to be extraordinary than it is to take any abuse.

To my knowledge the quantum holograph was 1st described Godfrey Leibniz about 400 years ago. He called it the "monad", a term that still applies in physics today. I called it a quantum holograph here because this is a more comprehensible term, but the monad is the "oneness" of all things; I was trying to describe this greater universal theory of everything.

Hey fellow bloggers!

Decided to take a break from LA and since I can't vote anyway I took the week off and went home to Jamaica. So I am writing this from a hammock on the beach with a Red Stripe sweating in the sand, and I can honestly say that this is the first time I have turned my laptop on.

I was however glued to the election like so many other Jamaican's and a surprising number of Americans that were here on vacation. I can fully vouch for Jamaican's being 100 percent behind Obama with one exception. The entire island is HOMOPHOBIC!! As we watched Obama deliver his acceptance speech and he said "gay, straight" all of the Jamaican's in the bar busted out into laughter. I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

As well since he won I can finally mail in my US citizenship application, just in case McCain won I had also filled out the renewal for my greencard. Thankfully that can go into the trash and I won't have any need to truly consider any of the country's on Bill's get away list.

On a side note, Chris MacNeil I totally shared your website with some new friend from Italy and Arizona. Loved IT!

I fired it up before the 2004 election, realizing that the American voter was much more stupid than I had previously thought.

So, I tried to do my bit with humor and insight.

I was even a little disappointed in Bill for believing what they were telling us before the war...

A few weeks prior to the launching of 'Real Time' HBO invited some people into a mock Q&A session with Bill, to try and fine tune that segment of the show, before going live with it.

For one of the sessions, I was sitting in the front row, within staggering distance of the podium Bill was at. If I would have been *really* drunk, I could have stood up, fallen forward and toppled the podium on top of Maher, but I wasn't that drunk.

After the warm up directors, producers and whatnot, Bill took the podium with a huge ass digital clock ticking in the back, so he could measure his timing, I guess.

One of the first things he did was to explain some of his new stances on things since his show P.I. was cancelled. One thing being that he was now *for* the illegals.

When asked why, he just said something like, "Uh, I don't know, I just changed my mind." Making me think that HBO had done some viewer polls, and Bill sold out. Not that I blame the guy, with what they're paying him. And maybe he really changed his mind on the matter, and seriously doesn't know why. Maybe he was more tuned up than I was.

He gave the party line about how they'll throw flowers at our feet. Just then a fuse or vessel blew in my brain.

As luck would have it, as my noggin was spinning, Bill chose me to ask a question.

OK, what I meant to say was, "Are you fucking crazy?! Do you really expect us to just bomb the everloving shit out of someone's country, killing many civilians, and soldiers in the process, *THEN* expect the citizens to throw flowers at us when we come marching in to take over?!"

OK, that's what I was trying to say, but I was upset and hadn't had time to formulate my words when I was picked, so I must have sounded like some sort of petting zoo animal squawking something about dead brothers and family members, judging from the confused and slightly concerned look on Maher's face, as he half laughingly said, "WHAT?!" Then without missing a beat, he picked another member of the group, hoping for a more coherent question.

So, anyway, after Bush won the 2004 election, I was so depressed I just couldn't see the humor in anything Bush, and decided to leave my site as it was, rather than come off like a bitter and babbling dim wit, making chicken sounds, when given a chance to actually say something...

you never believed the WMD theory ? I actually almost believed it at the time, and I'm arab... I actually hoped they would find something when Saddam was captured. I was sick as hell to acknowledge what I already knew, that there was something much much bigger [ Bush's famous constructive chaos plan]. I wish the Irak war was as simple as a war to take down a dictator or stop him from using 'WMD', and that it had no ramifications in the region and beyond.

I knew from the beginning that it would never work, though. That's how arabs are. There are two many different trends, and the country has a huge history of dicatorship. You don't just hand over 'freedom' to people that don't even know it. Eventually, they treat others the way they were treated. 'Democracy' is each people's process and history, you can't just drop it on someone, and expect the system which works in your country (in general) to be transposed to another.
Now, there's only one thing that you missed in your reasoning: you forgot the bad guys in Irak, bush's allies. Those people are just like Saddam. You hand them power and control in a country where they didn't have the right to breath, as shias. Those will do anything to stay in power, just as in other countries that are 'allies' of the US, disguized dictatorships, just as Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia. The illusion that things are 'good' in Irak lays solely on their good-will. The day they decide it's to their advantage to turn against the US, should the US really implement a real democracy by forcing them, your military should do the only smart thing they can : cut and run, as Reagan did in 1982 in Lebanon [Maher actually mentioned this on one of his shows, I think]

Sometimes I think that if the US had been smart enough to do only business with those countries, without openly supporting their dicators, there would be less terrorism against the US, and if there were terrorism to this level, it would turn against those dicators in their own countries, and that would be their own process towards democracy.
But people see the US everywhere (multiply reality by a trillion, with all conspiracy theories), so they eventually consider the US as God, and since this God supports their dictators or decides to invade them, they only blame the US. Not their own leaders to start with. In people's mind, the US and Israel are responsible for everything. Their leaders are fine with this, because it keeps them out, and the US continues to feed this hatred. My only hope is that Obama might be smarter than that. Ron Paul once said something like 'you don't impose democracy on people, you just show them how it is here, and let them decide for themselves' I wish he had continued to explain his reasoning, the fact that the US and the rest of the normal world would be a thousand times safer than today.

He is an excellent choice. He seems very accomplished and has lots of contacts & experience with the democratic party, the white house and the banking institutions which are the core of the current financial crisis.

His extensive experience with Israel should ensure effective communications in the ME, possibly make progress with the Palistinian and in doing so build some Arab support.

It also seems like Obama is rewarding him for his work in making the Obama campaign a success. If so, he earned it.

And I can't wait to see Rahm Emanuel I think that Obama picking him has set a tone for the White House, not only will we have a President that sounds like a foreigner but so will his chief of staff. All in all I think that alone will get more people talking to us rather than hating us.

I was watching Al Jazeera yesterday, and I can tell you that : they are WAY starting to whine about this like the deal is done [jewish father who fought the palestinians before the creation of Israel and very pratiquant and outspoken, they seem to prefer the Cheney kinda guy]... As usual, they want everything served on a plate..
SoI'm not sure if it will be possible to build arab support.
To me, it's a misconception, I haven't checked the details yet, but if he was chief of staff under Cliton then he was also involved in Cmp David II, which were the only serious negotiations.
But besides that, and we'll see how it goes, I LOVE THE GUY !!

And if you want to avoid failed strategies, all you have to do is learn from the McCain people.
As much as I think Sarah Palin is an alien, I think what they're doing to her is very low.
There's this story about her not knowing that Africa is not a country but a continent. How about people are reminded that she was parachuted there because McCain asked her ? That he's the idiot if she really is what they're describing right now.
Plus, please, let's not forget either that Bush has announced Mandela dead once...
They suck and I kinda feel like defending her. She shouldn't have to go through all this shit after the elections are done.

When Colon Powell showed what could have been a traveling Taco Wagon, and claimed it was a mobile lab, even he didn't believe that crap.

And when they held up a small amount of powder telling the American public how many it could kill...

...all I could think of was the First Bush holding up a huge bag of cocaine, claiming it was purchased across the street from the White House, with flashbacks of lies about babies on the floors of hospitals.

It was a huge line of Carnie Crap!

By then I knew Bush was a shameless liar, wanting to kill Saddam, to avenge the assassination attempt on his Daddy.

Yeah, these "anonymous" people reporting that Sarah Palin didn't know this or didn't know that...the election is over people, let's just move on. She's not my cup of tea, but I don't believe in beating a dead horse. I think the media is going to miss beating up on her and they're making these lame ass statements to keep the fires burning.
