QUOTES FROM “REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER

Following are quotables from “Real Time with Bill Maher” for Friday, July 17th , 2009. “Real Time with Bill Maher” airs Fridays at 10:00PM ET (10:00PM PT, tape delayed) on HBO, with additional replays throughout the week on HBO and HBO 2.

Healthcare reform really is gaining momentum and is gonna happen. Now of course, the Republicans say the plan is too confusing and too convoluted. But, you know, these are the same people who claim they can make sense out of a Sarah Palin speech.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue

She got quite a grilling from those Republicans. I was like fellas, she’s a Latina, not a piñata.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue regarding Sonia Sotomayor

The tag that they kept trying to hang around her neck was “reverse racist.” They said, you know, it’s reverse racists like her that give regular racists like them a bad name.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue regarding Sonia Sotomayor

I would never say that Republicans are all racist. That’s ridiculous and wrong. But if you’re a racist nowadays in America, you’re probably a Republican.

- Bill Maher

What he represented in that moment of the professionalism and the integrity and the courage and the humanity. It’s an amazing thing. I don’t think any modern day anchor quite embodies what he was.

- Jason Alexander regarding Walter Cronkite and his reporting on the JFK assassination

New Rule: Stop referring to Sarah Palin as a “renegade”. A renegade is someone who rebels against convention. What is Sarah Palin rebelling against, grammar? Wildlife? Sports analogies? Face it Sarah, you only rebelled against one thing in your life, family planning.

- Bill Maher in his “New Rules” segment

I defy anyone to watch ten minutes of "My Super Sweet 16" on MTV and not want to strap on a vest and blow up that little snot's birthday party.

- Bill Maher in his “New Rules” segment

My god, since this Michael Jackson thing happened, I have no idea what's going on with John and Kate.

- Bill Maher in his “New Rules” segment

This week's guests were Brian Schweitzer, Anne Deavere Smith, Markos Moulitsas, Jason Alexander and a satellite interview with Joe Scarborough.

  2. I remember when Walter Cronkite reported on the Kennedy assassination, Johnson's speech about not seeking re-election & the first Moon launch and landing. I missed the thing about Vietnam...

I also remember how pissed off that old man was when CBS forced him to retire at 65!

Starting to wonder if that was payback for not supporting the Vietnam war...

I mean, *we* can't have some senile old fuck on TV telling us the truth, now can we?

  3. Michael Jackson:

Just because somebody is different doesn't make them strange.

He did what he did because he had personal reasons which none of us have the right to know or judge him by. We did it anyway, judged him, ridiculed him without knowing personal reasons. He was honorable all the while when answering major critics. He has millions of fans around the world. So, please do your research before you talk about Michael Jackson, the KING of POP.

I love your show Bill. But when you spoke about Michael the way you did it didn't sit well with me. I did not understand the part of the conversation where "Forgiveness" was mentioned. We have to forgive him for what? for creating music that transcends genres, for writing some of the most beautiful songs like "Heal the world", "Black or white", "Earth song","will you be there?" for being an awesome dancer, an exceptionally hypnotic performer, a notable humanitarian? Can you please mention these so called "SINS" that he "committed"? Because I do not know of any! If you are talking about drugs Lennon did them too.Hell! you do them too. If its anything else I want proof.

    Thank you

  5. Where is the fantastic comparison between Michael Jackson and America he made after the July 17th show?

  6. Bill, I love your show, but yesterday when you were talking about Sotomayor, you made it sound as if Puertorrican or Latin/Hispanic was a Race. Nothing so far from the truth! My first language is Spanish, born in PR, I am Caucasian like many people in PR. This is the only country, (the US), in the world where people who speak Spanish are labeled. That would be like labeling all anglophones as a "race". Totally ridiculous! I am going to quote Raúl Yzaguirre’s The Values We Live By:
“We are as ’white‘ as Cameron Díaz, and as ’black‘ as Sammy Sosa. We are brown, we are red, and we are yellow. We are Arab and Jew. We are European, African, Asian, and Native American. ...For Latinos, it is not the color of one’s skin that determines a person’s worth; it is the quality of his or her values, culture, ethics, and manners. For ours is a welcoming and inclusive culture that is ever open to enrichment.”

  7. Everyone check out the youtube six part Walter Cronkite's series "The Disastrous War On Drugs" He tells it like it is and maybe now in death we can draw attention to this serious disastrous war. Bill, you have the power to let millions know the truth about this war on drugs. It wastes all resources and needs to cease. Mr. Cronkite's videos are awesome and the public needs to know what Walter Cronkite had to say. Thanks

  8. Bill you've always been my hero for speaking your mind and I believe saying what's important, but I found your comments about Michael Jackson very disappointing and thoughtless. You said "all he ever did was bleach his skin", is that really all he did? Did Michael Jackson not transcend the music industry?, did he not shattered music records?, did he not break the color barrier of MTV for so many black artist?, did he not break records for the most charity's supported by an artist? What about all the millions of dollars he raised for sick and poor children and animals? When you mentioned forgive him for his sins, what sins were you were referring to? The bogus child allegations that he was found innocent of? It was only three days after his death that the first kid who accused him came out and said to reporters that "Michael never touched him" and that his father forced him to lie to escape poverty. You clearly did very little research Bill. You acted as if it was only America mourning his lost and not the entire world. I guess you ignored the vigils and memorials that were held for Michael Jackson in London, France, Canada, Australia,Japan,China, Germany, and even Pakistan and other countries. You criticized Michael for his nose jobs and "bleaching his skin" How hypocritical of you, when a few shows ago you applauded Cher's daughter for getting a sex change which is a complete change to the physical anatomy. Have some respect for the dead, this isn't like when Jerry Falwell died you and Christopher Hitchens and many others criticized him for his hate speech and I was in agreement with you. But what did Michael ever do or say to receive such animosity. Michael never preached hatred, he preached love. Yes he was different and that is what we define as "strange". Michael's upbringing was different and most certainly lead to psychological issues that could of brought up his drugs issues. Is he at fault for how he was raised? He was told his nose was ugly by his father while being abused, he was diagnosed with vitilligo in the 80's. These are all factors that lead to his physical changes. But Bill you choose to be as judgmental as the religious nuts you so rightly criticize. Don't be like them Bill, not like these judgmental, religious, hypocritical nuts on the right. Michael Jackson will be remembered for his record breaking music, amazing dance moves, and great humanitarian efforts. It's easy for everyone to ridicule him for all the false things he was accused of rather then for the great things he actually did. I hope next time you mention the great things he did and give us a more balance view on the man Michael Jackson, my greatest hero.

  9. Bill, the notion that the white man wrongfully ruled America up until now is a burning example of liberal stupidity. Do we question why Japan has for millenia been ruled by the Japanese? Do we question why China's ruled by Asians? America was founded, designed and created wholly by the white man and it was ours to rule. We are the creators of all civilizations, whether in Egypt or the Americas. We came to the Americas first, via the arctic shelf, 17,000 years ago. That's a fact. The Clovis arrowhead of the ancient Americas is directly akin to the Seleutrian arrowhead of France- nothing like the Mongolian weaponry of the time. Besides, Caucasian skeletons have been found in the Americas dating back farther than all others - to 7000 years ago. Civlization in the Americas was born on the East Coast, indicative of a migration from Europe. The Mongoloid bloodline created nothing, but slowly and surely took over the genes of the creators, the way Mexicans and blacks may due to America one day. Then, we'll all be muddied like India and people can deny that white people were ever involved in the creation of the U.S.

He and Sarah Palin are the only ones licensed to use deadly force against intelligible speech. But heckuva job with the Michael Jackson commentary, Brownie.

  13. The Irish are awesome, thank you very much. Read my whole comment dillhole. I said the Mongoloids eventually came in from the west, from the behring strait, just like the mexicans are doing right now on the u.s. Border. The mexicans and blacks genes Could take over the gene pool here and one day we could all look like what we think of as native Americans. People can then deny that whites were ever here and ever had anything to do with this civilization, when in fact we created it and the lesser peoples genes took over, which resulted in an idiocracy where the civilization became only a dilapidated version of it's former glory

  14. Great show July 17th, I especially enjoyed Bill's remark to the Republican in regard to healthcare reform:"Don't you guys (Republicans) want to be on the right side of history for once?"

  15. What's to read Crusader? I was responding to a direct quote from what you said!

As far as the filthy wife beating Irish go... Those red headed niggers developed freckles as genetic mutations to cover the bruising, after thousands of years of being beaten in their cribs by enraged drunken parents who were impatient with their little piglets, while waiting for them to grow up to the point where they could rape 'em without killing them the first time out.

    Oh, wait...

Not the Irish, I was thinking about something else altogether...

  16. Hi Bill,

Love you and your show. I figured out a plan that will covertly lead to universal care without raising taxes or adding to the deficit! It's called the 5 Dollar Revolution.

It raises 5-10 billion dollars from everyday people by asking most of the uninsured to put 5 dollars a week into a national health care fund. Most of the uninsured are working people who just can't afford the insurance premiums or young people who don't feel the need for insurance.

I believe the reason health care is having such a hard time gathering support is because people don't have a plan to get behind, they haven't been given a vision.

The 5 Dollar Revolution ultimately raises 40 billion dollars from everyday working people. Add in a fraction of the president's health care savings (the 600 billion he saved from cutting waste) and you have the plan fully funded and ready to take off.

Here's a real hint Mr. Maher, at how the game is being played. It only cost a little over 400 billion to cover people under Medicaid, which would be solvent if they weren't constantly borrowing from it and they hadn't decided to add Bush's prescription health care scam- I mean- plan (which added over 100 billion dollars a year.)

Let's think about that number again. Only 400 billion to insure the sickest, weakest, oldest almost always unemployed people in the country? But we're constanly being told it will take a few trillon to cover the uninsured, most of whom are healthy and working.

Help me, Bill! I need to get the word out. i think we can bypass congress and get to the president and he can present this plan to the American people and they will put the pressure on congress. When this thing is up and running (I have proof that it can work on my site The 5 Dollar Revolution.com) the insurance companies will either drastically cut their rates or die the death of the dishonorable. (Can you tell I'm a writer?)

Thanks for giving me a chance to present my case. Love you long time, Bill Maher!

  18. I can understand that you're a comedian and all but what you said about Michael Jackson was totally disrespectful. I mean the man just died and you're making wrongful comments about him. He is one of the few people I do look up to in the world. It really angered me. I understand that you're trying to get a laugh in but you took it too far when you said what you said about the King of Pop. It doesn't matter what he did in his personal life. He's human like everybody else. No one is perfect. With that being said I think you owe him an apology. He's a hero to african americans and all other races around the world. So please take it easy with the harsh comments. R.I.P. Michael

  19. I love MJ's music, but the man was apedophile. He wasn't a full-blown toucher, but he slept naked with little boys. He probably thought that was OK. He was messed up by his strange youth. That being said, he's still a pedophile, so don't turn him into chocolate jesus. Blacks need to get thicker skin, which I thought they did have but apparently not. You dis on one pedophile from their community and they come pointing fingers yelling "meanie-meanie."

  20. How do you know? An accusation isn't proof. If you weren't there, you're just specualting. How would you like it if people accused you of something that you could never fully seperate yourself from? That's what an accusation of child molestation will do to ANYONE. I hope you never know what it's like to be falsely accused (which i believe he was and since he was never convicted or caught on tape like a real peodfile still out there making music) then MJ deserves the presumption of innocemce because he was never proven guilty.

  21. Bill...

    Consider this...

They keep rambling on about the deficit...the escalating estimate of the cost of health reform... taxing the rich some more...yada yada yada...same old shit...

I have to admit that I am discouraged by the continuing failure of the feds to implement effective controls on the financial system, as well as the continuing abuse of "bonuses" by institutions that just recently counted on the American people to keep their asses in business...

How about taxing their bonuses - at a rate that takes everything above 10-15% above their contracted pay...setting a cap on them...

Same thing with the oil companies and their record profits - cap the profit that isn't used for development of resources...

And last, free the educational system from the expense associated with sports...make the pro teams that directly benefit from the sports opportunities asociated with public education cut a little out of their obscene salariets to pay for that up-coming talent...

That should generate some money for the country either directly or in savings. The bastards and certainly deserve it for taking advantage of John and Jane Doe for so long...

  24. Bill - I always enjoy your off beat opinions on things and often even agree with you - but your Michael Jackson comments were way off base last week and seem as though the extent of your frame of reference on the subject is based on US Weekly stories.

I support your right to an opinion on the subject of Jackson, but unfortunately your attitude has served to champion the opinions of the homophobes and bigots across the country who need little prodding to go on a gay bashing binge. Jackson most likely wasn't gay (so what if he was), but in your labeling of him as a pedophile, you opened the door to every yahoo in earshot to open verbal fire on the man.

He was eccentric towards the end, but had a number of illnesses, including lupus, and drug addiction, that dramatically affected his behavior and appearance - which is probably what draws the most ire from those that love to hate him - the audacity of becoming ill and old right in front of our eyes. Imagine! (It's documented that pretty people are usually judged as honest and believable - while less attractive or odd looking people are usually held in suspicion and doubt).

In review of the facts in his court case, there's not a scrap of evidence to prove he was guilty of the charges brought against him - only suspicion and an intense national desire to find "the weird looking guy" guilty. He did not sleep naked with boys - he slept in the same room on the floor in pajamas, which was absolutely stupid considering his position and wealth, but not criminal.

He was someone's father, son, brother, and for many artistic inspiration - so even though you don't like him, please don't fire up on him - there are so many other topics for you to take on that you can give an apt opinion about.

FYI - on the subject of his kids, I know plenty of mixed race children with blonde hair and blue eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mvrk if u think a black person was capable of concieving MJ's kids you're fucking nuts. And he wasn't just funny looking, he was a freak of surgery, surgery he did to look like a white person. Lupus doesn't shrink your nose or enhance your facial bone structure to be more Caucasian. Neither did he get those facial surgeries and skin lightening to cure any disease. He wanted to look whit, but failed of course, instead becoming an alien. I don't need to see the grand jury testimony. I know what he professed proudly himself in words and public behavior. He clearly didn't grasp the concept of appropriate when it came to interacting with little boys. I don't think he was a bad man his childhood ducked him up. Nonetheless, he was a freak and blacks need to let go of white chocolate Jesus

    ReplyDelete
  26. Owell the man is dead. What else is there to say. Its a shame that you can't die in peace without being talked about. Why let him go if we haven't let past talented black musicians go. And personally we have no right to judge him about the child abuse case. If we weren't there and didn't see any of this the we should talk about anything we know nothing of

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Nonetheless, he was a freak and blacks need to let go of white chocolate Jesus"...

    White Chocolate Jesus...

    ...not bad.

Did you come up with that one yourself, or did you read it on one of your hate group sites?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing that Jackson wasn't a freak from hell, who should have been locked up with O.J. some time ago...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hey by the way bill, the NAAWP shtick was actually more realistic than you thought. white people can use an

  30. You're wrong Bill that "racists" vote republican. I am what most libs would call a racist. I wouldn't call myself that, but I also don't shy away from the term. I and many like me voted for Obama. I also voted for Kerry and Gore. For one, I'm an environmentalist. Two, the neo-con republicans are puppets to the international Jews. Not the regular Jews, whom I actually disproportionately get along with, though they know fully where I stand on their nazi religion and the top Jew financiers and Fed puppetmasters. Let's call the international Jews Nazi Jews for short. These Nazi Jews have one aim, to have the superpowers of the world fight amongst themselves, so that they can clean up the pickings of the aftermath and finally take over, a descendent of David ruling the world from Jerusalem.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You F ing Jews. It should be no surprise why people dislike your kind. what the hell would you know about being black. and if the media lack any ethics, why would i suspect a blood sucker like you would. If you had 1/10 of the talent mike had, or gave the world 1/10 of what he gave maybe i would consider turning your show on again. believe you me, when you die, there will be no momuments for u, and no singing in the streets. they will shuv your jew ass in the ground and forget about you. just like i will do with your show.

  33. It saddens me to see so much of hate and prejudice in people in this beautiful world! "I don't know if Michael was a pedophile or not just like I don't know if there is a God or not". But I know this "If he was guilty I'm sure all the bashing from haters Media, all the sleepless nights, all the pain he went through during his self destruction process, name calling etc should have been worse than hell, if there is one, for him. But, what if HE WAS INNOCENT???(As we all know he was acquitted of all 14 counts in 2005, yes he paid off in 1993 reason for which is too gory to describe here.) Can any MAN leave alone someone as famous and sensitive as him take the humiliation and pain he went through for NO REASON???

I was never a great fan of Michael, though once in a while his music was a part of my life,(its so catchy you can't ignore it:)) but after his death I did some research and have become a great admirer and I can put it no better than Mr. President himself" He was a SPECTACULAR PERFORMER and a MUSICAL ICON who lead a SAD and TRAGIC LIFE".

Please "do your research before you speak". If you are not interested stay put. He did much more during his golden days, through his music, dance, and actions, than any of us could. I sometimes wonder how much more he would have achieved if not for the child molestation accusations and the MEDIA bashing.

About his children, again, I do not know whether they are "biologically" his or not. But, he is the only father they knew. I ask one QUESTION why is there no such speculation when it comes to "BORIS BECKER'S CHILDREN"? and many such mixed children who sometimes can be 100% white? Shows how discriminated our society is when it comes to race, color, looks, religion doesn't it? and it's the twenty first century? Still a long way to go Michael!!!

I'm not saying Michael was perfect he had his demons but who among us doesn't? I personally believe he was better than most of us. Just know about him, interviews(even Bashier's) , movies, his music videos. Look at it from both sides you'll know what I mean. Put yourself in his place before you judge.

    RIP Michael!
    Love, Peace, Unity and Charity

  35. OK, ya' got a 44 year old man, that sleeps in the same bed with young boys, then loses all interest in them when they reach puberty.

Some of these children claim that this 44 year old whack job has sexually molested them, and they are able to accurately describe his throbbing cock in detail.

Then this poor innocent man/child pays one of these boys millions upon millions of dollars to drop any civil and criminal actions.

Then the other child does go to court, but the jury is packed with stupid motherfuckers such as yourselves, who are all, "Well gee, I wasn't there, so I don't know if he only sucked the little boy's dinker, or sucked his ass hole clean. Without proof, how can I possibly tell... THE FREAK IS INNOCENT!!! YEAH!!!"

  52. Michael Jackson will be long remembered and it is very doubtful that anyone will ever know who Bill Maher is, once his show has run it's course. Maybe not for everyone, but Jackson's music brings back generations of memories and sentiment for pretty much ALL the people I've talked to. Dismissing the value that this music played in many lives, it's pretty shallow and quite frankly Mr. Maher seems to have a jaded attitude about everything anyway. His show offers some bits of entertainment but overall he is lacking as a human being. He seems like a hypocrite to me and he better enjoy the applause while he can, cuz it isn't going to last! He's just controversial that's it! Not any major substance here, just a joke, for a while..."I'm lookin at the man in the mirror"!

  59. I can't believe you all are so tied to this junk. MJ is dead. There was a lot of "smoke" regarding possible pedophelia. But not one of you mentioned the children's parents who basicly sold their children to MJ for the price of a shopping spree.

If he was a pediophyle, he was acting naturally tto that type of nature. What of the parents who would leave their children in that environment. BOTH wrong.

As far as the renta cop accosting and arresting the professor... SHAME on him. He knew he was wrong. He trained others in how NOT to profile. He kept requesting the professor step outside. That would have given a small amount of weight to the arrest because then he would have been considered to be in public.

The moment we begin to ignore police abuse of authority because the victim is not of our type of ethnic background, we all lose.

The police have gone crazy drunk with power every since 911. We are inching ever closer to resembling prewar Germany. Will we all claim we couldn't see or didn't know what was happening?

  63. Great point. I recently spoke with a veteran on medicaid and he said his benefits were great. He supports expanding the plan and says the tax hike of about 4% wouldn't even be felt. Medicaid gets a bad rap but it's mostly misinformation by big business. Vets are a different story. Some of them do get horrible care. Yet, USAA has an awesome reputation and they cover a lot of vets and military personnel. They get some of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the country.

Think about it. if some one molest your kid would you let them get off by paying 20M or put them in jail. The second kid that accused him was from the make a wish foundation, he had like two weeks left to live but he survived the whole court process? It's all bull shit you all overlook his extraordinary talent and great humanitarian efforts. He's a Legend and always will be and for every hater there are 10,000 Mj fans. 65. Boy is Bill on the wrong side of this healthcare thing. This whole show seems to have been tailored to cheer the "inevitable" passing of Obamacare, without a shred of criticism for it. How can you ignore the fact that it leaves the insurance power structure in place, and would deliver them a new captive market in the form of consumers who would now be forced to buy their insurance? How can you be happy for the fact that "Harry and Louise" are on the side of this garbage? Those two are shills for the insurance and pharmaceutical companies! Do you really think those companies are going to bankroll advertising for a plan that will cut their profit margins??? We're not getting a plan that will keeps costs down and level the playing field. We're getting a plan that will dump the sickest Americans onto the government plan, and force everyone else to buy theirs from the private industry, even though the costs will be the same, or higher than they are now. Not to mention the fact that this week even democrats are saying it won't pass without republican support. What happened to the sure thing Mr. Maher?

I'm always amazed at how smug Bill can be when he's so obviously misinformed. What a partisan hack.

Okay, some of the blogs you get on your website sound pretty stupid. It would be nice to be able to have a coherent conversation with someone without it turning it to a bunch of venomous crap. You really don't know any regular people. I think you just have to look for the regular people - search for them. It would be great if you could disguise yourself and immerse yourself into some small town where they don't know you and have never seen your face. The price of being from Hollywood. The people that you hate are people that you don't know.

  68. Bill, you really gotta get real about racism in this country. You wanted to use thata Harvard professor as an example that whites still oppress black. Wrong! Anyone who thinks that a black, latino and white (who happens to teach anti-profiling) cop who arrested a black man trying to break into a house is racist is a damned fool. Of course, the arrogent eact coast Negro didn't just immediately explain that it was his house. Why? Because blacks like him are egomaniacal pieces of shit. You Bill are right. Even though Barack was elected, there is so-called racism in this country. However, you neglect where and why this racism exists. I was not born upset at certain people, nor was I taught by my family to be that way. It was through my own observations, right or wrong, that I came to such conclusions. Too many times I saw blacks beat white people when we dare venture into their hood, and when the cops showed up, not one black person would step up as a witness for the truth, in the white people's favor. And I've seen the cops just move on, even though the white man and woman were bleeding from the nose and mouth, her hair partially ripped out. But, no. We have to stomach constant nationwide stories of whites beating blacks, or gays, or Mexicans. The media loves to latch onto those. Too many times I've seen blacks complain about so-called oppression, whether it be from cops or others, where their experience was no different than those I've had at the hands of white cops and the like. Except, I don't go around bitching about police brutality. I also know history, world history, for the past thirty thousand years. That's how long the white man haas risen above all other races. I don't think the "intstitutional racism and oppression" card can apply to the stone ages. Unless, of course, God's a racist. Get real Bill! Besides, the other races are for more racist. You experienced a hint of this when you dared dis on white chocolate jesus (MJ). Did you not hear the anti-Jewish venom spewed at you because you dared not kiss every region of the black community's ass?!

SEXISM and The REPUBLICAN PARTY .. By Daphiny
This was my response to so many people, friends and acquaintances, I was talking to who were saying that Boehner and Shelby really weren't using any planes for outrageous vacations with family and friends, they were good men with great moral character and they were conservatives working hard to save taxpayers from the wild spending Democrats and it is all some Liberal Conspiracy and lies..

    The Response ..
What I don't understand is why its so hard to believe that House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) are using planes to go party with family and friends? They are men, old white republican men at that. Why do some feel the need to excuse them for just about anything?? I live in Louisiana, we know a little something about old white crocked politicians who are sometimes treated better than the local Bishop, and there too adds to the madness of this little spit of land hugging the Mississippi River, everyone's Catholic .. There's an entirely different story, well not so different just different names, well maybe not all different but a lot of new ones.
    PART 1

    ReplyDelete
  72. Anyway's back to our wonderful politicians, Our beloved Governor Edwin Edwards, and trust me when I say, there are many who would still love Edwards, no matter the crime, and then there's a few of the recent batch, Louisiana's David Vitter who enjoyed visiting grand "Houses" on the main street that goes from the river to the lake, Canal Street, and I believe the poor woman somehow earned a nickname including it, we love our characters in the south especially here in New Orleans, back to Senator Vitter who is still in the Senate, he's a Republican, the women involved were vilified and prosecuted, Vitter patted on the back because I guess the GOP was glad he wasn't Ted Haggart or the Republican from Florida who liked to smoke a meth filled pipe and then smoke the pipe that was filled with a 22 or so year old young man, and it wouldn't be right if didn't mention William Jefferson and his magic pie crusts, I wish I knew which WALMART he got those , cant bake pie but I'd sure learn, well at least he was prosecuted and faced with losing all his money and stock but the difference was he was a Democrat....What Senator Vitter did was a felony in Louisiana, its called CRIMES AGAINST NATURE...I know for a fact had it been a GAY LESBIAN or TRANSSEXUAL, we would have served time and been made to register as a sex offender, but he got out of it ...It just makes you think, hmmm, how come him?? Just odd, and there are long lists of Politicians and the things they have done, most are just patted on the back and sent on their way, at least the REPUBLICAN males...
Some have made really mean sexist comments about the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and something as silly as her plane.. Something about how she demanded a certain plane and all, "like a typical woman", Then I read that it wasn't Nancy Pelosi who requested an upgraded plane. It was Newt Gingridge and the secret service that decided this after 9/11 because the speaker was 3rd in line for the Presidency and that with a larger plane, it wouldn't need refueling stops... her home district is 2800 miles from D.C.
    PART 2

    ReplyDelete
  73. always wondered why Newt Gingridge would stick his neck out for a Democrat, especially a liberal one from San Francisco and who was a woman. Then I read Former Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) probably was backing Speaker Pelosi because he himself was infamous for using government planes routinely to fly himself and his two top staffers, Scott Palmer, the chief of staff, and Mike Stokke, the deputy COS, from Washington D.C. to a small airport near his home in Illinois, which made me ask, did this little airport benefit, did anyone other than Speaker Hastert??
Why does it seem REPUBLICAN's more times than not, and older WHITE REPUBLICAN MALES at that, who constantly attack and question the integrity of others and usually the ones who are screwing the country, when its female politicians, they feel the need to take out their hateful sexist crap out on these women, why is it overlooked and in a way OK' D?
This sexist good ole boy crap needs to end. These republicans accuse many of having a "hidden" agenda, especially the democrats, such as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other female senators and house members..During a time that should have been welcomed with great celebration, by all Americans, a latin woman being selected for the Supreme Court for the first time, some of these same older white males came out so strongly against her, and tried their best to discredit her.... And as you watched these Republican males get to the mic one by one, you just wondered, what made him hate women so badly, what made that one hate them so badly..These were men who's own moral character could have been questioned from past actions in their own lives. But the GOP Brotherhood wouldn't allow that. Yet again another sign of how these men are, had any of these women acted half as bad or had any thing in their past that most of these current male politicians do, they would have been destroyed in the media and public long ago...
It takes very little to see what these certain individuals think of women, their treatment of Sarah Palin, and trust me it took a lot for me to look at Sarah Palin and feel sorry for her... I am a liberal democratic M2F transsexual, exactly the sort her and her friends in WASILLA would have enjoyed burning at the stake while they bar-B-qued moose, bear or some other poor animal that happened to cross her path, anyway, back to the point, I personally believe she wasn't really ready for what she was thrust into nor was she able to stand up to the men pushing her this way and that way, they felt the need to dress her, felt they needed to pick out her clothing, deciding what sort of woman "they" wanted to run with their champion John McCain, who in all honesty belongs on a smuckers jar, not as president.. I think if you are old enough to be on a SMUCKERS jar you should have to retire from politics..Sorry, back to Palin, even though the GOP picked out her wardrobe, she in the end was attacked for it, shoot even I joked about it and her too..The wild thing was you didn't notice many of those republican males who told her what to say, what to do, how to act, bring the family on stage, especially the kids "voters love that" but when the attacks came the white republican males vanished. Then there was her look, you could tell her stylist were STRAIGHT, they made her look like an old woman who jumped out of the T. V., they made her look like Mrs. Beaver, hell she even wore pearls for Gods sake. But I guess this was the idea that most of these old farts thought of and then there was the religious zealots, I am sure they approved. At least in her last few interviews she looks well fed and healthy and happy. I do wish her well especially now that she's finally gotten away, away from her handlers and away from the good ole boys of the GOP....That could be a book title or movie name, The Good Ole Boys of the GOP.. hehee
    PART 3

    ReplyDelete
  74. PART 4
What I hope more than anything is that people paid attention, I have been for years thinking Republicans were not only SEXIST and CLASSIST. Hopefully Americans have learned a lot about what many of these men really are, who they are inside. How they treat others who aren't like them, be they another race, religion , poorer etc....I surely cant be the only one who thinks and sees this, I really hope I am not, hell I may be the nut, ya never know..... They tried so hard to stop the selection of Supreme Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor, not only was she a woman, but, she was latin, I would have loved to have heard what went on when these guys discussed this fantastic lady ... Another thing what was a little amazing was that they didn't hide it, and I am not sure that was a good thing or not, if treating such a great women so badly becomes O. K., then we all lose. Now Hillary Clinton....the 5 year pre-election madness when Hillary Obama and McCain were at it. They attacked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton relentlessly and out in the open. Sometimes the sad part was that not as many people stood up for her either as I thought they should have, things worked out wonderfully but she deserved much better, and she went through hell to get there.. These past few years should have been a huge eye opener which has hopefully shown a bright light on the blatant rampant sexism and hate in the REPUBLICAN Party. From Glenn Beck saying horrible things, to Rush Limpbaugh saying the mean horrible things he is infamous for, to some crazy right wing organization now who's only purpose is to disrupt town hall meetings. Saying horrible things about the elderly and ill, and that is something I am sad to say, Sarah Palin is following them again, its a shame she isn't anything to them but sheep, she so wants respect from them that she will do and say anything..Someday I hope she opens her eyes.. Thanks for letting me vent and share this madness in my head.. Hope you enjoyed it... And of course This is Just my personal Opinion of Course. Daphiny

  75. health care debacle? Its easy to fix let the people take responsibility- keeping their own health records is a start. One company is making that possible: mylife-mywill.org they give you a bracelet that Identifies you as a member and that also holds your emergency data on a drive. Pretty cool, easy to use and definitely something that could save lives and tons of administration cost.

Nothing puts a smile a physicians face like seeing an imprisoned person in their office. They know they will get paid in full, no bullshit, no asshole looking at the claim refusing pay. Should we not treat ourselves as good as we treat prisoners. If we can pay for them we sure as hell should be able to come up with a workable healthcare plan that will take care of the rest of us???
