QUOTES FROM “REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER”

Following are quotables from “Real Time with Bill Maher” for Friday, June 11th, 2010. “Real Time with Bill Maher” airs Fridays at 10:00PM ET (10:00PM PT, tape delayed) on HBO, with additional replays throughout the week on HBO and HBO 2.

There is good news! BP today finally managed to almost completely stop the flow of information.

- Bill Maher, in his opening monologue

Helen Thomas … They got her on tape saying the Jews should get out of Palestine. Yeah, not good, she had to quit. On the bright side, Hezbollah Magazine put her on the cover of their “Women We Love” issue.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue

This week we had primaries and they say this is “The Year of the Woman.” The women dominated. As opposed to the last election cycle, which was “The Year of the Closeted Gay Republican.”

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue

She [ex-eBay CEO Meg Whitman] said her eBay experience helped her convince voters to buy a load of crap that they don’t really want.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue

My title came from my marriage to my husband, who by the way is a direct descendent of the Prophet Mohammed, and he has both a temporal but also a spiritual role in the eyes of many, not only in Jordan, but in the Muslim world as well, as a direct descendent of the Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. But for me, from the time I married, to this day, to my dying day, I will simply be a public servant.

- Jordan’s Queen Noor

Republicans are filibustering everything. That’s why. It doesn’t magically take 60 votes to do something. Every time they do that, it is a filibuster. And it’s being used more frequently than it’s ever been used in American history before. And Republicans should answer for that because it’s a really stupid way to run the country.

- Rachel Maddow

It seems like we have to tax something, why not rich dead people? Of all the things you could tax; they don’t have any need for the money, on account of that whole being dead thing.

- Bill Maher

Meg Whitman, the former head of, CEO of, eBay and Carly Fiorina, the former head of Hewlett Packard, both said it; they’d like to run the state like a business. Could we please retire this canard? Why should we run the state, first of all, it’s a different skill-set, but a business is there to serve and protect profits. A politician getting elected should be there to serve and protect people.

- Bill Maher

New Rule: Restaurants that serve the greasiest foods have to stop using the ultra thin napkins that only work if you take 1000 of them. These aren’t even napkins. They’re coffee filters. They absorb so little oil I’m surprised BP hasn’t tried them in the Gulf.

- Bill Maher in his “New Rules” segment

New Rule: Someone has to explain to me the difference between eating the new McDonald’s Big Mac Snack Wrap—which is basically a handful of burger chunks, lettuce, and sauce all glopped together on a tortilla—and eating out of the garbage.

- Bill Maher in his “New Rules” segment

New Rule: Katy Perry and Lady Gaga must admit that what they’re really fighting about is who gets to be Cher.

- Bill Maher in his “New Rules” segment

This week's guests were Rachel Maddow, Jon Meacham, Bill Frist, Oliver Stone and Her Majesty, Queen Noor of Jordan.

“Real Time with Bill Maher” will return from its summer hiatus on September 17th.

My name is Joaquin Machado, and I am a mechanical engineering student from Venezuela.

I have been a fan of your show since 2004. I'm a bit more pro-capitalism than you, but I generally agree with you in matters of religion, human rights and greater freedom for everyone, underscored by unflinching accountability for the private and public sectors, etc.

I really enjoy watching your show and will continue to do so, but I was fairly disappointed with the way you addressed Oliver Stone regarding his new documentary.

The fact is that this country used to be prosperous, and now it has become mean and uninhabitable mire, plagued by unrest, theft and death. My grandfather came here to get away from the Second World War and my dad never really had an education, but he’s very intelligent, and he worked all his life to provide for us and get us an education. We operate a gas station here and Chavez has decided to expropriate them. Government officials have com and taken inventory of all the assets bought by us and we are not to move a single thing. We are to be kicked out on the street along with all our employees, to make space for the government sponsored citizens brigades. Many other businesses, small and large, face the same plight (some are already on the street).

It is inhumane.

Another thing the documentary doesn’t mention, is that last week, more than 70 thousand tons of decomposed food were found in containers belonging to the state owned OIL consortium PDVSA, through its subsidiary PDVAL, which was created to “democratize the food sovereignty of our nation” and operated by the very same citizens brigades, but at the command of high government officials, who seem to have discretionary control of all public assets.

Rampant crime with about 100 dead per week and a kidnapping every 37 hours (I’m not shitting you), jailed journalists, mounting inflation, failure of infrastructure with electric and water rationing, deterioration of public buildings, streets and expropriated industries, … These things aren’t mentioned by Stone or Penn or Glover.

You see, it’s really not a matter of style or race or quirkiness. It has nothing to do with whether the US sees Chavez in a bad light because of his antics or whether he looks like a Latin American or a European. The real issue is a matter of whether he has done a good job or hasn’t… and as for his uncomfortable relationship with the US, that was his own doing. He started a verbal confrontation with the US, and Columbia, and the private sector, because he needs an enemy to blame for the increasing violence and the decreasing quality of life in our country. He rallies all of his people to fight and die against empire, by expropriating prosperous businesses, attacking private and public autonomous universities, harassing the private news media outlets and throwing people in jail left and right.

(continuation from prev. post)

Why haven’t I left? My family is here; my girlfriend and her family are here. My friends are here (at least some). Why should we leave when there is space for everyone in a country that up to ten years ago, never had issues with class struggles or racism? Besides, I want to finish my studies because I don’t yet have the means to study or live abroad.

Why hasn’t HE left? In 2008 he wanted to reform the constitution to turn the country into a “true socialist nation” and was voted down. However, there are no checks and balances in our system any longer. None of the governmental institutions remain autonomous, so he has exerted pressure over them to pass his reform, bit by bit, through presidential decrees and Supreme Court rulings.

This September we have parliamentary elections, but last year (after the electoral loss) the Electoral Council redrew the political map, so that the opposing sectors will chose a minority of seats, while the pro-government areas have been assigned more than they should have. We only have one legislative body and roughly speaking, 58% of the population will choose 41% of the congressmen.

Chavez also uses the resources of the state to finance and promote his campaigns, including a prerogative that allows him take over every single radio and TV channel at any time, for as long as he wants, to say or do anything he wishes. Add to this the fact that opposition leaders (including college students) are being politically disabled, incarcerated, or threatened under the ropes, and what do you have?

You tell me Bill.

Do the research. Get a Spanish speaking writer to peruse our media and our tweet feeds. Get Viggo Mortensen or Geraldo Rivera on your show to discuss this topic. Maybe even Penn Jillette might know something about it.

Finally, to put in context another concern I saw addressed on your show, I’ll say this. Our president is an avowed Marxist who yearns for the power that Russia had over the US. We have many natural resources, including considerable uranium deposits, and I heard reports to the effect that they were being mined by Iranians under the guise of bicycle factories in the vicinity. It wouldn’t surprise me to find this to be true: that Chavez is collaborating with Iran in the proliferation un nuclear weapons to create a new “socialist” axis power (meaning “communist” axis power of course). China is too mature a nation to go along with such nonsensical pipedreams, but I wouldn’t put such notions beyond the mind of a pair of megalomaniacs, including our self proclaimed “Champion of the people” and also “Sword of Bolivar”.

I don’t want to leave here. I love this place, but fearing for my life and the life of my loved ones every hour of every day is beginning to take its toll. If it comes to being expropriated, I’ll live off a meager part time salary till I finish my thesis, and as soon as I get my title, I’ll get my ass out of here and start working to bring my loved ones with me. But with such a gross exodus of Venezuelan professionals, and a worldwide economic crisis, will I be able to find opportunities?

“Communism possesses a language which every people can understand - its elements are hunger, envy, and death”, Heinrich Heine.

This is no socialism.

Bill, your comment about the US media having a pro-Palestinian bias just shows you're too stupid to understand the situation.

It also shows you've never picked up a newspaper from any country but your own. The world's press is overwhelmingly more even-handed than the virtulently pro-Israeli American press. Yes, even Israel's own press is more even-handed than the American press.

If you want to argue that the US press is justified in its pro-Israeli stance while the whole world is wrong (not a surprising worldview for any American to hold), fine. But don't deny the US press is overwhelmingly biased in favor of Israel.

Conspiracy Theory #111000111

I think the BP fiasco is going to escalate until we have eastern & southern hemisphere powers operating in the Gulf the way our government fronts for the hostile neighbors in the middle east. If China were the military force plumbing the Khazakstan oil reserves, Russia & India would be considering a nuclear strike. Since we aren't part of their traditional hatefest, we are the designated NWO gophers. Therefore it stands to reason that in order for the NWO to move against the USA and forcibly establish the NAU, foreign powers will be used to defer the blame & stun the locals into inaction. Not that these passives they've been subsidizing since '70 pose much of a threat to another coup.

Don't laugh, Bill. As one of the affluent 3% who aren't already beat down your wealth will be appropriated on the grounds of serving the other 97%, who won't see a dime of benefit either.

You see Bill, being socialist is like being pregnant: first you have to be screwed all the way, and you can't be a little pregnant.

Its hurricane season; kiss the largest living reef in the world good-bye.

I am a physician from Venezuela under a non immigrant visa having to do all over again my subspecialty training. I would like to correct Mr. Oliver Stone about Hugo Chavez being reelected cleanly three times. Hugo Chavez was elected the first time clean with a majority of only approximately 35% of the population who voted. He has centralized and taken control of all powers, manipulated referendums and, paid foreigners for votes in exchange of citizenship and changed laws to favor himself among many other irregularities. Mr. Oliver should ask himself why 40,000 physicians have left Venezuela to start from zero again their careers in Europe and USA besides many other venezuelan citizens. I wonder how much money from venezuelan tax payers he and Sean Penn received for their visit?

Bill I've been a great fan of yours since the 90's and appreciate the efforts you've made in criticising those in power and talking about those subjects that are verboten in the American media.

However, with respect to the most recent overtime comments about the current Palestinian issue; I simply think you're wrong.

Like most people I don't have dog in this fight and equally, I find both sides fairly odious in their behavior and thinking. But when you said that the Palestinians were offered 98% of their land and they dropped the ball is not factual.

Ehud Barak, presented orally at Camp David that Israel would retain (1) most of Jerusalem, (2) the largest Jewish settlements, located on the most fertile lands in the West Bank (3) most of the West Bank water aquifers, and (4) direct military control over the Jordan River valley and adjacent mountains. The Palestinians would be allowed three Bantustans separated from each other by Israeli armed forces, roads, and settlements. The new Palestine would not gain full sovereignty nor would it be in control of over Arab East Jerusalem and the Muslim religious sites on the Temple Mount.

All this is completely verifiable both in the Israeli press and in reviewed academic papers.

Second, with respect to the Gaza invasion of 2008-9, you sternly put the blame on Hamas' shoulders for "firing rockets" into Israel proper. The only problem with that is according to Israeli newspapers, "Hamas did not fire a single rocket into Israeli territory during the cease fire, and only began after Israel crossed its border and killed 6 members of Hamas."

Third, the Geneva Accord (2004), which was an expanded version of both the Camp David discussions (2000) and Taba (2001), was found to be generally acceptable to the Palestinian leadership along with Jimmy Carter and Colin Powell. The agreement gave a detailed program for a 1-1 land swap and other aspects of a settlement, and "was about as good as is likely to be achieved" according to long time political dissident Noam Chomsky.

The US government under Bush did not green light it and Israeli government at the time completely rejected it along with the majority of both Israeli and Palestinian public.

Given the obvious religious dimensions and zealous propagandizing by many in the American media (ie. Thomas Friedman), I'd hope you'd exhibit a bit more scepticism of the "official" history of the situation as offered up by those same characters who claimed tonnes of WMD were buried in the deserts of Iraq!

Lifer said...

I thought your Helen Thomas joke was funny. However, I'd wish you had Andrew Sullivan on last night's program, to address her statement and whether entire media is pro-palestinian nonsense. {As you may know, a number of persons have labelled him as an anti-semite for opposing Israel's current actions and their response to the Goldstone report).

Sullivan asked who in the feckless MSM is going to ask these questions: "When are you going to get out of Afghanistan? Why are we continuing to kill and die there? What is the real excuse? And don't give us this Bushism, 'If we don't go there, they'll all come here.'"

In 2002, she asked a question that few others at the White House would have dared: "Does the president think that the Palestinians have a right to resist 35 years of brutal military occupation and suppression?"

According to your answers in the overtime segment, it would appear that you are firmly in the Bush Camp on this one!

I have been a fan of Bill Maher for a very long time, I think I have been watching him since the early 90's. I have always very much enjoy his honesty and candor in face of controversial issues. But on the last episode with Oliver stone, I was somewhat surprise at his reaction to Oliver stone statement that the people of Gaza are suffering and his response with that Israel was protecting itself against the rocket being fired at them, mentioning that 10,000 missile was fired at them , but omitting that a lot of it was fired during the invasion of Lebanon.

I am a Buddhist by birth so I do not favor Jewish over Muslim or whatsoever, but I think that more and more people like myself who are on the fence on this issue are getting convince it is a land grab and in the long run can not lead to peace.

I will continue to watch Bill Maher, but maybe not as religiously as before. The coldest of his answer to Oliver stone reminded me in sad way of the right wing rhetoric that he so often satire.

Anyway, my fist blog, something disappointing worthwhile writing about

I have been a fan for many many years, but I must take issue with your inflexibility towards the Palestine/Israel situation.

Time & time again you encompass the entire Palestine issues by referring to Hamas. I don't support Hamas either, but there is so much more to the entire issues than Hamas, and your constant use of them as the only refernce point shows either a) your ignorance of the entire history between Palestine & Israel, or b)you are being handled by those powers in the media who support Israel.

Lately you have been called out by your guests, like O Stone & the gentleman on last week whose name escapes me, and frankly your answers to them were pretty feeble, especially for a guy like you. So I ask you please to take a fresh look at the entire situation, look at the UN condemnations, look at the many countries outside of the US who decry Israel's actions, and please return on this issue to a more balanced view.

I never took you for a lacky of anyone. Don't disappoint me now.

Hey Bill

Today President Obama gave this speech about the BP megacrime:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/06/16/president-obamas-oval-office-address-bp-oil-spill-a-faith-future-sustains-us-a-peopl

He identifies the issues/solutions as identical to the wall street megacrimes, you should see it... its all bad management! I would add only that if the US had been doing the drilling we would have done it to much higher safety standards and this would not have happened.

It is moronic to suppose that if we "set the example" and impose unilateral regulations on American companies to avoid polluting and driving species to extinction that other nations will follow our example. As history shows when we regulate ourselves responsibly the irresponsible outsource their toxic operations and continue them with even less oversight wherever possible.

We can go 2 ways with this. We can either impose taxes and tariffs on companies who engage in toxic activities so that our companies are not penalized for the added costs of doing the right thing, or we can take over and manage these activities as they pertain to our business interests ourselves. No more lead in the toys, no more classified active magnetic scanner chips leaking from our Taiwanese partners to organized criminals. It will probably require a little of both.

Cap and trade is lethal to business, while they are both half ass half measures, carbon tax is less volatile in the hands of idiotic bureaucrats.

"Take 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, 1 whole nutmeg, 4 average sticks of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon coriander. These should all be pulverized in a mortar. About a handful each of stone dates, dried figs, shelled almonds and peanuts: chop these and mix them together. A bunch of canibus sativa can be pulverized. This along with the spices should be dusted over the mixed fruit and nuts, kneaded together. About a cup of sugar dissolved in a big pat of butter. Rolled into a cake and cut into pieces or made into balls about the size of a walnut, it should be eaten with care. Two pieces are quite sufficient. Obtaining the canibus may present certain difficulties.... It should be picked and dried as soon as it has gone to seed and while the plant is still green."

Also, to back-up your points about Israel, Kyrgyzstan, a Muslim country nobody cares about, has decided to slaughter one of its own, you got it, Muslim minorities...snore. Why isn't the world recalling all of their ambassadors and declaring Jihad? Where is the outcry? Pretty disgusting.

Hey Bill,
My name is Culley Evetts, I am an onsite geologist currently working in the oil and gas industry. I love your show and watch it "religously". I guess you could call me a fan? You never fail to speak your mind and I think that is a quality that makes this country great. Keep up the good work.
However, I don't agree with you on every aspect. I wish we were less dependant on oil, I think we need to regulate off shore drilling with higher standards, and I think that the unfortunate events in the gulf should have never taken place, as do you. Eventually eliminating our countries addiction is another matter entirely. Our economy is weak and our job market has fallen behind.
Politicians have been pushing education for the past twenty years, but have failed to produce the jobs to go with the degrees. Example; Texas A&M produce 110 graduates with engineering degrees and only 4 received job offers after graduation. All 4 job offers came from the oil and gas industry.

I think that we should push our alternative fuels mainstream and make them a dominate source, but for what ever reason we are not progressing at a progressive rate. We should be further along; with electric cars, solar power, wind generated electricity, and any other less destructive sources.

Something has to change, but when, who's going to do it? There are still billions being made off oil, coal, and gas. As long as that takes place, I see the kick backs provided by those who profit, keeping the alternative sources, the technology, and funding, in the back of the closet.
More or less, what I am saying is this; there are a lot of jobs provided by the oil and gas industry, but many of the employees are reluctant. They just don't have any other options. The blue collar worker is becoming a thing that we are neglecting as a country and as for the white collar, higher educated citizens, they are spending hundreds of thousands on education, only to find that they can't find employment.
Look at any empire or country that has collapsed; Russia, Roman empire, British, etc. They all had one thing in common when the fell; they all had a struggling economy, poor work force, and a growing class struggle.

Bill,

I love your show and agree with you on most things, so I think it's important to point out when you don't quite "get it right".

You spent some time on your last show talking with Rachel Maddow and Jon Meacham about how the US had the biggest military in the world.

Unfortunately, when you make statements like that, it oversimplifies a very complicated subject.

In terms of number of active duty troops, China actually tops the list with over 2 million. The US comes in 2nd with around 1.4 million, roughly the same number as India.

But if you add in reserves who could be called up rapidly in case of a war, the US drops to around 8th on the list, behind Russia, China, and India and those fun-loving North Koreans.

So the US doesn't have the largest military in terms of size. And, as we all know, size matters.

The US does spend more money than any other nation in the world on our military - a lot more. Of course, that is easily explained by the fact that Congress allocates the military budget.

However as a percentage of GDP, the US's defense budget is at 4%, which drops us to about 25th in the world rankings.

The problem with the US defense budget does not start in the Pentagon - it starts on Capital Hill, where most US government problems start. I am very much in favor of a serious discussion on how big the US military should be, but it needs to start with the politicians, not the generals.

Thanks,
Curt

According to basic research of scientists of the National Centre for Scientific Research in Valbonne, France, cannabidiol (CBD) may prevent the development of prion diseases, the most known being BSE (bovine spongiforme enzephalopathy), which is often called mad cow disease. It is believed that the BSE may be transmitted to human beings. In humans, it is known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

Hurry the fuck up, America.

6/18 Britain approves GW Pharma's cannabis drug Sativex (Reuters)

"LONDON, June 18 (Reuters) - GW Pharmaceuticals Plc's (GWP.L) cannabis-derived medicine Sativex has been approved in Britain for treating spasticity in patients with multiple sclerosis, in a landmark decision for the small drugmaker.

It became the world's first cannabis medicine to win regulatory clearance when it was approved in Canada in 2005 for neuropathic pain but its roll-out in Britain and other European markets thereafter is a larger sales opportunity.

GW and Germany's Bayer (BAYGn.DE), which will market the drug in Britain, plan to hold a press conference on Sativex on June 21.

A green light from the MHRA had been expected before the end of June but confirmation of approval will still be a relief to investors, who have seen a series of delays with the product.

Shares in the company jumped 11 percent to a four-year high of 143 pence on the news by 1400 GMT.

GW said last month it also expected a regulatory green light in Spain shortly after the British approval, with other European countries following later.

Sativex will be sold in the rest of Europe outside Britain by Spanish drugmaker Almirall (ALM.MC).

GW will receive a 10 million pounds ($15 million) milestone payment from Bayer as a result of British approval, while a further 2.5 million pounds is payable by Almirall following both regulatory and pricing approval in Spain.

WILL NHS PAY FOR IT?

Questions remain about Sativex's commercial potential."

Aye, you'll all vote ANP. Better than "Don't tread on me" or "Have a cup of tea, dear". There has never been one worse than, "I did not have sex with that woman".

Here is an example of administration illogic:

"The shilling is a unit of currency used in some current and former British Commonwealth countries. The word shilling comes from schilling, an accounting term that dates back to Anglo-Saxon times where it was deemed to be the value of a cow in Kent or a sheep elsewhere. The word is thought to derive from the base skell-, "to ring/resound" and the diminutive suffix -ing.

The abbreviation for shilling is s, from the Latin solidus, the name of a Roman coin. Often it was informally represented by a slash, standing for a Long s: e.g., "1/6d" meaning 1 shilling and sixpence (often pronounced "one and six"); a price with no pence was written with a slash and a dash, e.g., "11/–". Quite often a triangle or (serif) apostrophe would be used to give a neater appearance, e.g., "1'6" and "11'-".

In the United Kingdom, a shilling was a coin used from the reign of Henry VII until decimalisation in 1971. Before decimalisation, there were 20 shillings/pound and 12 pence/shilling, and thus 240 pence/pound. Two coins denominated in multiple shillings were also in circulation at this time. They were the florin, which adopted the value of 10 new pence (10p), and the crown, the highest denominated non-bullion UK coin in circulation at decimalisation (in practice, crowns were commemorative coins not used in everyday transactions). At decimalisation, the shilling was superseded by the new 5 pence piece, which initially was of identical size and weight and had the same value, and inherited the shilling's slang name of a bob." - wikipedia

No wonder they went metric. Why would we trust these people to balance the nation's budget and plan the economy? Now they want to get into insurance? The government looks more like an organized criminal enterprise than a government.

Adopt, adapt & improve.

Don't blame the medium, Bill got turned. In his last season he advocates in favor of illegal immigration, tells Jesse Ventura that 'the new Bill Maher' doesn't advocate legalization, laments that his corporate censors demand a mediocre show instead of a great thought provoking one, that socialism is good and that Hillary is just a sweet little old lady. Pretty fucked up, huh? On top of that Barack Obama's performing to date is what I would expect from the Bush/Cheney house niggers or any of Adolf Kissinger's 3rd Reich, 3rd try organized criminal network (CFR/TLC). Consistent with their all knowing ignorance we are being run to the next great political slaughter.

When I think socialist I think Pol Pot; I think of the NVA child soldiers marching through the countryside executing everyone over 30. The truth is, the stronger the oppressor, the stronger the resistance.

Sacrifice; sacrifice; sacrifice; sacrifice; sacrifice.

Its a long way down from one on one with Gore Vidal.

I think every economic system requires diversity to flourish. I think every church demonstrates socialism in practice: maintaining the status quo, controlling all education to the point of absurdity, in order to produce through ignorance, willing sacrificial victims. Call it religion, socialism, communism, fascism, its all the same: its slavery.

What happened here? What happened to Bill Maher? Watch the Southpark Succubus episode. Bill Maher = Chef, his audience the boys.

You know what the solution is to the Democrats being so similar to the (old) Republicans and the new Republicans being a bunch of extremists? Put all Democrats and Republicans into one party (Republicrats?) and then split off the right-wing nuts into a new party (G-bags = Jezus Teabaggers?) and the left-wingers into a new party (Socialiberals). Or is that too European?

I like that you said religion is the problem but I'd like you to explain this more thoroughly, like that religion is an obsolete system of political control and the problem is the conniving fucks running it are unwilling to face the truth and in what they regard as a power struggle that is in truth only their chickenshit lack of maturity, they are doing a Jonestown on a global scale. Not surprising the political control religions are all judeo christian… Jewish karma backatcha, man.

The Trees by Rush, Hemispheres, 1978

There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their please.

The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade.

There is trouble in the forest,
And the creatures all have fled,
As the maples scream "Oppression!"
And the oaks just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
"The oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light."
Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw.

Hi Bill!

I know you don't know me. I'm just an ordinary guy from Estonia (near Finland and Russia). I just finished watching your documentary Religulous. And Bill, believe me when I say this - Bill Maher, George Carlin, Jerry Seinfeld and Keith Olbermann - that is the list that I will forever keep with me even though one of the abovementioned has left this Earth way too soon.

My reason for posting this comment - I just love you. I love the way you and the people I mentioned discuss matters. It's not only the US that has a corrupt government, Estonia does too. I have tried to wrap my mind around the whole Christian lifestyle and understanding of life, but it's just impossible. I have spent much time discussing the matter with some American born Christians in Estonia and no one has made their agenda more clear than you, Bill!

I thank you for everything that you have done. I truly appreciate your work and I, from the innermost spot of my heart, admire you and George Carlin. It's such a shame that he had to leave us so soon - but he is immortal to every true fan. Keep up what you do and say it as it is! The world needs you and the likes of you - the world is mad and for me the only hope lies in you, Keith Olbermann and George Carlin.

One last thing - it has been a privilege to watch you perform and my dream is to one day meet you and Mr. Olbermann in person. I also would have liked to meet Carlin, but that, sadly, is now impossible. In fact - my sister is Christian and I'm trying to get her to watch your stand-ups and documetary, so one day she might see the light of logic, reason and common sense.

You are an idol! I thank you for existing. Good luck and I hope that you continue your style and never give up educating people while making them laugh.

Well they have passed the Bill, but they have forgotten about the tier V the 99ers and the extra 25 bucks which was the plan. They did this by keeping the media focused on the oil spill and anything but unemployment. President Obama, well what can I say?, His original plan to stop the collpase of the American people was to invest in Welfare and unemployment hoping that by then the economy would make a turn around. Well it is working but there is some major problems not being addressed which I can't cover here. I will make one major point, the rich have adopted the ways of the ones who are suffering and are intentionally not paying on thei second homes which is going to cause the bank to slaughter the middle class. They need to pass a bill to stop these rich snobs who are up to their old games holding the republicans hand as they cross the road right into their ne single mansion.

My desire is to ask Bill at some time to comment on the phrase "common sense". It is evident that what this phrase is, is a cover for a much more common stupidity. It is the phrase the uneducated use to equal themselves with or even elevate themselves above the educated. With this simple phrase the value of years of education is swept away and relegated to the level of wasted time. It reminds me of those who use the sister phrases "educated idiot", "ivory tower", and "intelligencia".

It is a powerful rally point of the anti-intellectuals of the far right and a valued weapon of the likes of, well, do I really need to name them?

Allowed to persist it will aid in the dumbing down of America, and further empower those who would cause the weak minded to vote against their own best interest and be lured into viceral beliefs that appeal to the gut but not the mind.

Facts about human trafficking

There are 27 million slaves in the world today.
At least 14,500 slaves are trafficked each year into the US.
The average cost of a human slave is $90.
The U.S government estimates that between 600,000-800,000 people are trafficked each year across international borders.
One sixth to one half of these people are children.
In 2004 there were 218 million children engaged in child labor.
Many slave-produced goods might reach your home without you realizing their origin.
Your actions will affect global slavery, buy Fair Trade.
It is possible to end slavery in 25 years.
"Slavery probably crept into your life several times today."

Good for Laura Schlessinger! If ya can't call a spade a "spade" except the spades, then it must be some kinda cult thing. I have several words that I can call lowly, violent, white trash, but convenience has given us a word to call low class, ignorant, self absorbed, narcistic, "better than thou" black people --- NIGGER! And it's ironic that THEY use it exponentially more than white people! They should be ashamed, but are two low to care or know the difference.

For all the rest of the decent, self-bettering people of African decent, I offer only black or of African decent, or simply AMERICAN! They can ALL be my friends.

Maybe we should pair all the "niggers" with fundamentalist Muslim extremists to see who wins. I would prefer a bloody draw down to the very last of them. Then we could eliminate gangsta RAP, world overcrowding, and most religious, extremist terror.

People -- what have you done --
locked Him in His golden cage.
Made Him bend to your religion --
Him resurrected from the grave.
He is the god of nothing --
if that's all that you can see.
You are the god of everything --
He's inside you and me.
So lean upon Him gently
and don't call on Him to save you
from your social graces
and the sins you used to waive.
The bloody Church of England --
in chains of history --
requests your earthly presence at
the vicarage for tea.
And the graven image you-know-who --
with His plastic crucifix --
he's got him fixed --
confuses me as to who and where and why --
as to how he gets his kicks.
Confessing to the endless sin --
the endless whining sounds.

Remember the 20B slush fund owebama went down to kick ass and set up? Lets take a look.

1. BP will establish a $20 billion fund, but will pay only $7 billion into it during 2010.

2. BP is a British corporation and has a very large operating entity in the US. About 30% of it’s income is derived from the US.

3. By Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), BP must book the entire $20 billion expense in the year accrued. Therefore, they will book a $20 billion expense in 2010, reducing their US tax liability by $7 billion.

4. He leader also convinced BP to show their concern for the “small people” by withholding dividends to their shareholders for the last 3 quarters of 2010. This reduces their cash outflow by about $7.5 billion, including about 40% of that amount to US citizens. Assuming that the Bush tax cuts will survive through 2010, the US Treasury will lose another $450 million in taxes on that amount.

BP Cash Flow:

Escrow funding ($7 billion)
Dividend saving $7.5 billion
Tax savings $7 billion
Net favorable cash flow : $7.5 billion

US Treasury Tax Receipts:

BP Corporate income tax ($7.5 billion)
BP Shareholders ($0.45 billion)
Net unfavorable tax receipts ($7.95 billion)

The $20 Billion BP is putting up will create a $7.5 Billion positive cash for BP flow this year.

Dear Bill,

I loved your movie "Religulous" but you never found any satisfying answers to your questions.

I just posted this to a CNN commentary. Perhaps you'll find it helpful, or at least thought-provoking.

The Oft-Rejected but Eternally Hopeful Once-a-Baptist Fool

Someday Christianity is going to realize that Jesus-anity, the belief in a Jesus that judges and condemns all those who don't know him by name, is vastly inferior to true Christ-ianity, where everyone accepts that the Christ energy, which is the energy of God's Divine Love, shall save every soul.

Go to 1 John 4:7-20 and see how EVERY soul that Loves is connected to God and a child of God, even Muslims and Buddhists.

When Jesus said that no one can come to the Father except through the Son he was speaking as the only 100% embodiment of the Christ energy of God's Love.

Only through LOVE can one see God – NO MATTER YOUR RELIGION! The Buddha sat under a tree and asked God only one thing – to become a perfect extension of his LOVE. The Buddha was filled to 99.9999% with the Christ energy and Buddhism is an attempt to duplicate his journey.

The Christ energy exists within ALL life-affirming religions and it existed within Mohammad as well.

Religions were created because the world couldn't accept God's first mandate to LOVE each other, which is the Golden Rule – Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Since people seem to have more faith in social clubs, dogma and rules, God created thirty-one flavors of religious ice cream, BUT IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT LOVE!

Christians are outnumbered two-to-one in this world and yet they point fingers at others and claim that others are going to hell AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING, spreading hatred, JUDGMENT and condemnation of others.

I have personally looked Jesus and Jehovah in the eyes, and I have had the devil personally attempt to crush the life out of my body as an immense, unseen mass, just so that I wouldn't send these messages of LIGHT out into the dark world as it stands today.

Before you dismiss me as a fool, I ask you which is more logical, that God would hide his spiritual salvation in a manner that is available to EVERY soul at ANY time in ANY place, throughout ALL of history, or that God would shovel ALL of the souls that lived before Jesus was born into a furnace AND condemn 2/3rds of today's souls to hell as well.

Embrace your religion, whatever it may be, and know that if you dig down to its core, the Christ energy of God's LOVE will be shining back up at you – the Sefirot, if you prefer Jewish Kallalistic interpretations.

Dear Lord, I pray that you won't let the ridicule of what I've asserted commence, or let the hate speak of one religion pounding upon another continue, but You have deemed Free Will immutable, and that is the common view of the world that we live in right now.

God, Jehovah, Allah, Sophia, Gaia and the other myriad names of the One True God, help us and save us from our blindness, our anger, and our spiritual stupidity. Please separate those who can reason with LOVE in their heart from those who can only read words of judgment and hatred in whatever they read.

Bill, Your true atheism borders on vulgar and offensive, but no offense is taken. I only have the love of God for you in return.
See, while your view of Christianity is of the loudest, most judgemental of those claiming Christianity, you are missing the point of it - love.
Even in your great error of disbelief, blashphemy and judgement of God (who is man to judge God), God still loves you, He sent Jesus to pay for your continuing sin even before you recognize it, so that you know you can always turn to Him.

So please come to the true love of Christ, where there is no hate.
Love in Christ,
Andrew

Before basing your decision on others who badly represent Christianity by either judging others, or performing violence in the name of their God would you dare to investigate what true Christianity is?

An atheist journalist by the name of Lee Strobel did just this, investigating who the real Jesus was, and all the claims surrounding His life. the only reason the republican's need the poor and the middle class is, "TO FIGHT THERE WARS FOR THEM"

he won't give you a job, he won't give you and your kids health care, but he will give you a gun to fight his war.

Due to the nukes & internet war is no longer viable.
They need to come up with another way to dispose of the odious groundlings that fail to serve & entertain.

I know I'm completely fucked.

You must receive thousands of messages a day, so I will be brief but to the point.

As a 22 year old gay male in the United States, I am so honored and thankful for the role you play in today's media. You are one of the only current, American public figures that I can honestly say I admire and owe a great deal of my perspective to. You're making such a huge difference, especially to me. You're my hero. Thank you Bill.

Have you ever suffered from bouts of erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation (especially when it mattered the most to you to perform well)?

It’s completely normal. It’s also completely avoidable. And it can be so much better.

Want to turn your sex life from something that gives you anxiety into something that you confidently crave? Babejo Want to know that you can be up for the challenge whenever it presents itself?

No more having to rely on excuses like “Sorry, I guess I had too much to drink”, “I’m just not in the mood tonight”, or “I came that quickly because you just looked so damn sexy”.

It’s time to strengthen your penis for better sex, firmer erections, and legendary lasting power between the sheets. and always get more exercise to make your body be cool such as how to make six pack as fast as possible
