Any politician in favor of tax cuts for the rich (>$500k or >$1000k) on either side of the aisle is ONLY interested in rewarding donors, not helping the economy.

1. Term Limits. 12 years only, one of the possible options below..
A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms
2. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.
4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

Just wanted to give you some food for thought to go with your coffee.
During the slavery era less than 6% white Americans owned slaves, whereas about 2/3 freed slaves turned around and bought slaves. Not to free them, because they didn't. Therefore the probability of Americans descended from the whites of that period being descended from slave owners is almost nonexistent. In fact, it is almost exclusively limited to a very few blue bloods. People like the Gores, Rodhams, Clintons, Bushs, Jeffersons etc. Conversely, the likelihood that Americans descended from black Americans from that era are descended from slave owners is pretty absolute, as the population of black Americans as they share such a small pool of ancestors.
After slavery was abolished *by white people*, white people continued to prey on and enslave large populations throughout the world. They did not discriminate on any one race, nor were they of any one race. They were of the same class; pirates all. In American JD Rockefeller & company legally and illegally immigrated Europeans & Mexicans under false pretenses, then forced them at gunpoint to work in toxic and dangerous mines, throughout the country. They did not have any difficulty hiring criminal enforcers & deputizing them. This went on into the 90s, when finally there was enough public opinion - and rich criminal opportunities slaving throughout the British Empire, buying politicians to dodge & tax the masses here, and industrializing warfare.
