Country First

Whenever we do an editorial chastising America for not living up to its potential, there are complaints. Complaints that I blame America first. Which is silly - I'm not "blaming" America in any particular order. I'm simply of the belief that nothing gets better until you see the problem for what it really is. Republicans have become the party of red, white and blue rose colored glasses. By drowning out criticism with USA! USA!, they prevent this country from healing itself where it needs healing, and that is the opposite of Country First. For those who disapproved of Friday's editorial about Europe and America, here are two others of similar ilk to choke on :)

I was thinking Bella or Uma would be good cat names. However, for more ideas, you can go to this site I just found for some name ideas, meanings, origins, etc.

Good Luck!

binky,

One reason for the Amsterdam show is to show the huckabee people what a real good time looks like in an unquestionably legal context. They don't have to watch, but you know they will; might as well show them some undeniable truth.

The reward for Bill is working his way up the list of the best chibba, from #10 to #1 without getting paranoid about some vengeful republicans paying the cops to bust him. Doesn't matter if he's not breaking any laws, that's never a factor..

Its best to start re-educating the Huckabees in ways that they can't fuck things up for the rest of us.

I think if Bill tried to have more of a party than everyone playing with their vaporizers watching real time, the haters would do a drive by to show their love of truth, justice and the America Way.

When bill said vagino I wondered if he is writing a Belzeresque book describing his legitimate world view - a world he mines for his ironic jokes.

The feminization of the Republican party. Man, would it piss them off to know how gay they are. But of course they are too busy to notice, dealing with all the due process for providing special favors to *some* of their many boyfriends...

When a DA blows his brains out when the sheriffs are at the door to charge him for soliciting sex on the net with an underage boy, I am very pleased.

Take it all, you pigs! You wanted it all then! How do you like me now?

When the issue of gay marriage 1st came up it was not about secular faith against homosexuality, it was about health insurance.

The insurance industry has not provided spousal coverage for gay life partners. These are people in a lifelong relationship that is probably more monogamous than all the cheating dicks out there.

Women, measure it my way - the masculine, the yang.

The gay couples being persecuted are at least as dedicated to each other as any husband to their wife, they aren't trying to pull a tricky dick ;) on anyone.

So, imagine if your health care didn't cover your wife because your social security numbers are both divisible by 10. This is exactly what is being done to the number of people whose SSN is divisible by 10 and who also have a life partner.

Obviously due to the international AIDS crisis and potential risk, the insurance industry has not been forward in promoting coverage for gay couples.

So the insurance lobbyists, all lawyers, jumped in a phone book and came out as clergy. It is inhumane to refuse coverage for some people that is universal for most people, but if its a religulous thing, the shitslide is clear!

Never mind the Abramoff wannabe goons.

Q: Whats really at stake about gay marriage?
A: Insurance industry perceived risk & updating all the actuarial tables.

Note: this implies that every church in which the leaders have championed an opinion on this non-secular issue are taxable. Some of the 'shapers of "public" opinion' - and any creepy millionaires who pay $8 per votes - should be given the rubber glove inspection.

O wild West Wind, thou breath of Autumn's being,
Thou, from whose unseen presence the leaves dead
Are driven, like ghosts from an enchanter fleeing,

Yellow, and black, and pale, and hectic red,
Pestilence-stricken multitudes: O thou,
Who chariotest to their dark wintry bed

The wingèd seeds, where they lie cold and low,
Each like a corpse within its grave, until
Thine azure sister of the Spring shall blow

Her clarion o'er the dreaming earth, and fill
(Driving sweet buds like flocks to feed in air)
With living hues and odours plain and hill:

Wild Spirit, which art moving everywhere;
Destroyer and preserver; hear, oh, hear!

- Percy Shelley, a while ago. Why do we vote in autumn?

Interesting stuff about the Insurance company there, George. Is it what you think or is it also documented ?
Remember when we had the conversation about free entreprise requiring free market ? That was about Lebanon, but come to think of it, it's the same everywhere. I used to think that lobbying was not a bad thing (as a reaction to the french here, because it's a 'bad' notion as perceived by the public, whereas it's still practiced), but it's actually THE thing that errates capitalism as it truly should be, and what I guess, the republican party in its true version would be about.

It reminded of something that happened in Paris, not so long ago. There was a student delegation that opposed the reform of universities here. The minister of education I think, then, said something like we can't indulge every interest group that comes to us with asks. How fucked up is that ? Today, even students are perceived as an interest group.

Hi George and S,
I can shed some light on the whole insurance benefit thing.
I have worked in the HR arena for the last eight years, I am a SME on acquisition and strategy but I do have some benefit knowledge. Every company I am aware of from small privately held to large Fortune 100 companies offer health insurance benefits to same sex couples. Usually they require a joint bank account statement or copy of the mortgage or lease something with both names, to prove that you are a committed couple. Last year when I was buying health insurance, I talked to several companies to see who had the best deal; they all offered coverage to same sex couples.

This is my opinion only, but I don’t think, insurance companies care about who they sell policies to. If someone wanted to buy a policy insuring them and their dog I am sure they would take you money.

I think gay couples are less risk for insurance companies then heterosexual couples, they are not going to need birth control or they are not going to be getting pregnant and having babbies. Two bodies or two bodies no matter what their sexual orientation is.

I have been waiting to go on a rant about insurance companies, I hate them. I know two other consultants who have the exact same policy I have. Recently I had to get a crown, my insurance refused to pay for it saying it was elective. However one of the consultants I know had a baby and everything was paid for by the insurance company. Most company’s insurance plans cover pregnancy 100% even if you are eight and half months pregnant when you get hired. Someone please explain how having a body isn’t fucken elective. The other lady I know eats Twinkies, is over weight, goes to the fucken tanning beds and has the same premium I have.

I am a little salty because yesterday I got my wrist smacked at work, one of the obese associates Mary Beth I am talking 300ILBs was eating Twislers and trying to convince me to have some, she was arguing they are good for you because they are fat free. Then she announced she had to leave early because she was going to the doctor because she has type two diabetes, I couldn’t help it I burst out laughing.

The only reason that Gay marriage was banned in California is because of our good old friend the Church. This whole gay marriage crap exhausts me, why is it even an issue ? If two people love each other and want to make a commitment to each other why do we get to stop them? There is a gay couple that own the condo across the hall from me, they have lived together six years. Please example to me how that would make one bit of difference to me and my life if they got married. The economy is in the shitter, gays throw the best parties no expense spared, we should be encouraging them to get married, it would send retail through the roof.

It’s know of our business, it’s not something we should get to vote on, now it is our business that we are all paying for Mary Beth’s type 11 diabetes. I would like to vote on that.

I am not religious, but I do believe in God. God doesn’t talk to me but thrust me. God doesn’t give a shit if gays can marry or not, I think he is more concerned with real problems, like global warming, poverty, child abuse. Imagine God tallying everything up, he is not going to say well, I gave ye the greatest country ever and ye destroyed it but at least you didn’t let gays marry. Good job.

Later,

Katie

Metatron,

Did you just cast a veiled threat at Bill Maher after identifying yourself as a zealous follower of a superstitious cult?

Is that the best you could do? Why don't you logically champion your ideas? I am pretty sure that any christian who can postulate a deductive proof in this matter will be well appreciated; you could solve all the world's problems.

Where is homeland security when you need them? Where is the Raptor pin trace on yonder potential snappin' brain?

Referring to Metatron (the angel formerly known as Enoch, son of Noah who lived a 1000 years - if you can believe it) in the movie Dogma,

"God has an incredible sense of humor. Sex is a joke in Heaven, and obviously it is down here too. You should see the expressions you people make mid coitus! It makes me sick..."

Alan Rickman played the angel metatron. He's excellent. I hope Severus gets played in the movies as written.

Champion you causes on their merits.

Click here to start asking about gay rights insurance issues

I am not involved, an activist or a pro on this topic. You should ask 2-3 gay rights groups what they know in order to get the best current & historical background.

S. She already has one, ask your kitten her name. Ask this question at least one time a day, preferably just before you go to sleep, and listen to the answers without choosing. Eventually it will come to you, sooner than you think.

Why tear up Palin for thinking that Africa is a country? Obama said he had visited all 57 states; he also spoke of a "breathalyzer" instead of an "inhaler," along with many other gaffes. Obama isn't that eloquent off teleprompter either. Don't even get started on Biden. All politicians are idiots. So are those who get wet or a woody every time some politician speaks.

My point: I don't trust anyone who thinks he/she is smart enough to tell me what to do in every circumstance just because we have some problems. That's what the Germans did in the 30s.

We have some damn tough and complicated problems in this country. Solving them will require all hands on deck...not just a few liberals or a few conservatives...it will require a large majority of Americans working together.

Perhaps you should use your energy to unite folks rather than insult and divide them.

Free enterprise is the only way to ensure new ideas and new ways of doing things are gotten to the table to be discussed by those with free money for all of us to enjoy a new product. The only problem we have is not having more regulation over some people that would harm others for there own self glory. That is all that is needed here, not your social medicine.

I don't agree with social systems that subordinate the needs of its members - and outsiders - to the needs of the collective. The end purpose of society is very basic: because together we have a better chance to live better. If the individual's needs are not the highest priority then its a scam.

I have contempt for pimps selling afterlife insurance.

If the collective works for my best interests then it is not a sacrifice for me to commit myself to the greater good. It is motivated self interest. Some causes are worth the effort. Be sure to know the cause and the plan before you commit.

Otherwise my time is worth more to me than what they are paying.

When the people doing the work are getting screwed they work half-heartedly, if they don't rise up to depose their masters. When they have a vested self interest they bring their all - because they are working for themselves.

We have to salvage our world from what 8 years of Jr writing blank checks to his fraternal brothers; on top of the earlier debaucheries.

Some people think the Obama plan will be socialism. Not true. Investing in the kids & the work force is the cheapest, most efficient way to dig out of Jr's Eternal Pit o' Damnation and Folly, and to permananently change course.

"You got to tell the children the truth
They don't need a whole lot of lies
Because one of these days, baby
Theyll be running things
So when you give them love
You better give it right
Woman and child, man and wife
The best love to have is the love of life."

I absolutely do not consider what Jr has done to be anything less than stupendous crimes against humanity with malice of forethought. Noone could be this stupid, and all systems of checks and balances ineffective.

If I helped Jr and his evangelist masters, would I not also be guilty?

I am very aware how much the whole world celebrated BO's victory and I applaud them. I am living with the questions this raises.

One planet, one people, spaceship Earth, united by unanimous consent. I think John Lennon has described this vision most,
and best.

I like his ideas too. I have reservations about how effective he would be because he would have to defeat the opposition of both the deeply entrenched Democrats and Republicans. Unless he has full sets of blackmail on every sitting federale, I don't think he could be effective. I know he doesn't have the blackmail because he isn't president today.

And yes, that is sexy as hell. Oh and just because McCain lost doesn't mean Americans are stupid. What kind of dumb logic are you trying to promote here??? Go mingle with your own kind. Sorry wilber. I was coming off a tirade & some of it ended up pointed at you.

Grandchildren? Haha. You are on the easy side of parenting... if you just don't have anymore.

I have not been pleased with my recent posts or the way this blog influences my thoughts. I detached it from my email so I don't think about it or respond to lame posts.

Its hard to read some posts & then read email without thinking about it. There is are pretty bizarre perspectives here; I have difficulty ignoring willfully ignorant hypocrits. Mostly because they have slapjacked and hamstrung me more than any other demographic.

The only thing I hate more than idiots is idiots conning other idiots into idiocy.

You didn't do this wilber, but you have maintained a constant negative with regard to my posts here and then you supported the fascist asshole poster to religulous, Bret. This guy misquotes the old testament to support his hateful views, then calls himself a Christian.

I could not manage to write something witty to bounce off his thick skull, because he is dragging down the whole human race. For God's sake, he's breeding!!!

His posts embody the bigotry I hate. S., It is because of people like this that I don't 'participate in my community'. I do, but I am very selective in my charity: the soup kitchens fed the Manson family, I will not make this mistake.

Otherwise I am very pleased that Bill has provoked a response among these dullards; if we can't enlighten them we can laugh at them.

I am not paying their welfare, either.

Does anyone know for sure if 'Real Time' will be coming back after this latest hiatus?

I've noticed that in the past when networks canceled talk shows, before doing so, they supply them with guests that, well, aren't at the top of any lists that anyone actually cares about.

I remember watching the Tom Snyder show about a million years ago, a few days before the network pulled the plug.

His guests were an ancient couple, telling these stupid stories about how they use to work out all of the "stunts" that were used in the "I Love Lucy Show." Like, how to roll Lucy up in a carpet without killing her.

When the guests left, Snyder was kind and thankful for their appearance on his show, but he said something along the line of "WTF?! I LOVE LUCY!?"

BAM! And he was gone like he was never there in the first place.

So, anyway, one of last weeks guests was that bald headed bitch HOWIE 'FUCKING' MANDEL?!

The week of the most important election in history, and Howie "DON'T TOUCH ME" Mandel is on the show?!

OK, ok... I saw that as a fluke, and who knows, maybe Howie can make it on his own *without* a hundred good looking babes to back him up. Yeah, ON FIRE ISLAND, or a one man nude review in West Hollywood, I guess it could happen...

BUT THEN I see on tonight's show the first guest listed is Aston "Mommy" Kusher?

No fucking way! And this is the last show of the so called "season?"

WHAT THE FUCK!

JIMMY KIMMEL'S RETARD COUSIN *SAL* WASN'T AVAILABLE?

Anyway, I hope I'm way off base and the show will be around for many more years...

But now I can't get this image out of my head where HBO and Disney are working on an Anomatronic Don Knots, just so he can be a guest on Real Time...

I've heard you say twice that the US dollar is tanking and losing value - not true. The UK Pound - $2.00+ down to $1.48 now. That's the odd thing - even though the US economy is tanking, the US Dollar is rising against the Euro & Pound. Go figure.

Freudian slip?

"He could be nailing a farm animal for all I care."

If he was screwing a farm animal, that would put him more in Sarah Palin's league, and probably better qualify him for being a guest on the show.

I really hate to accept that "independent thinker" and I are the only ones who have problems with Bill's guests of late.

Sure, Kusher and Mandel would do fine on the late night shows, but I'd like to think that Real Time has different standards that neither of these guys meet, especially during critical shows, such as one shown days after a slightly more than insignificant election, and the final show of the season?

It's almost like the Right Wingers that actually have something interesting to say, are avoiding the show, for fear of appearing unbiased or unloyal to the cause.

I'm not trying to bash Bill or his show, I like it...

But now I'm curious as to whether or not I'm the only one, who isn't here to trash the show, who believes the guest list could be improved on.

I couldn't find a head line to post this blog. So I just installed it here.
"Country first" seems outdated in todays world. We are in it together with all other nations. Our biggest problems are economical ones these days and the worst is yet to come.
Googling JPMorgan and "Bistro" I found this pdf file :http://www.investinginbonds.com/assets/files/Intro_to_Credit_Derivatives.pdf
Credit derivatives are the problem. This means that all bank involved (and that is all of them) are crooks. All banks borrowing money at these rates knew what they are creating. They never had those securities that they were supposed to have to guarantee the trade. A monster. The bubble will cost trillions and the people that caused it seem to be far, far away.
I have not invested heavily in this stock market. But tomorrow I will start shorting the financial markets. All I see on tv is charade. BS. I hope the Times or WallStreet Journal pick this up. Criminals have cause the entire world to crash. I can say how happy I am that Mr. Obama won this election. He likely would be a great leader for any country. But I can't see how he or any one else can fix this. Even if you get the responsible bankers - what could you do? Make them pay for this. Unlikely. Michael Moor should do a doc on this one.

Bill, in your last show you called for the changing of the senate. Why Wyoming has 2 senators, and Cali only has 2, doesn't seem fair.

But it is the most fair system we have.

First, we have the Congress, and then Senate, the Congress is the will of the majority, the Senate is there to protect the minority. The Senate gives the smaller states a voice, where they virtually have no voice in the Congress. And it takes both to pass something, it's very smart, it enforces changes to our country to be supported by the majority, as well as have the minority voice heard in those changes.

As far as the electorate college, I know my example is a little extreme, but it is in place, not because it was hard to get everyone to vote, but to once again protect the minority states in the union.

Without the Electoral college, a candidate could simply say, "Everyone in CA, NY, TX, FL, MA, and PA doesn't have to pay taxes, and all the other states will have to pay double in order to provide services in those states" - If all you need is the majority vote, what is to stop candidates simply creating policy to gain the votes of the population centers. With the Electoral college, it gives the smaller states a voice, and enough of them together is valuable enough that candidates can't ignore them.

Remember, these laws, and rules created back in the day had to be crafted to be designed for the majority, while respecting the minority states.

Without the respect to the smaller states, the United States of America would be very fragmented as many smaller states would have seceded due to never getting any voice in it's governance, and therefore taxation without representation.

They are genius systems put in place that have transcended technology, and political policies, and anything else... the System is STILL 100% needed, and applicable no matter the internet, or planes, or whatever changes about how we as Americans live, and think.

Remember, 8 years ago, we were in the minority, the senate, and the electoral college gives the minority states, and areas a voice in order to elicit change in order to become the majority, and then back again... it's how the balance of power works in our country.

Good, thought provoking post!

However you lost me at your explanation/example of the Electoral College.

If either the Republican'ts or Democrats were to give huge tax breaks to the larger states, what difference would it make under the Electoral College, or a system where the majority of votes win?

Either way, you're giving up on a larger state's votes in hopes of gaining votes from other smaller states.

Also, with the Electoral College, using a twist on your example, couldn't the Republican'ts decide to tax the bejesus out of California and other large 'Blue' states, with the Dems, doing the same with Texas?

Hmmm, seems that's exactly what the Repustules did when they allowed the energy crisis to take place in California, while the FERC sat by with it's thumb up it's ass?

True, the Electoral College was a good idea, but I think it's method whose time has passed.

I'd much rather see a system where the majority of votes wins.

That way, if one state such as Florida decides to add a bit of voter fraud into the mix, the number of 'dirty' votes would be a smaller percentage of the overall countrywide count, than if it were a much larger percentage of the count from the state alone. Making the fraud more likely to change the outcome.

In other words, if it was dirty tricks in Florida that threw the White House to Bush, those dirty tricks wouldn't have done the job, in a majority win's system.

I know what you mean. I consider any media about anyone as a complete spin, sometimes with a grain of truth.

TV - especially the news - is entertainment only.

Here are a few examples.
1. The rape of the Congo was world knowledge in 2003. American TV news didn't pick it up until about 2 years ago. Fuck CNN & BBC America, read Orwell! I had an African priest bring this question to me: "How could they (Americans) not know?". It was news to me. Answer is: deception. I would also accept censorship and social engineering as partially correct. So for every penny I have invested to recover Africa, Jr through the CIA & "missionaries" have appropriated 10,000 to keep the chaos of 60's colonialism in place. At the cost of 2 billion lives, 1980-90. You can fry Sr. for this + the same war crimes, Jr is using his daddy's playbook.

2. Ron Paul was a vaible candidate for the presidency, yet the media aggressively obstructed his campaign as much as they foisted McCain upon us, and goaded the Clinton/Obama democratic division. What the fuck is up with this, you so called 4rth estate goat fucking sellouts? Don't point fingers, I am referring to all 'news commentators' everywhere.

3. The difference between Realtime with Bill Maher & A Quicky with Keith Olberman is that one is an hour long and the other is regarded as a news show.

4. The difference between the Daily Comedic Hour with Jew Stewart and Catholic Colbert and the Huckabee Flagellation is that one is a parody and the other is antisemitic. What they have in common is that they tell you what to think; one makes you laugh, the other, despair. Pretty sick, huh?

5. On 9/11, Jr was slow to leave the 1st grade classroom where he was annoying the kids with his illiteracy because he was "establishing his alibi", as instructed.

6. Watch videos Michael Moore created, then watch the videos - aka news shows - that the spin doctors made to discredit him. Michael Moore has bigger balls than they tell us Sorry Palin does.

7. Watch Palin capitalize to her own benefit at the expense of the American public. In my world, one thing is constant: you can always buy a republican for cash or blackmail. She is McCain's legacy upon the world. This bitch licked up all his good deeds and left only a steaming pile.

I'm not even trying, I can rant on for days. The point is the spin about Rahm and the pre-existing context, in various cultures.

What I like about Rahm is that he is a hammer who knows the Israeli way inside out. The Jews can't put a ring through his nose like they did Joe Looterman - and Looterman is out (you can always buy a Republican). Rahm is accountable to the President of the United States and if he subverts this authority to enable Israeli Jews to continue to be sadistic to Palestinians, the flaming sword up his ass and out his eyes will be nothing compared to the contrails of US ghost bombers dispersing the 453 grams of weapons grade plutonium++ Israel 'stole' from us in 1967. The issue in Palestine is not an American one, it is an Israeli fault. They have to play nice; I like the idea of Rahm assisting them to understand Obama's ultimatums.

There are grapevines and back channels throughout the world. When the Palestinians are equal in Israel and Palestinian territories recognized, I believe that the attitude and focus will shift throughout the region. The election of Obama reflects a political maturation of Americans; Israel has to do the same thing. Every tyrant can no longer call themselves 'President' - like Castro, Hussein, Jong Il or Jr - now they have to act like one.

Adolf Hitler pardoning himself did not save him. Jr is going down.

I was wondering if you were ok btw, I remember you said you lived in california and I saw there were huge fires in the South.

About Jon Stewart, I don't feel he tells you what to think. He makes fun, which makes you wonder and ask questions. That's not bad. I believe he will also be critical of Obama when he takes office. Basically, to me, he reminds people where gaps are that the big media doesn't care to report about.
But I agree on CNN and BBC. I remember how they reported on the 2006 july war between Hezbollah and Israel. It made me go crazy. I was already in Paris at the time and my family was in Beirut. And I'd go nuts knowing they're in danger, when CNN reported it like it was only in Hezbollah areas. It wasn't (plus even in Hezbollah areas, too many civilians died) What I hate the most about it, is that I actually had to switch to Al Jazeera which I deeply hate to really know what areas were being hit.

Now, about Emanuel. I simply like the guy. I guess it's refreshing to see someone tough, loud and apparentely with a strong sense of social justice, with power. But I'm watching closely, because I still don't know how they'll play the ME cards.

About israel and the US.
It's the question of the egg and the chicken. Who controls that relationship and who defines Israel's policy towards the palestinians ? I can't answer that question today. But it took me some time to understand this : opposingly to a common belief in the arab world, Israel's policy has nothing to do with american jews, or little anyways. As I saw on the polls, 80% of american jews voted for Obama. The people who are pushing for this 'don't talk to our enemies, destroy everything on your passage' is simply once again the evangelicals.
So who feeds on who ? I don't know, but I believe that if people are going to criticize Obama for uture positions onthe issue (although I doubt he'll have any controversial), it will not be jewish people, it will be always and again the evangelicals.

About the palestinians (and I'll stop, this is too long :))
They're to blame too, you know.
In 67, we welcomed them in Lebanon. actually the camps they were welcomed in were the property of the Lebanese Church. A few years later, they were having roadblocks, and if you were christian, they'd slit your throat. That, and whole christian villages being slaughtered and burnt by them and the druze, their allies at the time.
Their 'cause' was also used by mostly muslims and a few left wing christians to end the 'christian lead' (at the time, it is true that the christians (maronites) didn't share much power). So anyways, the palestinian history in every country they were welcomed in (Tunisia, Jordan) is very black. Especially in Leb, where it came down to finishing off the christians..

Long story, but the deal is I believe their strategy has always been completely fucked up. When you compete with somebody and they win, you don't blame them for being too tough, you (at least) blame yourself a little for not playing right. They always blame the israelis but what have they done to improve their people's conditions, change the strategy, use the media ?
Why do they need to show an islamic face to the rest of the world, if they're really not ? They should know by now that the best way to attract positive coverage and vision from the rest of the world is showing that this is a matter of a territory and of a people. Instead of that, they use Islam (Arafat was never an islamist and yet acted a lot worse), they hurt their people, and in parallel, they actually feed true islamism. So basically, I have much to blame on Israel (much!) , but I can't let the palestinians off the hook. There were better strategies to play by and after 60 years of wars, they won't change the game.

Girl on Girl Blurb

No matter how hip and erudite, women performing a man’s game risk coming off as dry and hard. Drowning babies and rogue squirrels decry the need for soul lubricant. Even Sarah alludes to the nurturing qualities of motherhood, and does it well. The uber liberal woman struts her femininity on a dazzling edge, yet is her conservative counterpart more in tune with her own essence?

Carlos Castaneda wrote that childbirth tears a woman’s luminous egg, the numinous aura surrounding each of us. He insinuated that spiritual study of the Nagual might be better approached sans progeny. There may be something to this, but only if feminine qualities are expanded to encompass cherishing and nurturing universally, a concept which may ring off tone with individualistic, possessive male prototypes. It’s up to us to walk that fine line; in heels, or on the wings of angelicious love.

The fires aren't in my neighborhood. What I have seen, cities spring up where there is a fire. I think some of these fires are set on purpose by people who benefit from them; real estate developers & a few rogue firemen. That may sound loopy but we have a history of fire marshals and inspectors being convicted of arson.

The secret to fire prevention is goats. Goats will eat anything and in my area the cities hire goat herders. The goats are moved around to areas where the underbrush is potent fuel. When the goats are done foraging the area looks like it was manicured with scissors. Goats work day and night, they don't complain and they clean up behind themselves.
They are also good for milk, cheese and to make McDonteathis McNuggets...

While goats aren't suitable for all areas they would rock in the Angeles Crest forest - its really steep and goats can hack this better than people. Alot of the 1st burn was in this area. They would also do good in the Anaheim Hills area, but that is a fairly new development - sprung up in a fire zone after a fire - and the city officials have yet to understand that fire is indigenous to the region. They had a severe burn in spring 2005; they are slow learners. Must be know nothings who know it all.

I should read what I posted - I meant to say 1 billion people died in Africa between 1980-2000 - great compassion, folks - and the rape and genocide of Darfur.

What do you think about the legislation voting themselves full pay for life, out of SS and 840B pork?

What do you think of W declaring marshal law, reversing the FOIA and granting the CIA, an organization whose charter permits kidnapping, torture and assassination, crimes which precluded their operation in the USA, to operate in the USA?

W has kidnapped, tortured and murdered innocent American civilians. So did his father when he was deputy director of the CIA. In fact Daddy W also conducted terminal experiments on civilians without their permission, then destroyed the evidence, which was just as illegal then as it is now.

We can have a constitutional convention but its not simple. in 1991 it was proposed to have one to extend the 1st Amendment to include digital media - the web - but the best legal minds agreed that this is too perilous. To have a CC all proposals must be considered, not just the one you want it for. So a CC exposes us to a clusterfuck that would destroy the USA as it exists.

I dunno Bob Cesca but from his web content he looks outraged by the bs.

I don't think McCain was supposed to win, I think the bad situation was passed to the dems so that the reps wouldn't have to take the blame.

Here is something to consider.

Richard "I am not a crook" Nixon was impeached & resigned because he was caught spying on his competition. PKD suggests that Nixon's spying resulted in the eliminatioon of MLK, RFK, Wallace & the other candidate, the one they smeared for ibogaine addiction.

Governor Ronald Reagan declared war on an entire generation of Americans - the kids. Some fucking hero.

So as President Reagan played the nice guy while George Sr. fielded the heat for illegal operations, such as dealing arms to terrorists & smuggling cocaine. All convictions overturned, but Ollie the fall guy did a short stretch in a coutry club somewehere; probably nicer than G. Liddy's sentence.

If I am right this scheme out of daddy's playbook, Jr is acting the naive twit while Cheney takes the rap as the crook.

Noone ever said republicans are creative. Just coniving, greedy, scheming perverts. This is not about winning and losing, this is about the values and character of a society as demonstrated by its actions.

So Palin could not have been the crook for McCain. The best analogue is daddy's actual presidency, when Dan Quayle was the do nothing vice president. Palin could not even have done this; she blabs too much & loves the camera.

I like that quote though. Do you think that there was a reason behind his assassination rather than the psychopath version ?

Anonymous said...

Yes I do. I noticed that no one who stood against Darth Nixon outlived him. They all died of unnatural causes. "killed by hit and run driver who was never caught" came up a few times in the 80s.

The 'suicide' of Abbie Hoffman never sat well with me. Allegedly he overdosed himself on barbituates & alcohol and left no note. This is a man who lived on the run from the body snatchers for a decade. At the time of his death he had resolved all these legal issues, published his biography, played himself in the movie "Born on the 4rth of July" - 6 months earlier - and signed a movie deal for his life story.

Nixon was a man to hold a grudge. I have seen that every president has no problem finding henchmen willing to kill for them, no questions asked.

A modest proposal to bail out the American auto manufacturers

Gather up all the USA military contracts for transports, weapons and ammunition that are currently being fulfilled by foreign companies or their bogus 'American' subsidiaries. Determine which ones can be performed by the auto industry - especially including all the small manufacturers who do the short production runs for Detroit - and delegate them to to the auto manufacturers.

I notice that Chrysler is not scamming for tax loot. I am pretty sure they manufacture tanks for the US military; they have legitimate government contracts.

Same idea.

All M16 assault rifles are manufactured in Belgium; bring those tax dollars home!

Any politicians whose allegiance to alien PACs obstructs this should be exposed as the traitors they are.

The Beatles wrote & performed the soundtrack for my generation.

In '64 my friend was in Manchester on business for a few days. In the hotel bar he met Brian Epstien, the promoter who got the Beatles their start.

Brian went from town to town. He would identify the popular clubs then set up free shows at the high school auditorium or gym. Then he would come back in a week or 2 and book sellout shows at the clubs... hard work pays + given the opportunity, the Beatles sold themselves!

Thats how it started. Brian hit my friend up for venture capital & my friend still regrets not investing in them. In his defense, who gives 20 grand to a stranger in a bar? ;

I haven't counted but I have long thought that the word 'love' occurs in Beatles songs at least 3x more than in the Bible.

The Detroit Bailout…

If Washington DC wants to bail out Detroit, then how about doing it while bailing out the American consumer in the process? Rather then sending billions of dollars to the corporate executives of the big auto makers so that they can stock up their bars and buy up more cocaine to snort up their noses as reward for being such incompetent businessmen, why not simply subsidize the purchase of their thousand and thousand of cars sitting on car lots all around the country?

By doing this the Detroit automakers would benefit because their products would get sold and money would once again begin flowing into the companies, and the thousands of struggling auto sales lots and salesmen around the country would benefit from the turnover of their inventory again.

The American consumer would benefit because he or she could now purchase a new car at an incredible bargain price and countless American manufacturers dependent on the automobile industry would benefit because of the need for parts and services for all the new automobiles hitting the streets.

The American employee would benefit because of his or her ability to get to work in reliable transportation and the American employer would benefit from having employees with reliable transportation who can get to work on time.

And as well, the American banking industry would benefit because of the high number of low risk loans it would be giving out to consumers for car loans.

This subsidy could be in the form of matching dollars for any monies put down towards the purchase of a Detroit automobile, ie if a car costs $20k and the customer has $5k to put down towards the car, then the government would match the $5k down with another $5k thus leaving $10k to be financed by the buyer. Detroit sells an automobile, the consumer gets a good deal, and the bank writes up a $10 loan for the customer thus making his monthly payments very affordable thus decreasing the chance that the customer will default on the loan.

And the amount that the government has put up for the subsidy of the purchase would have to be paid back by Detroit, but the automakers would have years to do so. This would be better then just giving the money to Detroit.

Overall, it would be an incredible boost for the American economy.

And in order for the automakers to qualify for this bailout, they would have to agree to trim a certain percentage, say 25%, of their upper and middle management staff as well as place a hold on any bonuses or salary increases for middle and upper management until such time that the company can support itself.

This type of bailout plan would make so much more sense then just sending billions of dollars to the incompetent business leaders of these companies who would simply take most of the money and divvy it up amongst their elite group in the form of bonuses and vacation packages and cocaine to snort before they ever got around to doing anything for their company.

This is the answer.

Major Tom has an absolutely brilliant idea. Unfortunately, like OnaJudge says, the best thinkers aren't in Washington D.C., so therefore these "representatives" will never come up with such a common sense approach that could benefit all. The only thing that has to be added is that we would still need to mass produce "fuel efficient" cars for teh future because the current gas prices will not last. They will go up again and we need to prepare for that inevitability and Detroit going back to producing huge gas guzzlers will not solve their problems and our nations dependency on foreign oil and the whims of the OPEC leaders!

Now that we have diplomatic immunity to disagree, I don’t think the Clintons are essentially model bureaucrats as they are ambition incarnate. I’m also perplexed by Obama’s choice for secretary of state.

As a rule I always discount the official reason for the Dow’s behavior - yes I confess, it’s my religion too, we’re all in bondage over this one. Yesterday’s 680 point wipeout was explained away by news that we are officially in recession since last December… the laziest excuse ever contrived. Last week’s robust gains fools millions of economically strung out Americans to celebrate consumerism delirium of days gone by, and Monday the whip comes down again. That dread dip is more likely linked to Hillary’s nomination. This whammy just doesn’t inspire investor confidence. Note that today we are back on the recovery swing.

Clinton is fiercely nationalistic and Obama forces her to forgo health care for all Americans and banishes her to the Middle East. I think he is indulging in a little supremacy elitism over his conquered lass. Not to insinuate that she won’t be the most successful secretary of state who ever roamed the earth, but the very talented Susan Rice would have been an excellent choice. It pains me to agree with Christopher Hitchens on this.

Rubbing Hillary’s nose in meetings without preconditions points to tough love on Obama’s part. Overall I admire his swag in taking her by the reins, with what is likely a pure motive to earn her loyalty and admiration.

Here is the answer Bill. Can you tell me why this solution would not be good for both Detroit AND the American economy including the banking industry??

If Washington DC wants to bail out Detroit, then how about doing it while bailing out the American consumer in the process? Rather then sending billions of dollars to the corporate executives of the big auto makers so that they can stock up their bars and buy up more cocaine to snort up their noses as reward for being such incompetent businessmen, why not simply subsidize the purchase of their thousand and thousand of cars sitting on car lots all around the country?

By subsidizing the purchase of a Detroit automobile in the form of a 1 to 1 (or perhaps 2 to 1) match of monies put down towards the purchase of a new car will affect the following industries in a positive way:

1) Subsidizing car purchases will benefit the Big 3 Bozo Automakers because sales of their product will have money flowing into the company. Aren't they in the business to sell cars? Or no?

2) Struggling car dealerships around the country will benefit by having their inventory turn over.

3) Consumers will benefit by getting a new car at a bargain price.

4) The Big 3 Bozo Automakers will benefit again by hopefully winning over countless new consumers who were previously leaning towards imports. Maybe.

5) Banks will benefit because of the number of affordable loans they will be processing. By consumers having to only finance small amounts for these cars, monthly payments would be in the $100 to $200/month range rather then $400 to $500 per month car payments that are choking the average consumer. Isn't this what banks are in the business for-- giving out loans to make their money? Or no?

6) As well, the economy stands to benefit. A subsidy matching monies put down towards the purchase of a new car will entice consumers to come up with as much cash of their own for matching, thus injecting millions of dollars back into circulation in the economy. This is good for business owners and consumers alike.

7) The insurance industry will benefit from all the new cars out on the road.

8) And last but not least, hundreds of thousands of businesses and workers that depend on the American Auto Industry will benefit from this because there will be a need for parts and services related to the sales of cars.

This is the answer.

mike m said...

major-tom

That sounds reasonable. One of the biggest problems is people just aren't buying new cars. All auto makers are seeing huge drops in sales. I think Honda just reported a 30% drop in sales. Toyota isn't far behind. There are lots full of German cars sitting in US shipyards. What the Big 3 are going through may happen to Honda and Toyota which have plants in the US. So, your idea might not be fair to the people working in those plants.

Also, the banks and lending institutions don't have a whole hell of a lot money to lend in the first place. So far, only the big banks have received bailout money, and the smaller banks, the ones that make auto loans, are still waiting for their "cut". That probably won't happen until after the inauguration. And actually, the big banks aren't using the bailout money to make loans. Rather, just to balance their books. There was no stipulation imposed by Paulson.

An idea I heard floated was something like this. Part of the bailout money should be given out with a stipulation that it be lent to the auto makers with a government backed guarantee. Sort of like a GSL loan. But I doubt the government would go for that, because I think they want to get their hands into the auto makers and tell them what type of cars they should be building.

Another problem is, a lot of people are stuck in 72 and 84 month loans. Maybe the government could offer to buy people out of those long term loans with the stipulation that they trade in their gas guzzling SUV for a more fuel efficient Big 3 produced vehicle.

It's funny. I've been watching the Congressional hearings on C-SPAN. Just about everyone I've heard testify who isn't connected to the Big 3 have said that the '79 Chrysler bailout was a huge success but, you don't hear that on the evening news. Why is that?

mike m said...

Oh, one more question. The CEO of Chrysler. He's the CEO that ran Home Depot into the ground and almost bankrupted them. How the hell did he get the job at Chrysler with that record? Bring back Lee A. Iaccoca :-).

major-tom said...

mikem,

I understand that banks are hesitant to loan, however if they don't they will not survive.

The less the amount a consumer has to borrow allows for a smaller, more manageable monthly payment. Consumers get low monthly payments and the banks make money.

By subsidizing Detroit cars essentially Detroit is borrowing against its future in hopes that it can straighten itself out and once again begin to turn a profit.

IF a bailout must be given to Detroit which it is obvious WILL take place, then it only makes sense to do it by helping them to do their business rather then just handing them money but their product STILL does not move.

By making it substantially easier to purchase one of their cars, then not only will domestic money begin to flow, but foreigners will jump at the bargain prices. Foreign money will flow in for the American made product at the bargain price.

No, this is not fair to the Japanese or Koreans or European car manufacturers. It is not fair trade.

I don't believe in unfair trade, however at the moment this might have to be a temporary, short term solution for keeping the American Auto Industry alive.

And this is not completely unfair as other nations governments have assisted their businesses in different ways in order to keep their national interests alive.

And I do not believe that the Japanese or Koreans or Europeans want to see the American economy collapse. They do lots of business with us.

Again, this is preferable to just handing the money over to a business that is having trouble selling their product.

A govt subsidy would help them to move their product and hopefully win over new customers FOREIGN & DOMESTIC, WHILE at the same time restructuring their businesses to once again produce a demand for their product & to turn a profit.

This will take concessions by mgmt and UAW alike. SERIOUS concessions. But mainly these businesses are top heavy and need to be trimmed starting at the top.

They do not have to produce the best product in the world. Not everyone can be the best, as I believe the Japanese to be. However, to compete with these superior automobiles you make your automobile dependable and CHEAPER AND AFFORDABLE.

GREED has gotten the best of Detroit. GREED.

Take the GREED out of the factor and Detroit can survive and prosper, and perhaps even one day be superior.

It has been written.

Hi S,

I was busy for a while but I took time to post this to my scum sucking political repressors, at least every one who has chain of denialable culpability over me; includes everyone I could tag:

As my representative,

I want you to give the auto industry executives the 1 finger salute, in session and tell them that I said that in exchange for 40 years of eroding the US industrial base without any kind of consideration for the skilled workers they laid off, they can kiss my ass.

Tell them that the United States Federal Reserve is not a bank and that they should beg alms from banks, or from the nations they exported our jobs to.

I have posted this request to all my reps. Having always thought you politicos all vile criminals, this is the 1st time I have ever asked anything of you. During the Obama campaign I found my posts being repeated verbatim as the views of many news commentators, so I am going to give you a chance: dare to represent me. You took my money: now do your job.

Represent me by telling the con men to kiss my ass and file chapter 11. Then find out where Condi hid the 15 billion in cash, then convict George & co. for kidnapping innocent civilians and RICO violations for Guantanamo.

Kick ass, take names.

Merry Christmas.

Today is the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack.

With Bill out, "In California we know how to party" + "I smoked (federally illegal - fuck you, feds) Chong bongs with Tommy" - Gubernator Arnie, I love this guy, I guess Kieth Olberman is the best critic we have. He's deep, funny and his stand ins lacked his humor.

Winona is a hottie!

Looking forward to Bill's rip in 09; maybe we can do more than talk.

I noticed that President-elect Barack Obama is significantly ahead of his many predecessors in terms of the time frame used for filling his cabinet positions. And he’s got several of his very esteemed and learned classmates from Harvard advising him! Holy shit! Does this mean someone we elected is actually taking this job seriously? I only hope he’s equally serious about beginning his first term as the “New Accountability President” by holding George W. Numbnuts & Co. as equally accountable for all of their greed and fuck-ups as the GOP did with Bill Clinton and his blowjobs!

And from the “Say What? Department”, First Lady Dipshit Laura Bush was actually talking to the press about their newly acquired home in Dallas the other day too, amid all the foreclosures in our nation recently! Classy! I hear Ft. Leavenworth is pretty this time of year, as well! Why doesn’t she just go ahead and proudly yell, “Bah, humbug!” while she’s at it? I’m not even going to mention her giving Christmas cards complete with the White House Christmas tree on them to the Jewish Leaders around the country as invitations to this year’s White House Hanukkah reception! That’s pure dipshittedness at its finest! Perhaps after they seize all of BushCo’s assets at home and abroad, we’ll have enough funds at the ready for all the homeless citizens our P.O.T.U.S. and his band of thieves and idiots have been ignoring during their entire lives!

I’m thinking that the members of the current administration are merely going to slink away into obscurity, you know, the way Mark McGwire and Rafael Palmeiro have with all of their ill-gotten millions of dollars from MLB. Maybe all we’ll get to enjoy is another steaming pile of pleading the Fifth in front of Congress, if even that.

Wouldn’t BushCo. be a great place to start with real accountability? How’s that for some real change we can all believe in?

I can dream, can’t I?

In the meantime, let’s all make a concerted effort to lose our dependency on oil of any kind, foreign and domestic, so that the “See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil” Towel-Headed Camel Jockeys from Saudi Arabia can take their massive remaining supplies and simply be left to compare dick sizes with their other third world contemporaries in Iran and Venezuela (If you’ve actually been to those countries, you’d know what I mean.)! You know, the way we have with the Russians and our nuclear weapon stockpiles!

If this post doesn’t get you laughing at the absurdity Bill, nothing will!

Happy Holidays!

I will oversee the production of all trucks in Detroit. I'll rule my domain and kick some a** and take names. I'll get that place turned around I will!

I'll open up the books and check them over twice, I'm gonna find out who's been naughty or nice.

I'll work beside the mechanics and chat with the engineers, I'll learn more in ONE day then the current bosses have learned in twenty years.

I'll roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty, unlike the current execs who think they're just too purdy.

Oh please oh please I promise I won't be a LAME DUCK SCHMUCK, I'll straighten Detroit out if you just make me...

The writing was on the wall years ago. It all started with Cracker Jacks, & peanuts…

You know Cracker Jacks. It’s the delicious caramel coated popcorn & peanuts snack that comes in the box with the picture of sailor Jack & his dog bingo on front. I’ll bet you’ve all tried some Cracker Jacks before. Good stuff, eh!? Well, believe it or not, Cracker Jacks is a prime example of how America is going to the dogs. Allow me to explain.

On the outside of every box of Cracker Jacks is the statement ‘SURPRISE INSIDE, GUESS WHAT’S INSIDE?, has been for years. It used to be exciting to see what the surprise was inside, but times have changed. There’s no excitement anymore. All of the mystery is gone because the surprise is now always the same surprise.

The surprise inside each and every box of Cracker Jack is there are only three peanuts inside now! That’s all! Just THREE peanuts per box! No lie. That’s the surprise-- everytime.

There was a time in America when a box of Cracker Jacks had a real surprise inside. There were cool surprises like little puzzles, or joke books, or little plastic action-figures, or a fun little game where you tried to roll three little balls to seat into three recessed holes. That was always my favorite. But not anymore. Now you get three peanuts.

Oh sure, there is still a semblance of a real surprise inside each box. There are now things like a piece of paper with a cut-out snow flake on it, or a piece of paper with a picture you can color, or a piece of paper with some lucky lottery numbers on it, or in some boxes, a piece of paper inside a piece of paper. But nothing as nice as the surprises of old—and only three peanuts.

There used to be lots of tasty peanuts inside each box of Cracker Jacks. But to cut production costs & make more money, some CEO at Cracker Jacks Central decided to axe the peanuts and then cleverly label the package a ‘fat free’ product while raising the price. Consequently already wealthy CEO’s & stockholders of Cracker Jacks, Inc., get more for less while the consumer gets less for more.

That’s what’s wrong with America.

And it’s not just Cracker Jack, Inc. All over America product quality is being compromised in the pursuit of higher profit margins & greed.

Take the auto industry. Each new car sold in America comes with a spare tire. There was a time when the spare tire was a full sized tire that matched the set sold on the car. Not any more. Now a spare tire is a half-sized midget tire that makes your car ride leaning over like it’s injured, and won’t let you go over 55 miles-per-hour (although countless idiots do). And it costs more! Less for more.

That’s what’s wrong with America.

Now when you see ‘NEW AND IMPROVED’ on a label in America you can believe that some ingredient has been left out in order to save on product cost. Why the label just say ‘IT ISN’T AS GOOD OF A PRODUCT AS IT USED TO BE, BUT IT COSTS MORE AND OUR ALREADY WEALTHY CEO’s & STOCKHOLDERS WILL GET RICHER QUICKER.’? – while raising the price.

Another trick of the trade is to change the packaging so as to make it appear that the consumer is getting more for their money when they are actually getting less. Clever packaging is what it is. Sort of like the way these CEO’s package themselves. Less for more.

That’s what’s wrong with America.

America has gotten turned upside down. Elite American Corporate Executive OFFICERS & Cracker Jack CEO’s are taking more then their fair share while the rest of America is left to fight over—- peanuts.

It’s time for a change.

major-tom calling Earth, come in Earth,

This transmission is directed to the clowns running Earth America.

I have transmitted this solution to your economic problem over & over but as of yet no acknowledgement.

Rather then simply handing over billions of dollars to the corporate executives of the big auto, why not simply subsidize the purchase of Detroit’s thousand and thousand of new cars sitting on car lots all around the country?

By doing this the Detroit automakers would benefit because their products would get sold and money would once again begin flowing into the companies, and the thousands of struggling auto sales lots and salesmen around the country would benefit from the turnover of their inventory again.

These subsidy funds could come from the $700 Billion already allocated for the banks on a ‘as needed’ or ‘per sale’ basis. Any subsidy money withdrawn from this $700 Billion ‘slush fund’ would have to be paid back by Detroit Automakers. Essentially, Detroit would be borrowing against its future. But the nice thing is that any money borrowed would also signify a sale of one of their cars, thus, if these Detroit cars sell then Detroit survives, but if these cars do not sell then the loaned amount will be small and the downfall of the Detroit auto industry will occur-- and rightfully so if their automobiles cannot even sell at rock-bottom prices.

If they are able to turn things around, then this is all good. But if not, then they fold. This would be better then just giving the money to them without their product selling.

Another plus for this plan is the American consumer would benefit because he or she could purchase a new car at an incredible bargain price and countless American manufacturers dependent on the automobile industry would benefit because of the need for parts and services for all the new automobiles hitting the streets.

And as well, the American banking industry would benefit because of the high number of low risk, affordable loans it would be giving out to consumers for these cars. Also the insurance industry stands to increase its business as well as hundreds of thousands of businesses and workers that depend on the American Auto Industry

Overall, it would be an incredible boost for the American economy.

And in order for the automakers to qualify for this bailout, they should have to agree to trim a certain percentage, say 25%, of their upper management staff as well as place a hold on any bonuses or salary increases for ALL employees until such time that the company can support itself.

Of course there are many modifications that can be made to a subsidy plan to encourage the production and sale of 'greener' vehicles.

The bottom line is that a subsidy plan would begin moving Detroit's cars thus bringing in revenue to the companies and thereby allowing them to stay afloat while they restructure.

BUT, even more important then Detroit, a subsidy plan such as this would certainly inject life back into a stagnant economy. Imagine a parent being able to purchase a new $20,000.00 vehicle for only $10,000.00? I'm willing to bet there would be lots of these vehicles moving before Christmas if this were possible.

And keep in mind that this subsidy would be essentially provided by the Detroit Automakers themselves, although the tax payers are fronting them the money, just as a bailout/handout would do already.

I don't know if I am translating this correctly to your wavelength, but again, this subsidy would be provide by the government/taxpayers to be paid off by the Detroit Automakers/greedy fools.

So, a subsidy plan IS a bailout/aid package, but it also stimulates the American economy/The World AND helps the consumer/Earthling.

Yes, modifications/changes can be made to a subsidy plan, ie in some cases of the neediest/low-income/unemployed, a 2 to 1 match on dollars put down towards the purchase of a new Detroit automobile.

Of course, a 2 to 1 matching plan for the neediest of our society might be perceived as an unfair welfare handout by elitists/Bill O'Reilly of today's society.

All I can say to that is if you have a problem with the poor or unemployed getting additional help towards the purchase of one of these new vehicles then simply set up a meet for them to sit in front of Congress and hold out their hands while begging for food. It seems to be the rave.

It has been written.

In other news, GM is closing their Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for an additional five weeks in January and February, this after a 12-month $6M retooling and reopening in October. Is this what Senator Corker had in mind? No matter, all the unemployed can simply go work for him at his construction company with all of his illegal aliens for unlivable wages and no healthcare. Feliz Navidad, Bob!

And in Boston, the Red Sox are bringing back 1931 with their "New" old uniforms! What an outstanding idea! Let's relive those great days of yesteryear in 1931, when there was The Great Depression, Prohibition, Child Labor, Racial Inequality, and the Red Sox in sixth place!

The plan to address the nation’s infrastructure by hiring a workforce of Americans is a great idea by the President-elect Barack Obama.

Many of these Government jobs to renovate our American infrastructure will go to unemployed and impoverished youth. I think this would be great!

And of course there will be jobs available for white American youth too! But in order for children of the WASAMI to qualify for these jobs, they will first have to be forced out of their beds and their Playstations & Nintendos pried from their hands. This will be no easy task.

Then, in many cases, there will be additional training necessary for these white youths because as the privileged youth of the modern day WASAMI has honed his or her brain into the sharpest of tools, his or her ability to use any part of the rest of his or her body to actually apply any of his or her intellectual theories has become ever-increasingly difficult. The white intellectual youth of today has become so emulsified with bookish technical knowledge of microscopic elementations and formulations and postulations that it seems he or she has no capacity remaining to understand and implement any simple, menial task that may require practical application, common sense, physical exertion, or just plain good old-fashioned sweat.

For instance, the modern day white intellectual scientist or technician can tell you, to the 1000th decimal place, the number of calories or ingredient matrix of each and every morsel or crumb on a plate of food, yet ask him or her to prepare that plate of food and he or she will stare at you dumbfounded.

Another example is the white intellectual engineer of today who can design a revolutionary polymer that will double the life of each and every automobile tire in America, yet ask him to change that tire and he or she will be lost.

As the white intellectual in America continues to distance himself or herself from any task requiring some measure of physical exertion, he or she becomes increasingly more physically imbalanced. His or her stress levels rise and overall health declines as he or she becomes an addict to the sedentary pursuit of mental masturbation. The pathetic health of today’s average American and increased need for pills and therapy and medication for today’s American youth is testimony to this.

Why, the average WASAMI American youth has becoming so physically inept that there is now, as we speak, legislation being drawn up in Congress that will soon require a Surgeon General warning label on each and every pack of chewing gum sold in America stating- WARNING: WALKING AND CHEWING GUM AT THE SAME TIME CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH. PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN FIRST TO BE SURE YOU ARE HEALTHY ENOUGH TO CHEW GUM.

So yes, there WILL be opportunity for American whites too for these jobs! And imagine the joy & satisfaction these WASAMI youth will feel after having put in a full day of work where they actually ACCOMPLISHED something with their hands! Imagine the Comradery he or she will feel working side by side with others of different races. Imagine the positive work ethics & habits these white youth of the WASAMI will pick up working side by side with the hard working black & Latino youth! Imagine these white youth passing on these good work habits to their parents! Imagine what a difference this could make in America. It’s easy if you try.

Yes, this is an excellent idea by the Earth American President Elect Barack Obama! And if this plan is what it takes to turn America around then yes it will be alright for you to declare Barack Obama one of the best Presidents ever! No need to be bashful about it cause, as they say...

...if the shoe fits, wear it.

The beehive Buddha is an adorable creation of nature, some are even calling it a miracle, but this doesn’t compare to the unbelievable luck Obama and the democrats are having with the timing of the Blago Scandal. Entertaining us in true Republican style, Morning Joe was seething that no journalist dug this up before the election. Well it’s all over now; Obama can wait a week to reassure the pack. It’s doubtful this court imposed postponement will induce the media to simmer down and turn to more relevant issues, more likely it’ll keep blowing this scandal all out of proportion and exhaust itself crying in its crib until Santa comes. Obama’s decree for another week of righteous indignation and legal speculation must have tingles going up lots of Joseph A. Bank clad legs at MSNBC.

It’s interesting to note that some are questioning whether reprehensible corruption could be downgraded to political horse trading. One might surmise that life is an endless tussle of give and take. Take for instance St. Maarten, our semi-autonomous Dutch colonial outpost. For years, vouchers for fridges, stoves and TV’s were handed out in the lobby of the government building in exchange for votes. Nowadays our politicians are restraining themselves to sending free tickets to all voters residing abroad, (who needs a mail-in system?) and favors are exchanged on the lovely front lawn of the government building. The island is none the worse for all this direct bargaining; only the media is neglected… Life goes on; we’re even weathering the recession better than most places.

A post Republican United States has a primal need for bloodletting, beware to those, who like Blago, are caught in the crossfire. Of course whatever satisfaction we derive pales in comparison to what the outgoing administration owes its constituents. The country is worn down by Bush fatigue, as so aptly put by Joan Walsh, the editor of Salon. The mood of the moment is for all things Democratic, spearheaded by a reincarnation of Camelot in a promising feminine version. As the glamorous new faces of Catholic faith and all good things American, Caroline and Kerry have the poise and pedigree to assuage the festering wounds and redeem paradise lost. I already heard Kerry echo the will of so many women to bring you to your knees and open your heart to God, you lucky Devil!

In the long run, the most important attribute of our recovery is transparency in politics, business, religion, love… all over. This IP address attempts to beam clarity and curves, and expound on the theory that everything is much simpler than it seems… while I suck a stairway to heaven.

major tom,

Are you crazy? You can't just hand out money to the American people. Oh wait, we already did that; twice. The problem is GM needs the money yesterday. At least, the first $15 billion of the 45 they want. I guess nobody told the southern republican senators that the 15 was just a "down payment" on the 45, to carry them through the next 3 months. During that period, the restructuring and renegotiating is supposed to take place. Asshole, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), decided to do all the negotiating himself, in one day. Praise be to Jesus, the Southerners finally learned how to negotiate with labor unions! ASSHOLE, ASSHOLE, ASSHOLE!!!!!!
That's right Bobby Boy, YOU'RE AN A-S-S-H-O-L-E, ASSHOLE!

I must say, I share your sentiment, in general, about the corporate world, but I have a soft spot for GM. Unfortunately, I think some Americans are transferring their contempt for Exxon/Mobile and Haliburton to the car companies.

Lightly sidestepping controversy, Obama adroitly changes the discourse as he serves up Rick Warren for the Inauguration. Pastor Warren responds to the invitation for an open discourse by presenting his reasoning against gay marriage. He says he is naturally inclined to go to bed with every beautiful girl he sees, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. Umm, sounds like he may be preparing us for a Ted Haggard style revelation. Even if he does manage to restrain himself, how does this explain that monogamous homosexual nature is not the right thing to do? If he really wants to transcend his basic instincts, he should realize that the bible is filled with re-interpreted opinion pieces rumored down the grapevine from disciples to religious clerics over two thousand years. I wonder… would he ever dare to think the issue through on his own?

These people just want to silence free speech and say Mahers "offensive" while completely ignoring the fact that the catholic and other churches have KILLED people for not believing what they believe. Native Americans in South America were forced into houses that were set on fire and hung but there toes could touch the ground where there toes could touch the ground allowing for a slow death.

What is truly offensive is how the vatican became extremely rich from slavery, murder, kidnap and then rape as in the inquisitions, false sense of entitlement to other peoples lands. Need I go on? It is the duty of everyone in the world to SUE THE VATICAN on the grounds of how it passed down tons of generational wealth via theft and murder of various peoples from Europe to the Americas to Africa and Asia.

And regarding the big three: If you fuck up you should have to deal with the fact you are indeed a failure. Its the executives faults for bad decision making that got them into the mess they're in. If hypothetically Japan makes a car that just runs off of water don't blame me for being a responsible citizen who is environmentally conscious who, like any sane person, avoids paying for gas if he could help it.

The big three BETTER start making hybrids (or better yet water power cars!) since fuel efficiency is very important. I'd rather see the big three go out of business entirely so new companies that know how to give the people what they want will emerge. Because in the end it's really all about the consumer. Green car companies would be an excellent source of jobs and would save some money by not having to give to parasitical oil companies who suppressed alternative energy technologies since Nikola Testla.
