Republicans, stop calling Obama elitist

Because the real reason you don't like him is that he's smarter than you.

Sept. 5, 2008 New Rule: Republicans need to stop saying Barack Obama is an elitist, or looks down on rural people, and just admit you don't like him because of something he can't help, something that's a result of the way he was born. Admit it, you're not voting for him because he's smarter than you.

In her acceptance speech, Gov. Sarah Palin accused Obama of using his run for the White House as a "journey of personal discovery" -- this from the lady who just spent 10 minutes of her speech introducing her family -- Track, Trig, Bristol, Piper -- for a minute there I thought she was calling in an airstrike.

Karl Rove described Obama as "the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini, and making snide comments about everyone who passes by." Unlike George Bush, who's the guy at the country club who makes snide comments, and then passes out. Now this characterization, of course, was something Mr. Rove just completely pulled out of his bulbous, gelatinous ass, but remember this is America, a land where people believe anything they hear. One of McCain's ads casts Obama as "the one," implying he thinks he's the Messiah. Good, maybe he can raise McCain from the dead.

It doesn't matter to Karl Rove that his country club characterization is fictitious, it's the role that Obama must play if the party of plutocrats is going to win over the little guy. Over and over at this convention we heard about the new put-upon victim in our society, the person in America, like Sarah Palin, who's constantly mocked because they're from a ... small town! Governor Yup Yup's got 'em all riled up about being disrespected.

Barack Obama can't help it if he's a magna cum laude Harvard grad and you're a Wal-Mart shopper who resurfaces driveways with your brother-in-law. Americans are so narcissistic that our candidates have to be just like us. That's why George Bush is president. And that's where the McCain camp gets its campaign strategy: Paint Obama as cocky and arrogant and wait for America to vote him off, like the black guy in every reality show. A black president? Half of Pennsylvania isn't ready for black quarterbacks. Forget Obama, they think Will Smith needs to be taken down a peg.

And finally: As for "country first," you know who's putting country first? I am, by supporting Obama, because a victory this fall for the McCain-Mooseburger ticket would make my job in the next four years very, very easy.

Why should the middle class pay for another tax break for the wealthy?
You need to realize something. There has been more of a redistribution of wealth in the past eight years, than any other time in our history. The wealthy in this country have a responsibility to spend money, responsibly, in order to keep the economy moving. If they do not, the government MUST tax them and spend it for them.

As far as your government handouts, are you ready to give up your social security? Social security was supposed be part of the "safety net", not a way of life. Both of my grandfathers and many of my great uncles worked well into their 80s. My grandmother, bless her soul, just turned 90 and still works four days a week. My father is the only "bum" in the family. After working for the state for about 20 years he retired at 62 and a half and collects SS and a pension. Sounds good huh? Well he had a really cushy job as a shop supervisor. Now, since he has retired, his emphysema has gotten much worse and he has developed an arrhythmia. He should have kept working, son of a bitch. Just kidding.

Regarding good ol' Joe, the plumber. He's an idiot and has no business trying to buy his boss's or any other business. I built my business from the ground up. I did however, have the family name which my grandfather built up from '47 to the mid 80s. Let me tell you, taxes are really the least of my concerns. After payroll, my biggest burden is insurance. Not health (I don't offer it), but general liability and worker's comp. These two insurances are a huge burden and impediment. I have an accountant to worry about taxes.

About whether Obama is ready to lead. Probably not. But neither was Kennedy. He won the biggest game of chicken in the history of man with the Cuban missile crisis. Almost got us all fucking killed but...

I don't trust McCain. He says he's a maverick but he caved to the party bosses by picking Sarah Palin. He wanted Joe Lieberman but, they wouldn't let McCain pick him. Don't try to tell me she's qualified. You know God damned well she isn't.

After the past eight years, we desperately need someone like Obama, with the help of Biden, to reestablish our credibility around the world with our friends and enemies.

Just be a man and admit Bush/Cheyney was a huge mistake and bow out gracefully.

First of all Mike M... pretty good insight and a couple good points. Thank you.

Secondly, I know the following is long, but I think there are a couple points that people might want to comment on.

I don’t want to be condescending, but after most of what I have been reading here… we have to agree that as citizens of this country, we have to be more educated about how our government works beyond what some of us might remember from watching Schoolhouse Rock on Saturday mornings.

Regarding more or less taxes… It depends on how the government (or candidate) rigs the numbers. They can cut taxes in one place and raise them in another place, when and where you’re not looking. A politician will say he or she is for cutting taxes and at the same time the opponent will say the other is raising them and they both will be right. The truth is politicians tell you what you want to hear. As far as I know, when thinking of buying anything, you either determine that you can’t afford it and don’t buy it, or you pay for it when you get it, or you put it on a “credit card”. Person or government, those are your legal options. And if we are honest with each other, there are some things that we need in order to prosper and get richer ourselves that only the government can purchase effectively. So again, if we are honest with each other, is it really that we don’t want to pay taxes or is it that we don’t trust our government to spend the money wisely? I just wish we would have discussions of what is worth spending our money on and how can we can have input and oversight on whether those things are run efficiently or not. I’d like to talk to people about what we should spend our money on that would be an investment that makes us all richer in the long run, rather than short term padding of someone else’s pocket.

Regarding if we will have inflation… Whether we have it or not is not going to be up to Obama or McCain. We’ve just dumped over 700 Billion dollars of un-backed currency into our economy. (We’re just going to print it.) It’s not a Republican or Democratic thing. It’s a Government thing and inflation is going to happen. Get used to it. It will be the cost of keeping the economy from going into a free-fall.

Regarding how bad of inflation we will have… Again, it depends on how government rigs the numbers. The government likes to give out AVERAGE inflationary numbers. So, whether the government talks about the Consumer Price Index or the Cost-of-Living Index or the Annual Inflation Rate, etc. etc. the government can and does rig the numbers that go into the figuring of the averages in order to calm people down or get people riled up. (Anyone who has had to go out and buy a gallon of milk over the last four years realizes we have been living with high inflation already.) As an example, since 1913 when our government started gathering their data, the cumulative inflation rate from 1913 to 2008 has been over 2000%!!! And one might ask, “Why in the hell would a government want to let inflation get so out of hand?!?! Well… there really isn’t a good reason… unless by chance you have a government that runs up a HUGE debt and wants to decrease the percentage that debt is, when related to the country’s gross national product. DUH!!! By why would a country’s government want to do anything that could help the government itself but would actually hurt the people they govern? But I repeat…. DUH!!!

MIKE:

About redistribution of wealth and Social Security:

Yes, you are right to a degree, that there has been, from a certain perspective, a recent "redistribution of wealth". But let me explain to you why this concept is BAD. It begins with a bill being passed, for example- to "nationalize health care". What will happen were Obama to do that? With a democratic controlled congress, the government would at first, simply oversee this project. But soon to follow would come permanent legislation for the government to handle this "health insurance" personally, INDEFINITELY. That is another way of saying that small "private" insurance companies would end up folding, since all their members would flock to the national plan that has the same health/family package for less. The private companies that have OTHER types of insurance, home owners, auto, life etc. would still have THOSE venues to sustain them, but in the near future the greed in Washington would cause them to expand national health care to national auto, life, and other private necessities. THEN, all private insurance would be gone, and the government would hold a monopoly, and they would then get to dictate WHO WOULD GET WHAT COVERAGE. There is another word for a government with this much control over the people: COMMUNIST. Obama rhymes with Osama and I say HELL NO.

Social Security: If you are willing to do the research, deep study of the current crisis in Social Security, you will discover the truth, THERE IS NO SPOON. Social Security is working right now today, ONLY for current retirees, and even at that hundreds of thousands are not getting the amounts that they need to keep their lifestyle. There is only one reason the system has not been shut down, Washingtonians have their greedy fingers in that pot and are taking from it to line their pockets in the name of numerous expenses, but they take MORE than needed and launder the rest into their fat wallets. I pay this DAMN MONEY every PAYCHECK, and I KNOW that when I retire the system will be GONE. And I FREAKING HATE IT!!! I do not want to pay another pavement-pounded PENNY to "SS". Isn't it funny that the Germans had a special unit called the "SS" in WWII?? HAH!! Washington is simply taking every dime they can squeeze out of social security before the system collapses with the burdened economy.

Well, I wrote a long tirade on economy, I guess it’s time for healthcare…

The World Health Organization has carried out an analysis of the world’s health systems using five performance indicators to measure health systems in 191 member states. The U. S. health system spends a higher portion of its gross domestic product than any other country but ranks in the mid 30’s (consistently around 35) out of 191.

I am a proud American and frankly it gets me mad that every other industrialized nation on the planet gets better health care for their money than we do. And frankly, I’m tired of having my money wasted! It reminds me of all those people you hear about who grew up in the Great Depression of the 1920’s and 1930’s, who say, “Oh we had a lot of fun growing up because we didn’t know we were poor. Everyone was like us and we didn’t know any better.” Just because someone doesn’t know any better or can’t think of any thing better, doesn’t mean it doesn’t or can’t exist. Personally, I think if Americans get together, we can have something that is the best in the world, gives everyone coverage and at least costs us less than what we pay out right now.

We need to disconnect health insurance from the work place. Ironically, most of the push back to do this is not from the factories or small businesses, it’s from the large white collar companies, the tech companies, the large legal firms, etc.(and I’m sure they don’t have any pull in Washington) and basically any company that relies almost exclusively on the brain power of it’s employees. I personally feel that if people could have health insurance for themselves or their families without the need for an employer, we would have an entrepreneurial boom that would make your head spin.

And if you want to get technical, currently everyone has health coverage. It’s called crisis healthcare, it’s managed by the Emergency Departments across the country and it’s the most expensive one there is - which has been proven from above. I have been part of the healthcare system for many years, I have seen the games the insurance and pharmaceutical companies play and I know what I’m speaking about. With the current crisis on Wall Street and the rampant greed that is being exposed, is there really anyone left that would honestly say that the greed on Wall Street was for only banking and stock traders and all other Fortune 500 companies are really nice guys and do what’s right for the common man? Get real.

We need to transition to a preventative healthcare system (in whatever form that takes) and I think we, American’s are the smartest people on the planet and can figure out how to do that better and cheaper than any other nation. But we have to first admit that there must be something better than what we have know and think “out-side-the-box”, stop saying or thinking that to change means we have to have what some other country has. We’re America. We can do this if we get past ourselves and our own ignorance.

I’ll even give an example… With our current technology of computers, scanners, etc., why is it not possible to join a gym, have your membership card scanned each time you go and at the end of the year, get a legal print out of how often you went to the gym so that if you can prove you went on an average of twice a week, you can get a tax refund for the amount of the gym membership and you also get an automatic deduction on your insurance premiums? To me, that’s an example of promoting national health, gives incentives for opening “mom & pop” businesses that helps local economies and just might help people live longer and be more productive to the national economy - all at the same time. Just a thought.

los angeles lisa: I just read your idiotic post. It gagged me with all the usual BS we hear front lefties.
Puppet Obama spent 143 days in the US Senate before he threw his hat in the ring for the Presidency of this great Country.
His community organizing skills were honed with the Marxist handbook written by Saul Alisky. As State Senator from Illinois, well known for it's corrupt politics, he furthered the building of low-income housing which is now condemed for demolotion due to shoddy construction and no upkeep.
He and his just-now-proud-to-be-an-American wife show extremely faulty judgment in taking their children to a "church" where the "reverend" spews hatred for America. He has represented ACORN (after teaching it's members socialist tactics)which is now being investigated in 11 states for voter registration fraud. He refuses to allow his health, birth (one copy was released and is believed to have been amatuerously altered), college records to be released. What is he hiding? He is not to be trusted with our Country and with the future of our children or grandchildren.
He is not an honest person and he is not patriotic. Why replace the American flag on your campaign jet with your personal logo (shades of a traitor)?
He passed zero legislation in the State Senate and double zero as a US Senator. Ready to lead the greatest country on earth? In your dreams, and the maelvolent machine behind him. Being editor of The Harvard Law Review is a voluntary position and he contributed zero articles for publication. Looks good on the resume. He is a hypocrite and says what he wants to masses to hear.

geniemaker, I assume you are not a healthcare provider or work in the healthcare industry or you would understand that we have a crisis in our country. I also gather from your response, that anything that sounds remotely “left”, “liberal”, “new”, etc. is an excuse to blast Obama. Well, that’s your call. It’s election time. Personally, I don’t thing Obama or McCain has the answer. Neither do I think that only the Democratic Party or the Republican Party can figure it out because both parties are owned by big businesses. They’ve gotten big and powerful with the current system, so what’s the insensitive to change? (I do agree that this whole idea of Obama’s of “Change” is a lot of !@*!# and probably not true.) But, if I have to put out money in taxes, I want a better system for my money than what we have. I’m not being a Democrat or a Republican, I’m being CHEAP!!!

Doesn’t it bother you that there are countries out there that have lower birth deaths, longer life spans, healthier people in general than we have. Aren’t you American enough to say that we in this country deserve the best health care system and that has to include the best health coverage and a government that promotes healthy living? I don’t understand how anyone can be a patriot and not have the courage to look at every possibility from wherever it comes from to make our country better.

So keep up your enthusiasm. At least you have it and that’s rare in itself. I only ask that you continue to look at this issue after the election and use your energy to understand it for yourself before you are in need of a medical emergency. It’s not pretty out there.

Funny how conservatives are calling Obama (and his wife) elitist when they both had tough times growing up and had to borrow money and get scholarships to go to college. McCain was the son of a very high-ranking officer and then he re-married into big money. Sounds a touch elitist to me. Remember when he didn't know how many houses that he owned? Now that's a lot of money. No wonder he wants to peg overhauling the tax system as a socialist re-distribution of the wealth. I don't think that McCain or even Palin are bigots because they can get elected in states with large native american populations. However, I'd like to remind folks that when speaking to groups about his POW experience, McCain referred to his captors as "gooks" and then had to apologize for it later. As an Asian American, I haven't forgotten that but most of us would forgive him for his poor choice of words, given his experience. Time to ask them to repudiate the supporters of McCain-Palin shouting about Obama "kill him," the Keating Five, Todd Palin's association with the Alaska Secessionist movement, Palin's pregnant daughter (Miss family values), who will care for her less than year-old special-needs baby, and if Todd Palin is more of the two-for-the-price-of-one than Bill and Hillary ever were. Be honest - the senior Bush had that idiot Dan Quayle as his VP and even that twirp was better equipped to be a heartbeat from the presidency than Sarah Palin. Westeagle1 was right: Moose U both!

Let me tell you about my little bout with the health insurance industry.

I was 40 years old, single, no kids and a smoker. I was quoted a price of about $250/month for a mid-grade policy with Horizon BC/BS. No prescription coverage.

Not having had a physical in about 12 years I figured it would be a good idea to get one. My policy had a health and wellness clause along with lab work expenses. I figured anything they found wrong with me would be a pre-existing condition, and anything not found that popped up later would not.

Now, I have been suffering from acid reflux for about 15 years. I let them know that by checking that box on the application. I take Prilosec OTC everyday and have very few problems.

After going to the doctor and getting a physical and having lab work done and getting a clean bill of health, I got a bill from the insurance company for all fees incurred. So, I called them. They told me they would not pay because I had a pre-existing condition: acid reflux. I told them, I didn't go to the doctor for treatment for my acid reflux, I went for an annual physical. They told me they weren't going to pay because I had a pre-existing condition. I asked them, if I broke my leg, would I be covered or would I by denied because of my pre-existing condition? No answer.
So, I got stuck with the bill and canceled my policy.

I DO NOT trust these fucking insurance companies AT ALL. It's nothing more then legalized racketeering. They screwed up the whole system with "managed care", which was nothing more then a huge scam.

I hope there is a socialized system put in place and put all those bastards out of business!!!

asiana ~ I am so sorry you are so very totally uninformed and/or lacking in knowledge.
For your information, neither Obama nor his wife would release their school financial records. It is terribly expensive to attend college and Harvard Law School. I,for one, would like to know what they are hiding.
He traveled extensively around the globe (Indonesia, Africa, etc.) which also costs a lot of money. Who financed his trips?
Sinister forces are at work here because when a person, esp. one for the Presidency of the United States, refuses to allow open records, something must be afoul.
I appreciate the fact that the Senator is well-spoken and educated, but when his wife goes on national TV and says for once in her life (she's in her 40's and also attended Harvard) she is proud of her country because her husband won the primaries, I smell an unpatriotic rat.
Besides wondering who has financed him and his wife through expensive educations, I wonder if it's true that they were financed by a Mr. Khalid Al-Mansour.
Exactly what else are the Obama's hiding from the American public? After much, much gathering of information outside the mainstream media, of which he is the darling, I am convinced he is a puppet backed by a powerful socialistic leftist organization.
We deserve better.

There you go again. Jumping to conclusions. You're worse than my mother was when I was a teenager. Always assume the worst. You know what they say about assuming. Let me tell you, you ARE making an ASS of U not ME. LOL

Let me ask you a question. Was Sen Joe (not Eugene) McCarthy a patriotic American, or a viscous, sensationalistic hack only concerned with furthering his own career? Was Roy Cohn (his attorney) a queer or a straight man who only fooled around with men on the side? (You know what the Dice Man says? You either suck cock or you don't). Is Bill Clinton the Anti-Christ?

The fact is, many individuals and corporate entities donate money anonymously every day. And they wish to stay that way.

Why don't you just admit it?

Sarah Palin says that abortion should be something that the states should settle, but then she says that gay marriage should be a national amendment. So is she a Federalist or NOT. She can't even agree with John McCain on this point, http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081021/ap_on_el_pr/palin_gay_marriage#full

Perhaps she doesn't know, like she doesn't know what magazines and newspapers she reads. Also she is now the resident expert for the Republican Party on Russia because she has seen them from her house.

I feel sorry for her because she is not self aware at all, and she must be the most narrow minded and stupid woman that has ever been put in the public light, except maybe for ? Well I can't think of a more stupid woman who has ever been in the public light.

While my messages may be filled with Hatred for her, it is because she is SO STUPID.

another article I found.

(I guess OBama doesn't know this person either!!)

Barack Obama's newly appointed Muslim outreach adviser is coming under fire for meeting with Islamic groups with extremist views, just two months after her predecessor resigned over links to a radical cleric.

Minha Husaini met with members of several Islamic organizations in Virginia on September 15 -- including some that terrorism experts say have ties to Hamas and the radical Muslim Brotherhood.

Among the attendees were senior members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which was listed by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror-related trial.

Several people connected to CAIR have been convicted of felonies -- including on terrorism-related charges.

CAIR bills itself as the nation's largest Muslim civil-rights advocacy group. As recently as last year, it advised the Transportation Security Administration on sensitivity training regarding Muslim air travelers. Nihad Awad, a CAIR co-founder and executive director, met with President Bush in the aftermath of 9/11.

But critics say CAIR has a long history of masquerading as a moderate Islamic group.

"These groups, even if they themselves are not active terrorist organizations, do subscribe to large amounts of the ideology that fuels the terrorism that we are being confronted with," said Andrew McCarthy, former Assistant U.S. Attorney.

CAIR did not return repeated calls for comment.

Awad, who was at the September meeting with Husaini, recently attended a dinner with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Also present at the Sept. 15 meeting was Mahdi Bray, who has publicly announced his support for the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. Bray, the executive director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation, raised his fist in the air during a rally in Washington in October 2000 to demonstrate his support for the terror groups.

Bray refused to comment on the recent gathering. "It was a closed meeting," he told FOX News.

Johari Abdul Malik, imam of the Dar Al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church, Va., also participated in the meeting. During a conference in Chicago in 2001, he told attendees, "You can blow up bridges, but you cannot kill people who are innocent on their way to work." In November 2004 he told followers, "You will see Islam move from being the second largest religion in America -- to being the first religion in America."

Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt said the campaign would not have sent a representative to the meeting had it known the list of participants.

"This meeting was not organized by the campaign -- our outreach staff attends many meetings in the course of each day and they accepted an invitation from community leaders to attend," LaBolt told FOX News in a written statement.

The Obama campaign's previous Muslim outreach advisor, Mazen Asbahi -- who stepped down in August following reports he was linked to a radical imam -- also attended the meeting.

In a brief telephone conversation, Asbahi refused to discuss why he was at the meeting or whom he was representing.

According to LaBolt, "[Asbahi] is not an employee of the campaign and does not speak on behalf of the campaign."

Funny how conservatives are calling Obama (and his wife) elitist when they both had tough times growing up and had to borrow money and get scholarships to go to college.

here's your answer oh smart one!!!!

Every part of this obviously fake interview is absolutely true. If you do not believe it, look it up on the internet…or better yet, email the Obama campaign and ask them.

Interview with United States
Democratic Presidential Candidate
Barack Hussein Obama

Question 2: Mr Barack Hussein Obama; is it true you recently ask 2 of your close campaign advisors / staffers to leave because they had close ties to the mob?

Answer: Yes, that is true. You know how some people are about the mob….they may not vote for me if I kept those guys close. But I only need to keep them at arms length until after the election you know.

Question 3: Mr. Barack Hussein Obama; Is it true that your run for the IL State Senate was launched from William Ayers living room. That you were there to ask for his fund raising support and help. And isn’t this the same William Ayers that belonged to the Weathermen terrorist group of the 1960s that bombed police stations. And wasn’t he jailed for his many terrorist’s related activities. And wasn’t it true that you knew this about him and that is why you went to his home to ask for his support in your run for the Senate? Isn’t it also true that in a Sept 11th 2001 interview, William Ayres said that he “Does not regret setting the bombs”, and when asked if he would do it again, he said “I don’t discount the possibility”.

Answer: Yes that is all completely true…you can look it up on the internet, so I can’t lie. But remember, my bud Bill knows lots of power broker people and I needed him and his peoples support to win.

Question 4: Mr. Barack Hussein Obama; After you became the Democratic candidate for President of the US, I believe your wife said on national TV that “for the first time she was proud of the US”. Wouldn’t that mean she was not proud of the US at any time before her husband became the nominee?

Answer: Well, since she said it on national TV it is pretty hard to deny.

Question 7: Mr Barack Hussein Obama, is it true that you were able to buy your home in Chicago at almost half its appraised value through a convicted felon named Tony Resco. Would it not be safe to assume you owe this convicted felon a favor for doing this for you?

Answer; Of course you must take care of those that take care of you. Everyone helps their friends, and Tony is my friend.

Question 8: Mr Barack Hussein Obama is it true you attended a church in Chicago for over twenty years where the radical preacher, a Rev Wright, preached hatred and death to Jews and Whites, and is this the same preacher that baptized your children and the same preacher you called a “true friend”. However until you were running for President of the United States did you decide to denounce him and stop attending his church because of his “unrealistic unchristian beliefs”? Wouldn’t a true Christian have left this church long before now….….before you became worried that your association to him might cost you some votes for the Presidency of the United States?

Answer: Yes this is also true….but you know how it is….you don’t really listen in church to what the preacher says, and as we all know, every vote is important. After the election I do intend to begin attending his church again you know.

Question 10: Mr Barack Hussein Obama isn’t it true that you campaigned with Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick of Detroit to lend your voice and support to his reelection campaign. You called him a friend and great servant of Detroit and asked the residents of Detroit to reelect an “honorable hardworking servant”. You did this even after you knew he had been accused of stealing money from the city to buy his wife a Lincoln Navigator and that he had held wild parties at his Governor’s mansion that included strippers and the use of cocaine and in which a young girl died while at the party. And then your friend the Honorable Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick fired the 2 Detroit policemen who were investigating the girl’s death? When everyone in Detroit knew these acquisitions were most likely true, you continued to support him. But you were willing to overlook all the evidence against him and the fact everyone else knew was true? FYI, He went to prison. Sounds like you don’t have a real good track record of picking your friends? Think you will do better picking your cabinet if elected to the highest job in the land? And why would you want to associate with known criminals and dishonest people?

Answer: Well you gotta remember I did ask my bud Kwame not to come to my Democratic National Convention once my advisors told me that if I still kept calling him my friend it might cost me some votes.

Question 11: Mr Barack Hussein Obama, isn’t it true that one of your primary campaign promises is to raise the capital gains tax on investments and the personal income tax rate of the “rich”. You feel this will raise more tax money from the rich who make most of the investments that are subject to capital gains taxes? But, isn’t it true that 100% of the time capital gains taxes have been raised historically and their tax rate increased, that the rich reduce their investing in stock / Corporations and thus the Corporations have less money to spend and the economy suffers from lack of investment and the consequences 100% of the time (proven by both the best Democratic and Republican economists of the world) is that Corporations then need to reduce costs to save their money and their first cost reduction is usually laying-off the blue color / lower paid employees, hurting those very same Americans you are saying you want to help? Isn’t it true that this is a very basic Economics 101 principal taught in the every college across America?
Answer; Well that all is true OK, but I do not believe the working class / lower educated Americans will be able to associate the 2 events as being related and they will just see me raising taxes on the rich, and that will make them happy. You see the rich make up only 5% of the population and the middle class / poor make up the rest, so obviously I am going to do things that, on the surface, make it look like I am helping the larger group of voters. Those poor / lazy / / uneducated / less ambitious people didn’t take Economics 101, so they will never know I was the one ultimately responsible for their job loss. They will just blame the rich corporations and the previous administration. Of course this all makes me look better, and after all isn’t that what politics is all about anyway…..slight of hand tricks and perception…..not reality?

Question 14: Mr Barack Hussein Obama, is it also true you have no foreign policy experience, that you have no relationships with any foreign dignitaries or Heads of State, but you want to be the one responsible for “pushing the button”?
Answer: Well yes, I guess that is also true…….but I am really good at learning as I go, and I like pressing buttons.

Question 15: Mr Barack Hussein Obama, is it true that you have no military experience at all?

Answer: That is also true….but then there are a lot of us that do not believe in war and found ways around joining the service and putting our lives in danger……and basically being unwilling to fight for our Country.

Question 16; Mr Barack Hussein Obama, isn’t it true you personally requested over $860,000,000 in pork barrel / special interest budget spending in your short time in the Senate…..(thus raising the national debt)? And your vice presidential selection Joe Biden requested $51,300,000 in pork-barrel spending this year alone. Isn’t it true that special interest money is almost always requested by a politician as a repayment for something the special interest group has done for them in the past or because the politician is looking for the special interest group to do something special for them in the future?

Answer; Actually that is true….but remember the way you get people to vote for you is to give them money…. That is one of the reasons I have a better chance of being elected than McCain, because he has not ask for, or received, even one penny of earmarks / special interest money in his entire 26 years in the Senate. Pretty stupid of him huh?

Question 17; Mr Barack Hussein Obama, is it true that you actually sent 41 lawyers to Alaska to dig up dirt on Senator Palin within hours of when McCain selected her as the Republican VP nomination?

Answer; True, but can you blame me since he picked someone I didn’t expect. I already had dirt on all the other potential picks, but he faked me out.

Question 18: Mr Barack Hussein Obama, I understand you will not produce your birth certificate, though it is the law that to run for president you must have been born in the US and be at least 35 years of age. Why do you believe the govt is not making you provide this document so we can make sure you meet the qualifications?

Answer; Remember all those terrorists, mobsters, and tax payer pork barrel money I gave away…..well now you know.

Question 19; I worked for the DoD for a short time and was required to have a top secret clearance because I handled sensitive documents. Yet because you associated with known terrorists, mobsters, and convicted felons, you are unable to get any clearance. Can you explain how the President of the US doesn’t need any clearance when he will see significantly more sensitive information than I did?

Answer; nope….guess that means I can share anything I want with anybody I want huh?

Question 20: Mr Barack Hussein Obama, is it true you are running for President of the United States…the leader of the most powerful country in the world, the leader of the largest and oldest democracy in the world?

Answer: Yep, also true…. but no one is perfect you know…..ain’t this a great country.

Democrat or Republican….this should scare the s___ out of you!

I won't stop until you Liberals understand what is happening.

Obama’s record is scary. According to the National Journal, Obama’s voting record was the most liberal record in 2007. Why is this scary?
(Radical) Gun Control: The Second Amendment states, ‘A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.’ There is no way to misinterpret this – at all. The Founding Fathers knew that the citizens of free State needed to be able to protect themselves in order to remain free. This concept was so important that our Founding Fathers made it the second amendment. Obama seems to think otherwise. According to OnTheIssues.Org, Obama came out saying, ‘...just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can’t constrain the exercise of that right, in the same way that we have a right to private property but local governments can establish zoning ordinances that determine how you can use it.’ This is fine. There’s no reason not to disallow criminals, mentally deranged or retarded people to own guns. But in 1996, Obama wrote on the following questionnaire presented by Independent Voters of Illinois:
‘35. Do you support state legislation to:
a. ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns? Yes.
b. ban assault weapons? Yes.
c. mandatory waiting periods and background checks? Yes.’
Flat out, Obama answered ‘YES’ to ban the sale, manufacture, and POSSESSION of handguns. This is in direct contradiction to the Second Amendment. Obama’s campaign responded, ‘Sen. Obama didn’t fill out these state Senate questionnaires--a staffer did--and there are several answers that didn’t reflect his views then or now. He may have jotted some notes on the front page of the questionnaire, but some answers didn’t reflect his views.’

I am loving this forum more all the time. Many of the recent posts about Obama have been right on the button. But who was that- "KATIE"?? Talking about abortion as if it is a good thing? I believe that abortion does have it's very limited applications, a mother's life being in grave danger for example, then it should be her choice, unless she is unconscious, then her family's. But killing a defenseless baby just because you are a promiscuous teen and don't want mommy and daddy to find out- KATIE your example proves your lack of moral responsibility, and it proves you hold no decent value on human life. For the record, I am NOT a Christian, nor am I with any religious affiliation, and even I understand the evil nature of America's abortion laws. It is for one reason only: KILL the baby because it is easier than dealing with the obvious consequences of your own FOOLISH actions. If you don't want kids, there are 2 options: Get yourself FIXED like a responsible person, or be a twisted #()@%^ and Kill the baby. You suck so bad.

I'm sooooooo afraid Obama will actually become president. If he's not a terrorist he must be the Anti-Christ. Actually, I am afraid. If he becomes president I'm afraid some fucked up, stupid, redneck will kill him. The same way they killed the Kennedys, King and Lennon. Oh, don't forget about that asshole that blew up the federal building in Oklahoma City. He was a TRUE American hero.

The fact of the matter is, the republican leaders don't care about you. They only care about protecting the money of all those old blue blood bastards that hand all their money down from generation to generation. And they won't stop until they get it all. That includes your Social Security and Medicare. They have got you so brainwashed you actually believe that Obama is a terrorist, or a Communist or the Anti-Christ; whatever the flavor of the day is. But, we do know one thing for sure. He's black. And he's going to bring in all his black buddies and increase they're welfare and food stamps, and give them all the reparations for slavery that they want. Right?

McCain has already promised another tax cut for the wealthy. How's he going to pay for it? By cutting discretionary spending? Who needs new roads, bridges, fire trucks, police vehicles, schools? Maybe the tax cuts will grow the economy and pay for themselves. Where have I heard that before? He's going to have to BORROW more money from China and Saudi Arabia, selling out our children's future. Now tell me, who's the communist terrorist?

Bill,

Thanks for having Sen Bernie Sanders on the show last Friday. I think he made a very strong point about the day after we vote, and that we all should be trying to make America a better place. That is what we are striving for, to make America the best country in the world.

Unfortunately, we are no longer top in education, health care (although we spend the most for our health care in the world), and media coverage. It was interesting to find out that our media coverage is considered 23 over all for truthfulness in news coverage. That we are below most European countries on truthfulness.

Sen. Bernie Sanders is right what happens after November 4th will be the turning point in the history of this country; people need to be use the passion they have found for the election and turn it towards positive efforts to remake America. Volunteering for education or some other efforts could make a change in the lives of Americans. Can we have a War on Education? Have everyone in this country become involved in volunteering to help schools, because education is going to be one of the major tools we can use to rebuild our economy.

Anyway, thanks for the show and thanks for reading our posts.

Mr Scott

You unfairly attacked Katie for things that you inaccurately read into her posting. She has not had an abortion and has acted responsibly with her own reproductive choices.

I strongly disagree with partial birth abortions and late term abortions as I have had many friends who have given birth to premature infants who have survived. So at some point someone must cut off the time limit on these procedures.

However, I also stronly disagree with those who would force a woman to carry a child to term in the instance of rape or incest. Again, for anyone who has been or knows of a woman who has experienced either of these two crimes against her person, body, and psyche; you can't know what it would feel like to pregnant by someone who committed a violent crime against you. It would be inhumane and a form of torture I would liken to the middle ages.

For Sarah Palin to make say that she does not agree with abortion in the instance of rape or incest is her opinion, and it is my opinion that this is a deal breaker between myself and the Republican Party. At the point I listened to Sarah Palin make these statements to Charles Gibson about not allowing abortions in the case of rape or incest, that was the end of my affiliation with the Republican Party.

Rape and incest are not choices that a woman makes, they are crimes and acts of aggression committed against women. To force a woman to carry a child from this act of violence is in itself a crime against humanity.

You need to apologise to Katie for your attack of her. You can disagree with Katie's statements, but you can not attack her as a person.

Derrik Scott said...

Clydene:

You have misinterpreted my data as well- I never said that Katie herself had an abortion- I "personalized" my responses, putting her (so to speak) in the shoes of someone who makes those types of decisions. That is a common method of response when you take issue with someone's views.
Also, AGAIN, I never said I am against rape abortions, I simply only mentioned ONE exception to the rule in my view, rape is another, but the truth of the matter is that women USE these RARE exceptions to JUSTIFY the legality of ALL abortion. MOST women who abort do so out of CONVENIENCE, and that is just WRONG.
About Sarah Palin, if you left the Rep. party just because of that you are just RIDICULOUS. There is NO WAY that this ONE issue is near enough to just jump over to the liberal side, they have MANY other issues I'm sure that you will have problems with. Palin is only 1 republican, and you are crying about just 1 issue with 1 republican. WHATEVER!!

MIKE:

I totally agree. I hope that McCain doesn't make it! I am looking forward to getting a check in the mail when Obama taxes all incomes of $250,000 or more with more taxes. Screw them! They are rich anyway, right? And I deserve some of their money, don't I? Also, Obama said he would give ME (95% of working Americans) a tax cut to boot! I am also looking forward to getting far cheaper, nationalized health care, because that will lead to cheaper auto, life, and home insurance, unemployment will end eventually when federal agents knock on my door and escort me to my new job, and I will not have to give it 100% effort, because my pay will not be too great, therefore my employer's expectations will not be great either. A relaxed workplace! Finally! Some people might view these issues as very bad things, and spew out words like "socialism", but the truth is that at least I will not have to learn how to speak RUSSIAN! AND- maybe Russia will change her mind about America and we will be strong ALLIES when these things happen, CHINA TOO!! That would be GREAT wouldn't it?? I'm all for a communist state! Not to mention my tax cut!! Yeah baby!!!!!!

"You've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?"
This stopped the insane, heinous attacks of the time.

So, to Rep. Michele: "Have you no sense of decency, Madam? You have done enough."

Disclosure

I just had an idea, since Sarah Palin just froze when Ms. Couric asked her about what books she read; why not ask her to make her list of Amazon/Barnes and Nobel books that she has bought on line available for us to see.

It seems only fair that all the candidates list the books that they are reading or have been reading, so we can see what is on their minds.

It seems odd to me that Palin still has not told the public what newspapers and books she reads, and it has been weeks since the interview.

Derrik Scott said...

Clydene:

That is a great idea- I want to know what books Sarah Palin has read too, and also what movies, and music she is into. Does she use Avon products? What is her diet like? Does she eat seal? Polar Bear? Without disclosing all this important information, how can we possibly know what kind of Vice President she will be? I mean, aren't those all the key things Vice Presidents need to know to do their job properly? Surely foreign policy, health care, legislative decision making, and fighting government corruption are not nearly enough. We need to know every aspect of her personal life! Do you feel like an idiot yet?

geniemaker said...

derrik scott ~ thank you for you post to clydene.

clydene said...

Mr Scott

I am concerned about how Sarah Palin enriches her mind. It would be interesting to know what books she reads, if she has read The Coming China Wars, by Peter Navarro, or even if she reads fiction. Has she ever read anything by Paul A. Sameulson. Does she know who John Mayanrd Keynes is? Does she know what Keynesian Economics is? These are important questions.

Unlike you, I could care less about what music she listens to or the cosmetics she uses. It is interesting that you bring up two very mundane activities.

Also I take offense to your mentioning seals and polar bears in such a flippant manner. Perhaps you don't realize that some of us are trying to save animals on this planet from extinction. So your comment about Polar Bears and other animals like seals is offensive to me. I worked on the Polar Bear Protection Act that we tried to get passed in Congress in 2007.

Since Gov. Palin tried to get the Polar Bear taken off the Endangered Species list even after she had several scientists review the papers sent by the US Geological Survey stating that Polar Bears would be extinct in about 2050.

Yes, we knew about her before Sen. John McCain picked her for a running mate. That was why we were so shocked by his choice.

Before you mention this, I do not put the rights of animals above babies, but I put the rights and choice of women who have been victims of raped or victims of incest to make a choice as to whether or not to carry a child of their perpetrator of violence. I do not condone in any manner the use of abortion as a method of birth control, and I am against late term and partial birth abortions.

Again, finding out what Sarah Palin reads would be interesting, but you and others seem to concentrate on the things she reads from teleprompters rather than how she enriches her mind.

clydene said...

Mr Scott and Geniemaker

Why are you so afraid and defensive of Americans and people around the world to learn what Gov. Sarah Palin reads. She had to have three scientists read the reports from the US Geological Survey sent to her.

My question stands, let us see what books she reads, have her publish the list of books she has purchased from Amazon or those she has purchased at Barnes and Nobel. Or even let us look at the books she checked out from the Library where she questioned the books that the Librarian had in Wasilla, Alaska.

Again, why are you two so afraid of what we will find out about what Gov. Sarah Palin reads? I have also asked this of the other candidates.

John McCain an Sarah Palin must be psychic. Somehow, they know, just as sure as there's a God in heaven, that Obama is going to raise my taxes and give it to all those Jerry Springer (guests) welfare recipients. And as far as Joe the plumber, they are so far off base, it's insulting to me; someone who owns a small construction company. But, I guess some people are just clueless having worked for the big Corporation all of their lives.

If my business taxes go up, or any other business expense, I raise my rates. Either that or I get my accountant to squeeze out a few more deductions. Do you think that money comes out of my pocket? Do you?

Corporations, on the other hand, only make money if they INCREASE their profits every quarter. The money they make is directly proportional to that increase, not the overall profit. So, every quarter they need to: raise prices, expand their market, cut jobs and overhead, or some combination of all three. Not an easy thing to do. That's where creative bookkeeping comes into play. Just ask those people at Enron.

I understand that corporations, at one time, were a great asset to this country. They went above and beyond the call of duty during WWII. Yes, even the oil companies, when they built the pipeline from Texas to the northeast refineries.

But, they've outlived their usefulness by burning out the economy and sucking up all the capital, and shipping all of the good jobs to Asia. Who the hell wants to stock shelves in Wal-Mart? I'd kill myself first.

In my personal opinion, I trust the government a hell of a lot more then I trust the big corporations. At the very least, I have some say in who goes to Washington DC. I have no say in who sits on corporate boards.

If you think the government controls too much of your life, just look at the corporations. They control every aspect of your life. Everything. And now, day by day they're controlling more and more of our government. Pretty soon you won't be able to draw a line.

Am I a communist or a socialist? NO. Absolutely, NO. I am an entrepreneur. Am I open to some socialistic reforms in certain aspects of things that greatly affect our lives? Yes. But, first we NEED to take the MONEY out of politics. what happened to campaign finance reform Sen McCain? Did the party bosses order you to lay off the issue? Maverick my ass. Maybe at one time, but not now.

If we don't wake up and start talking seriously about the REAL issues confronting this great nation of ours, and stop bickering about all the bullshit, petty issues we will all be to blame for allowing corporatism to destroy capitalism.

Never, to my knowledge, has someone running for the Presidency, Senator Obama, been so clouded with seditious, traitorous and anti-American baggage. He has welcomed endorsements by (1) Louis Farrakhan (Supreme Leader of the Nation of Islam who has publicly called Obama "The Messiah"); (2) Reverend Jeremiah Wright (known for damning America); (3) unrepentent Weather Underground terrorist William Ayres and his wife, Berndadine Dohrn (on FBI's Most Wanted List for bombing the Pentagon and other American goverment buildings) from whose living room Obama launched his political career; (4) Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour (financial advisor to Saudi royalty); (4) George Soros (multi-billionaire funder of leftwing causes and groups, who put up half the funding of a study that accused the U.S. and it's allies of killing over 650,000 Iraquis, providing a welcome undergirding for Osama bin Laden's anti-American propaganda. No mention of the hundreds of thousands killed by bin Laden's countrymen, including women and children; and last but not least (5) Libyan Dictator Moammor Qadafi. These are the patriots backing Obama.
Even Obama's own wife who in her 40's recently said on national TV she is finally proud of her country. Hello.
Would you expose your precious children to a preacher who loudly proclaims the damning of America? Why wont Obama release his school financial records? Why did it take so long for him to finally produce his "birth certificate"? Why did he use Marxist Saul Alinsky's handbook as a guide for his community organizing, and then teach these same techniques to ACORN (now being investigated by the FBI for voter registration fraud)? Why has ACORN resoundingly endorsed his presidency? Why did Obama promise ACORN they would be involved in his presidency on day 1?
Why did Obama remove the American flag from his campaign jet and replace it with his personal logo? These are all facts diligently researched from a variety of sources, primarily the Internet, because the main stream media refuses to shine the light of truth on their darling.

Why is he taxing the "rich" thereby penalizing success?

"They are always under the dominion of the superstition of government, and forgetting that a government produces nothing at all, they leave out of sight the first fact to be remembered in all social discussion -- that the state cannot get a cent for any man without taking it from some other man, and this latter must be a man who has produced and saved it. This latter is the Forgotten Man."

These are the words of William Graham Sumner, brilliantly analyzed and applied to 21st century America by Amity Schlaes in her recent book, The Forgotten Man.

The economy, health care, education, social security and other issues bedeviling this country will be the least of our concerns if the core values of freedom, unity, patriotism, hard work and striving for success are compromised

Obama's meteoric rise is questionable, at best, as are the millions of dollars raised by his campaign. It's ludicrous to believe those millions are all coming from the "poor" people.
How sad so many Americans are so ignorant of the facts that matter instead of worrying about putting lipstick on a pig.
Ptuee on you all.

I am not by any means defensive about her reading habits- I just think you are hilarious about the idea. And about trying to save all the endangered species- there is alot more work to be done right here at home, with people who are in need of work, people who have lost their houses, victims of abuse, and so on, so why waste ANY time and effort on seals and whales when human beings are in greater need of our help in these trying times? That does not mean that I am unsympathetic toward species on this planet that are in danger of being extinct, but there are priorities we must place, and seals are just not on the list. WAKE UP. Your explanation of what you would do if your taxes were raised IS EXACTLY THE REASON I AM AGAINST IT!! Our economy is in TROUBLE, and Obama has stated clearly that he is going to raise taxes on any incomes of $250,000 or more- and will you take that hit out of your pocket? NO! That is the whole problem! You raise your rates, and WE ARE THE ONES WHO PAY! Other companies raise their rates and WE ARE THE ONES WHO PAY! We do NOT need to pay MORE for products and services just because of Obama's RETARDED "spread the wealth" obsession.
But if McCain gives tax CUTS to those companies, they will LOWER their rates to be more competitive, and it will BOOST the economy, I will pay LESS for those products and services and have money left over for OTHER products and services, so MORE TAXES will HURT the economy, Tax CUTS will BOOST the economy. OBAMA will HURT the economy, McCain will BOOST the economy. But since you are so eager for that tax HIKE- vote for Obama if that is what you want!

McCain, like it or not, is NOT BUSH, and has a long record of opposing legislation that has alot of "freebies" and "clutter" attached to it, that is what McCain calls "pork" and "earmarks". Palin has a GREAT record in Alaska for helping the people in her state in numerous ways, and if you are HONEST you will at least admit that she has done these things and made some great accomplishments. What has Obama done as a senator?? What are his past accomplishments? Giving ACORN $800,000?? Being a member of Reverend Wright's church for 20 years and not knowing that "he preached that stuff"? Helping distribute $200 million nation wide for Ayer's "educational programs" which were really radicalist propaganda instead of science, math and other legitimate educational materials?? WHATEVER! Go vote for a ROCK- because at least a ROCK won't WRECK OUR ECONOMY IF ELECTED!!!

Mr Scott

I am not sure why you are so concerned about how I spend my time. I am sorry that my concerns over the environment disturb you. Yes, I am concerned about the extinction of species on this planet; however, if you take a good look at what is happening to these species you will find the hand of mankind. The pollution from oil and other mining run off in the Cook Inlet in Alaska is like the cause for moving the beluga whale to the endangered species list.

The PCBS now found in fatty tissue polar bears because of human polution is affecting their health because they are getting if from the foods they eat.

We are poisoning this planet, and while I am very concerned about our economy and my own 401Ks; I understand the interconnected nature of Global Warming (or Global Weirding) and polution on mankind. We will have over 10.5 Billion people on this planet by 2050. Environmental and population experts say this planet can comfortably handle 2.5 billion people, so where will the 8 billion go?

We as a nation comprise about 6 percent of earth's total population, yet we consume over 30 percent of the fuel resources of this planet.

While gas prices are currently down, what will happen for the future. We as a nation have gone out and are consuming all, what I call, the easy assess petroleum, which is the surface oil in all these other third world countries around the world. If you want to talk about energy independance then we should look at developing the Shale Oil in the Sierra Madre mountain range, which is the largest desposit of Shale Oil in the world. It will come at high costs though, when oil is over 100 dollars a barrel because it is expensive to extract. Just as it is expensive to extract the oil from Alaska and is only economically attractive when the price is over 100 dollars. It will also have high costs for creating more Global Warming.

The mass extinction of amphibian species and the honey bee around the world is an indicator that your planet is in trouble in terms of food production and clean water. We have not even begun to see what will happen with food and clean water shortages in the future.

So yes, I am concerned about the extinction of Seals, Polar Bears, and Beluga Whales, but i am more concerned about what mankind has done to cause these extinctions, which may lead to the famine and lack of clean water in the future, which will affect mankind.

Since I’m old enough to remember past history and young enough not to be senile (I hope), I have a question for you all to ponder.

First, the past history… If people remember, during the 1980’s our country had also run up another HUGE deficit, mostly under the direction of former President Reagan. Perhaps you recall that during this time everyone thought Japan was going to take over the world. They had bought up Rockefeller Center in New York and large amounts of real estate in this country and Europe. We were in double digit inflation. Ironically, we also had the Friday-the-13th Crash of 1989 that led to the recession of ‘89 to ‘92 that you hear so much about on the news today, due to our recent monetary crisis. By 1990, the deficit had become such a burden on our economy that Reagan’s successor, George H. W. Bush felt taxes had to be raised and he approved the largest tax increase in our country’s history – up to that point. Between the Republican’s revolt and the Democrat’s constant replaying of his campaign slogan, “Read my lips, no new taxes!” G.H.W. Bush lost the election of 1992 to Bill Clinton.

Now the question – or paradox… Who do we really have to give credit to, for turning our country’s economy around starting in 1993? Was it Bill Clinton and his great leadership? Or was it George H. W. Bush and his understanding that raising taxes was needed to get us out of our financial mess and Bill Clinton ended up getting all the credit?

If one thinks raising taxes is the be-all and end-all to bringing down our economy, then I guess you would have to go along with the belief that Bush blew it and Clinton was a genius. If one believes that Bush saved our economy by telling the truth and raising taxes, then Clinton got to take credit for someone else doing what was right.

I personally believe Bush got the short end of the tax-propaganda-stick and if history repeats itself, whoever gets in (no matter what they say today) is going to have to raise taxes. I think the irony is that if you believe in learning from history, you could conclude that whatever party you’re for, you aught to hope that the other party gets elected this year because when they have to raise taxes after this election to pay for our debt, they won’t be back in 4 years and the next guy (or gal) will get all the credit.

First of all,Derrik Scott:
The comment about raising rates was half tongue in cheek. Any small business that is making more than 250,000 AFTER deductions is doing pretty damn good. In fact, I wouldn't consider them a small business with that much net profit. If they are, then they need a new accountant. Don't forget, the Joe the Plumber analogy was for his boss's company's overall net worth, not annual profits. And it turned out, it was more like 100,000. The government doesn't tax you for buying something. Unless it's sales tax. Hey, there's an idea. A national sales tax. (Another tongue in cheek).

Second, WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHY I SHOULD VOTE FOR MCCAIN (besides the fact he was a war hero), AND STOP TELLING ME WHY I SHOULDN'T VOTE FOR OBAMA. Look, if Obama fucks things up, we can vote him out in four years. Or are you so paranoid, you think he'll be able to change the constitution in that period of time?

BS Detective
I think you hit the nail on the head with taxes. It's inevitable.
Almost 20% of the budget goes towards INTEREST payments on the dept, which is over 10 trillion. McCain is going to do it by making people declare their employer paid health insurance benefits as income. Tricky Dick. THE PARTY IS OVER!!! Regardless of who is elected. I'd rather see the top 1% pick up the tab instead of the middle class again.

Bill Kristol (I can't remember if it's a "c" or a "k") said McCain needs to fire his entire campaign staff. I guess for running one of the worst campaigns in the history of man. But if this is how he runs a campaign, how the hell is he going to run the country? Oh, I forgot. Sarah Palin has executive experience. Maybe she should take over the campaign.

All you people who think McCain is God, you know damned well, if Obama was white, he would be at about 80% in the polls. So please, stop trying to scare me. It ain't Halloween yet.

This brings me to a lighter note. The local radio station is throwing a Halloween party. In there commercial they say, "Don't have a costume? Just stop in at your local drugstore, buy a pair of Sara Palin glasses, stick a broom between your legs, and come as a witch."

mike m said...

Derrik Scott ,

One more thing. The Bush tax cuts didn't really help my small business. This is why:
I operate my business as a sole proprietorship. I itemize my deductions. The Bush middle class tax relief was in the form of an increased STANDARD deduction. Since my itemized deductions are well over the standard deduction, I didn't really get a tax break. Tell that to Joe the Plumber.

I think we all want to make America and the World a better place. This song rotated on my iTunes library today and i thought it would be fitting to share with all of you because at the end of the day we all really want the same things, a good life. How we get there is the debate, but we should be kind to each other and love each other. We will never agree on how to get there but at least we can be kind to each other while we are traveling on this road.
Reach Out by Take That
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffhJr9EkIhk
If our arms were reaching out
If our words could only bridge the doubt
Will we lose this change again?
Strange roads with different signs
Don't even know where we divide
Are you my enemy or my friend?
'Cause I don't know you
And you don't know me
It's the same sun rising
We all just look to the sky
If we try
We can work it out somehow
If you don't know me
And I don't know you
How can we be fighting
We're all connected it's true
Reaching out
It's only love that pulls us through

We all grieves in different ways
If one tear could wash away the pain
We're all free to have the faith we believe, yeah
The world sleeps at different times
With one turn your day is now my right
We all live sharing the air that we breathe

Reaching out, reaching high
Reaching out
Touching you, touching me

If our arms were reaching out
If our words could only bridge the doubt

saveourselves: Did you go to the website I sent you?
Here's an email I just rec'd from a friend in Dallas sent by a Law Enforcement Officer in Michigan:

"To all,

I have read all of the emails from Law Enforcement & Military personnel about Barack Obama's rudeness and what seems to be disgust for basically anyone in uniform. Well, it's my turn to add to the list of emailers and here it is:

So members of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, (me included) and other local agencies inside Calhoun County are working with Secret Service in the security of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama's bus arrives in Battle Creek and pulls into the stadium area. Before Mr. Obama exits the bus, he has the Secret Service get off and tell all Law Enforcement personnel in uniform that they now have to stand behind the bus so Mr. Obama is not seen with anyone in a Law Enforcement uniform before he gets off or while in the public view. So, everyone from Michigan State Police, Sheriff's Deptments and other agencies look at each other for a brief second, go and stand behind the bus out of sight so Mr. Obama does not have to see, or been seen with, what to him is 'undesirables' since he refuses to be seen , or even acknowledge Military or Law Enforcement personnel in uniform.

And he wants to be our commander-in-chief!

At a time of war and terrorism in our world, this presidental candidate who is being protected by various branches of the military & law enforcement at the tax payers expense, refuses to acknowledge, be seen with, have in his photographed background, any type of Military or Law Enforcement in uniform.

But this is not in the headlines or in the news or on TV. The TV news doesn't show us marching around behind the bus. In the future, look and see if you can see a single soldier or police officer in uniform when you see Obama. Why? I wonder what the story or media frenzy would be if it was Muslims, blacks, whites, Jews, or any other race, gender, religon, and/or occupation, that Mr. Obama refused to be seen with or have around him.

Why would I make this up? Everyone in Law Enforcement knows we have traditionally had more funding under Democrats.

Just food for thought leading up to November 4th.

(I deleted his name)
Michigan Tactical Officer's Association
Michigan State Police
Executive Board Member"

And if you think for one minute that Nobama raised over $56M in one month from "poor" people, I've got some land to sell you.

You did read in the newspaper (definitely was not on TV) about the entire offensive line of the Dallas (TX) Cowboys (that's a football team, in case you're still fogged up) being registered to vote in Nevada by Nobama's baby, ACORN, whom he previously represented in a fraud case and to whom he earmarked $800K?

Mother Terea is looking down on you and she is not happy with what she sees.

The last debate showed how Obama sang his high praises for Biden his Veep running mate, and that he said he absolutely have trust and confidence in Biden to be a good president if ever, God forbid, something happens.

I am just thinking aloud what if the roles were reversed? What if it was Biden who was running for president. Would he have picked and Obama to be his running mate for Veep?

I think all of us know the answer. It is pretty obvious. Didn’t Biden say during the Democratic primary that he thinks Obama is not qualified to be president? I seriously doubt that he will hire Obama. I think he will instead fire him. And perhaps even hire Hillary!

Our nation's politics is just a big circus! And we are all watching the same character clowns.
Im sick and tired of politicians doing lip service. Same old politics, same career albeit traditional politicians (I will call them TRADPOLS) who will say anything, promise the moon, the stars, everything just to get elected.

The hard truth??? Who ever becomes the next president, life will be difficult. And it will be more difficult for us who are in the middle class; citizens, who are taxed and taxed and taxed again and again. Im tired carrying baggages for those who are not pulling their own weight in this country. Welcome welfare!

You need proof? Watch and listen to CNN’s commentator Ms Donna Brazile. Every time she opens her mouth, it is all bad news, and I feel that there is no more hope on the horizon just listening to her, not withstanding the constant gloomy look on her face. The view from my boob tube is really bad.

More of the same traditional politics. More of the same promises.

The only thing that you can be sure of is that, you can always trust a politician to always lie!

Stop taking my hard earned money! Time for everyone to say enough of taxes! and to Obama, please keep the change to yourself sir. Stop the mantra and same old talking points. Its deafening already.

And the next segment is for our smartest, our lilith!

Fact:
Did not you say sir Mr. Obama that asthmatic kids may be treated using a "breath-a-lyser?" Pretty smart huh, say you lilith? Breath-a-lyser lilith? I thought this was for punks who are stupid enough not to know the difference that driving and alcohol do not mix together.

Fact:
Or have not you heard lilith about Senator Biden's prodding of this man in one of his rallies, to stand up and be seen? The only problem is this man is disabled and wheelchair-bound and everyone listening to Biden saw the poor guy got so red-faced in embarrassment.

Lilith, where are now your clowns? Let me repeat, pretty smart huh?!?!

His sense of fair play and doing what's right is unmatched in the business world. If more CEOs and corporate board members were like him, I'd have a lot less to complain about.

But, I do question why he's voting for McCain. He must still own stock in GE. Doesn't he know about the back room deal with the Obama people?

Obama plans to build windmills throughout the Midwest. GE is a manufacturer of wind turbines. Warren Buffet, an Obama adviser, just pumped 3 billion dollars into GE. You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Although I approve of building windmills, I despise these back room deals at this level. Don't forget, I work in construction. And, I live in a state where if it weren't for bribes, payoffs and kickbacks, nothing would get done. No shit.

Just look at the last back room deal that happened at that level. It was between the Bush people, Exxon/Mobile and Haliburton. We all know what that got us.

Please spare me the Ayn Rand"ish" philosophies on capitalism. It's time for Atlas to "shrug".

mike m said...

Actually, it seems Atlas can't even stand without being propped up by the government these days. What's the tab up to in bailouts (corporate giveaways)?

Contrary to right wing belief, it wasn't Fannie and Freddie that created this mess. They were just the small explosion that set off the nuclear bomb. It was corporations building up their bottom lines with huge amounts of credit, loaned by banks at 30 and 40 to one ratios. That's fucking insane. And, don't forget about derivatives and credit default swaps. How the fuck can you back something without having the capital? They didn't just do it to themselves, they did it to each other. Cutthroat bastards.

They can't be trusted anymore. Just ask Allen Greenspan.

SaveOurselves said...

Mike M, I don't know how to tell you this without being attacked by your enemies, but it doesn't matter; most of the arguments are born out of a magnetic attachment to their love of the idea that business owners should be allowed to stack their profits in Babelian fashion, until it can't be seen through the stratosphere. What's the next sphere, troposphere or something like that? Anyway, it's out of sight to them, way cool. Remember Mr. Rogers? He ran a business in a way that caused his employees to actually like working for him, and in a steel mill for Christ sake! Perhaps only Bill Gates shares that kind of appeal these days, but it never was in fashion because people just wanted to make fun of the kind guy. He was a anomaly, and if there is any truth to reincarnation, perhaps capitalism has a shot still, but unbridled and with no conscience whatsoever, no way! As for the financial crisis, I do have some insight into one portion of it, and if mortgage loans were the main contributor, so be it. I owned a company during the boom years between 2001 and 2005, and I saw some wierd loans pass through my loan orignation software portals, and the loans given to people who did not have to prove their income were, except for a slim few, given to people with equity in their homes and credit scores of 730+. Others, primarily for purchase, used alternative credit, like proof of paying energy bills, auto insurance, etc., for 12 months or more with no delinquencies. They were proven, as much as that can be fact, and their income had to be proven for 12 months with a time in the same occupation of at least 24 months. If they couldn't prove the income with a debt ratio of no more than 41-44%, leaving 56-59% for miscellaneous expenses, they were denied; so when their loans crashed after an FHA arm, which typically increased at a much slower and less drastic rate than other conventional loans, it was because they lost their jobs due to what, I don't know. I did very few arms becuase they fixed rates were so low. The loan scenarios were created by the banks and the government, and most of the underwriters were under a fair amount of pressure to verify that no falsification of documents existed, or the company they worked for had to buy back the loans and thus, the UW lost his or her job. That kind of record didn't transfer with much confidence to a new employer. Their names were all over the loan documents, so there was nowhere to hide. The rest of the story, I have no idea about. I just know the greed has been there for a long time and the scenarios simply added fuel to the fire. Don't let them get you down (I know you won't); they can't help themselves. saveourselves out!

Well, gee, if someone was talking about me being associated with an "Anti-American" pastor and a known admitted terrorist every night for 7 months, I think I might have something to say about that myself. That guy has some nerve! Somebody help Sean Hannity change his diaper and tell him to stop whining so much! And what is with these cupcake interviews with Gov. Sarah Palin? Sean Hannity has his hand so far up her skirt it is ridiculous.

Anyway, all this anti-Obama rhetoric can be summed up best by my good friend Rush Limbaugh: "It's all about race." Enough said! Please go vote!

WILBER IS SAYING THIS:

Why does Obama Protest so much unless he knows Sean is right! What is he scared of? You read Huffington, Kos and all the other liberal blogs, so what are YOU scared of?

Sean Hannity does his homework and Obama knows it.....THAT'S WHY HE IS SCARED!

JUST GO VOTE THEN SHUT-UP AND WHEN IT GOES ALL TO HELL, WE WILL BE BACK....UNTIL THEN, FUNNIN' FUNNIN' FUNNIN'!

To all my "dear friends" on this blog. I voted yesterday and I voted for McCain, a true American patriot. And to those of you who say it's about race, get over it. Nobama is still half white, but he does seem to be ashamed of that.
If you guys/gals get a chance, please google Raila Ondinga and see The Messiah stumping for his cousin (Ondinga) thereby encouraging the needless and heartless bloodshed in Kenya. So sad.
Just read an interesting article about how Nobama cannot get a Top Security clearance because of his known association with anti-American terrorists, incl. Wm. Ayers and his wife, Berndadine Dorhn and Tony Rezko, convicted of federal fraud. How in the heck are we going to allow him to see our sensitive security plans? God help us. For you atheists, I don't know who or what you call on in your time of crisis. Not criticizing, just curious.

When someone calls you "friends," their being disingenuous. What they really mean is "Won't you be my friends?" This sountry is so filled with hate and anger, mostly because the wealth stopped all of the sudden. We have all of our hopes tied up to the dream of wealth that we've forgotten what being human(e) is. Lennon didn't realize, or maybe he did that there IS no country. It's just a word we hold opnto so we can feel safe at night. New Country: Amexicanada, paint all of our faces the same color so no one can tell, adopt a new common language, or start genocide and let the new evolution begin. Hope in God, hope in the stars, hope hope hope hope hope. "We've got to get together sooner or later, cuz the revolution's here."

I was surfing some adult web pages last night and I came across an inflatable Sarah Palin love doll. I shit you not. So, I was thinking of buying it, going to the local Goodwill store to try and find some second hand designer clothes, make up over sized "Neiman Marcus" price tags, and taking it as my date to the Halloween party.

What do you think?

Clydene,

Nice song. If you still believe love can save the world, God blees you. Seriously.

I, on the other hand have become disillusioned. Maybe it's an age thing. But here's how I feel:

I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more,
I wake up in the morning,
Hold my hands and pray for rain,
I've got a head full of ideas,
That are driving me insane,
It's a shame the way she makes me scrub the floor.

I ain't gonna work for Maggie's brother no more.
He hands you a nickle,
He hands you a dime,
He asks you with a grin,
If you're having a good time,
He finds you every time you slam the door.

I ain't gonna work for Maggie's Pa no more,
He puts his cigar,
Out in your face just for kicks,
His bedroom window,
Is made out of bricks,
The National Guard stands around by the door.

I ain't gonna work for Maggie's Ma no more,
She talks to all the servants,
About Man and God and Law,
Everyone says,
She's the brains behind Pa,
She's 68 but she says she's 54.

I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more,
I do my very best,
To be just like I am,
When everybody else,
Wants you to be just like them,
They say sing while you slave but I just get bored.

I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.

or maybe

The Day I Tried To Live
I woke the same as any other day
Except a voice was in my head
It said seize the day, pull the trigger
Drop the blade, and watch the rolling heads

The day I tried to live
I stole a thousand beggar's change
And gave it to the rich

The day I tried to win
I dangled from the power lines
And let the martyrs stretch
Singing

One more time around might do it
One more time around might make it
One more time around might do it
One more time around

The day I tried to live

Words you say never seem
To live up to the ones inside your head
The lives we make never seem
To ever get us anywhere but dead

The day I tried to live
I wallowed in the blood and mud with
All the other pigs

I woke the same as any other day you know
I should have stayed in bed

The day I tried to win
I wallowed in the blood and mud with
All the other pigs

And I learned that I was a liar
Just like you

I agree with everything you say in this blog but i do have a concern that im starting to have about Obama and wether ot not i can vote for this person. AS we have all heard he did not stand for the national anthem. Noe im not making a point im asking a question here becasue I truly dont know but i heard that Obama attending flag burning rallies???? what how can someone who did this now be president.

The following is a narrative taken from Sunday Morning's televised "Meet The Press'. and the author is employed by none other than the Washington Post!! Yeah......the Washington Post of New York and Los Angeles Times fame!! Must say that I'm duly impressed..................

Obama Explains National Anthem Stance Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, "Stand and Face It".

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World T o Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.

"We should consider to
reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love.

It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon t he nations of Islam an unfair injustice.

My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine". Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America .

so my question is how can someoen who has this stance on out National flag be elected president and how exactly is this considered putting country first???

I'm done with Bill Maher. Until tonight's show, loved him and even Tivo'd him. Can't believe he's anti-choice!!! Ommigod. we don't have enough ignorance on the other side and enough being dictated to by the right as to what women can and can't do about abortion - we need Bill Maher to say "There comes a point" when "babies" shouldn't be "killed." Hey Bill - it's a fetus, not a baby, until its born.

My earlier post was about you dressing up your new Sarah Palin doll and taking her out on Halloween. Funny, disrepectful, but funny.

On your other post, well here goes:

I believe that if you hate people and have anger inside it causes you to expend a lot of energy. It takes a lot of energy to be mad and angry. Unfortunately, it is the thing that is driving some people in the election. There are elements of Fear, Anger, and Hatred. What I see is that there are a lot of angry people, and they are taking it out on each other, and we are wasting a lot of energy.

We fear the future, as we have no idea what is going to really happen. Because of these fears we have become angry and hated either Sen John McCain (mostly for Sarah Palin) or Barack Obama (because we fear him for a variety of reasons, but it comes down that we still as a nation fear the color of his skin.)

Because of our Fears we as a nation have been lashing out at each other which has been a huge waste of energy over the last 8 weeks.

Where as if we approach something from love and kindness we get energy back from the situation. Several times each month I deal with some disabled people and no matter how difficult the situation I project love to them when dealing with them, and it has always made dealing with whatever situation is going on better.

I don't tell the people that I love them, but when dealing with them I think;I love you and want what is best for you; let me love you and do what is best for you. But I try to do this with everyone when presented with a problem.

Is it going to change the world? Well who can tell, but if tomorrow and for the rest of your days, or the days of anyone who reads this if we could all approach all situations with love, the maybe WE can change the world just one step at a time, just one person at a time.

To put it in the context of all of this, we as nation need to love each other and work together. All this hate is not going to get us anywhere. We need to put aside the Anger and Fear we have an I guess and let love rule our world.

The Starfish Story

A young man is walking along the ocean and sees a beach on which thousands and thousands of starfish
have washed ashore. Further along he sees an old man, walking slowly and stooping often, picking up one
starfish after another and tossing each one gently into the ocean.

"Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?," he asks.

"Because the sun is up and the tide is going out and if I don't throw them further in they will die."

"But, old man, don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it! You can't possibly save them all, you can't even save one-tenth
of them. In fact, even if you work all day, your efforts won't make any difference at all."

The old man listened calmly and then bent down to pick
up another starfish and throw it into the sea. "It made a difference to that one.".

I guess this is summed up for me best by the song that Joni Mitchell wrote, Woodstock, which you will find below. It was more my mother's generation the A Bomb and the 1960s Love Movement. Perhaps there was so much hate and love in this era, there is something we can learn from this period of time.

I think we all need to get back to nature and maybe saving animals and treating people with love is my way to love the planet to get us back to the garden.

Woodstock

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knygIbt2D-8

I came upon a child of god
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, where are you going.

And this he told me
Im going on down to Yasgurs farm
Im going to join in a rock n roll band

Im going to camp out on the land
Im going to try an get my soul free
We are stardust
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

Then can I walk beside you
I have come here to lose the smog
And I feel to be a cog in something turning

Well maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe its the time of man
I dont know who l am
But you know life is for learning
We are stardust
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

By the time we got to woodstock
We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the bombers
Riding shotgun in the sky
And they were turning into butterflies
Above our nation

We are stardust
Billion year old carbon
We are golden
Caught in the devils bargain
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

It was actually refreshing to hear Bill Maher talk about the abortion issue. His point was more covering late term abortion, at some point it is a baby and not only a fetus.

If you need further evidence of this I suggest you visit the maternity ward at your local hospital and view a 29 week gestational pregnacy that has produced a premature baby.

A friend of mine had a 29 week baby, which is just barely into the third trimester. The baby was the size of a GI Joe doll. He was being sustained by life support, but his eyes tracked light and he followed the sound of his mother's voice when we visited him in the nursery two days after his birth. From my standpoint, it would be murder to abort a child at this stage of a pregnancy.

Like Bill Maher, my thought is when it is just a few cells then it would be okay in the instance of rape or incest to perform an abortion. Abortion should not be used a form of birth contol. hat is wrong, people need to be responsible. It is pro choice until a certain point, and then it is murder.

Clydene,

I prefer Circle Game, or any song on Ladies of the Canyon, but I slo like this one:

Imperial Zeppelin

Pack your bags, we're leaving
earth, where hate is seething,
nothing's worth believing.
There's no time, make up your mind!
Imperial Zeppelin....

Quick, the engines are turning,
cabin lights are burning,
now there's no returning.
We'll have love a mile above...
Imperial Zeppelin, Imperial Zeppelin, Imperial Zeppelin!

We, the undersigned, being of sound mind,
hereby do declare:
'We henceforth pledge ourselves unto the power
of the Upper Air.'

Doesn't that sound simply super,
Zeppelin visions of the future?
Of course we all know very well
it wouldn't work, but what the hell -
every dice deserves a throw,
and when we get back home below
we can say we had a go!

Overboard we are throwing
seeds of love we are sowing,
hope to God they're growing.
Flying high across the sky:
Imperial Zeppelin!

We will try to do some good,
I don't know why we really should,
I only wish that we could!
Down below they'll see and know all about
Imperial Zeppelin, Imperial Zeppelin, Imperial Zeppelin!

SaveOurselves said...

I also like this one, so much more energy:

Forsaken Gardens

Where are all the joys of yesterday?
Where, now, is the happiness and laughter that we shared?
Gone, like our childhood dreams, aspirations and beliefs;
time is a thief, and he ravages our gardens,
stripping saplings, felling trees,
trampling on our flowers, sucking sap and drying seeds.
In the midnight candle-light of experience
all colour fades, green fingers grey.

Time, alone, shall murder all the flowers,
still, there's time to share our plots and all that we call 'ours'.
How much worse, then, if we all deny each others' needs
and keep our gardens privately?

Its getting colder, wind and rain leave gashes;
looking back, I only see the friends I've lost.
Fires smoulder, raking through the ashes
my hands are dirty, my mind is numb,
I count the cost of 'I':
"I need to get on, I've got to tend my garden;
got to shut you out, no time to crave your pardon now".

Now I see the garden that I've grown is
just the same as those outside;
the fences that, erected to protect, simply divide....
There's ruination everywhere,
the weather has played havoc with the grass...
does anyone believe his garden's really going to last?
In the time allotted us, can any man keep miserly his own?
Is there any pleasure in a solitary growth?

Come and see my garden if you wil,
I'd like someone to see it all before each root is killed.
Surely now its time to open up each life to all,
tear down the walls, if it's not too late!

There is so much sorrow in the world,
there is so much emptiness and heartbreak and pain.
Somewhere on the road we have all taken a wrong turn...
how can we build the right path again?

Through the grief, through the pain,
our flowers need each other's rain....

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It can be overwhelming at times to see what is going on in the world and know that we cannot fix everything that needs to be fixed.

"There is so much sorrow in the world, there is so much emptiness and heartbreak and pain.
Somewhere on the road we have all taken a wrong turn...
how can we build the right path again?"

The question is how we will all treat November 5th. What will happen, can we make a difference on this planet by our actions. Can we step up to the plate and start batting out of the park. Can we use our pain to make the world a better place.

The job of the person who wins on November 4th will be filled with the daughtening task of fixing huge problems for the next several years. But it isn't just up to them, we as Americans need to find something positive to do in our community or where ever you can make a difference.

At least you can take a walk with your Great Pyrenees and take pictures of the nature were you live and share them on the internet with others who don't have a chance to see the beauty of the nature around you; or find a community group that needs help.

My former boss, a physician, and his wife went to work at Habitat for Humanity and built houses for those who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina. It would have been much self-serving for them to spend the time laying on the beach working on their tans, but they decided to make difference.

As someone once said, the decision is yours.

Justyn: Obama has a proven record of socialistic, leftist-leaning, Marxist policies.
He removed the American flag from his campaign jet and replaced it with his personal logo.
Obama's political career was launched in the living room of a known anti-American terrorist, William Ayers and his wife,
Bernadine Dorhn (who was on FBI's most wanted list) for seditious activity. After 9/11 Ayers said he did not do enough bombing and intimated he was happy this horrendous event occurred.
Obama's wife, Michelle, recently said on national TV she was finally proud of her country (because her husband won the presidential primary).
Obama and his wife have attended for 20 years the "church" of "Reverend" Jeramiah Wright, who said "Not God bless America, G-d damn America".
Obama was a community organizer in Chicago and used the Marxist handbook of Saul Alinsky as his guide in organizing the ignorant masses, including ACORN, now under FBI investigation in 11 states for voter registration fraud; ie, registering Micky Mouse in Flordia, the starting line-up of the Dallas (Texas) Cowboy football team in Nevada. He also represented ACORN in civil lawsuits brought against them.
As state senator of Illinois in the 90's, he, using partial federal funds, built low-income
housing which has now been condemned due to shoddy construction and no maintenance.
Obama has refused to release his school records from Harvard, lending credence that his education was funded by a Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour, financial advisor to Saudi royalty. He recently was forced to reveal a copy of his birth certificate, which he originally refused to do, and the document was purported to have been doctored to show he was born in Hawaii instead of Kenya, the birth land of his Muslim father.
Both Mrs. Clinton and Sen. McCain released all of their records, as they have nothing to hide. What is Obama hiding?

Obama is resoundingly endorsed by Louis Farrakhan, Supreme Leader of the Nation of Islam, Moammer Qadafi,Libyan Dictator; Hamas, the arm of Al-Qaida in Lebanon; Soros, the leftist multi-billinaire who was quoted as saying he owns the Democratic Party because he bought and paid for it; his cousin in Kenya, Raila Ondinga, is a murderous butcher, yet Obama can be seen on youtube stumping for Ondinga's "election" as president of Kenya.
We've all seen the youtube video wherein Obama refused to place his hand over his heart during the playing of the American National Anthem.
Obama has consistently voted aye for late-term, born alive abortion. This is out and out murder, and may God have mercy on his soul
What more proof do thinking American people need to know that he is being backed by political forces not conducive for the good of the American people.
The foregoing facts were gleaned from various sources on the Internet.

Unfortunately, the Democratic Party today has been infiltrated by those who wish to bring America to it's feet and destroy her and the freedom and liberties we now take for granted. It is not the Party of true Americans such as Harry Truman.
The masses have been blinded by their hatred of President Bush whose presidency has been the most difficult in modern history due to 9/11. I applaud Mr. Bush for doing every thing in his power to keep America and Americans safe while acknowledging that he has made blunders. There was no road map or manual on what to do after 1000's of Americans were murdered on American soil.
Obama is the darling of the leftist media, and if Senator McCain had the background Sen. Obama has, he would have been crucified long ago. The mainstream media refuses to shine the light of truth on Obama.
The Bolsheviks in Russia wanted change so they murdered the czars and ended up with one of the most brutal dictators in history, Josef Stalin.
The Cubans wanted change and they got Castro.
Obama wants us to believe he will bring "change we can believe in". Who is we? What kind of change?
Obama wants to penalize success in this country by taxing success thus perpetuating handouts; he wants to buy votes by claiming everybody will get $1000 if they vote for him. Where is this money going to come from?
After 143 days as a US Senator he thinks he is ready to lead the greatest nation on earth, and be the Commander-in-Chief of our beloved Armed Forces.

Never, ever in my lifetime would I have believed that someone with this anti-American baggage and lack of experience could even be considered a presidential nominee.
Has greed for power gone above and beyond logical thinking? If Obama is the best ANY party can do as their standard bearer we are in grave danger.

Unless we have in place the basic values this great country was built upon, we will have nothing.
I sincerely believe Obama does not possess these basic values.

Therefore, I early voted for Senator John McCain. At least I know he is a patriotic American with the best interests of this country in his heart.

Couldn't agree with you more, Clydene. If all goes as planned, after student teaching ends in April, I'll find a job and then have summers to help elsewhere. I grew up in New Orleans, and the challenges Bobby Jindahl and his fellow politicians have are huge. If the levies aren't able to withstand the next storm, all the work your friends and others are doing could be wasted, so I hope they don't delay. I see a great many hurdles we can overcome, but if we cannot get corruption out of politics, the intentions of the public are severely limited. It does start with us, though, and the mindset of Americans has to change. If the candidate who loses the election cannot get his party to call off the dogs, the hunt will go on; both sides have done the same thing for years. Instead of working together, the focus has been to keep the other from getting what they want accomplished, get power back, and expect the cycle to be broken. We need to end the revenge cycle, and if the politicians won't, then we have to remove their ability to affect the situation. 225 years is a very short time to have been a country, and already we are on the verge of collapse, just what many countries would liek to see. Bloggers who take advantage of this idea claim all sorts of bogus reasons, but our detractors see our short lifespan, see it just like a child attempting to educate the adult. Every country may not want the same kind of government we have (I wonder why???), and we are always saying we are the greatest country in the world, and our people are the hardest working, etc. Arrogance speaks volumes, and if we just did more rather than running our mouths all the time, we'd have more friends. Not all enemies would disappear, but we'd get more support. Modern convenience has made us too fat and lazy, and so many want to sit in a chair, push a button and make cash. That's not living, at least not the way I see it. I liken my belief to the blind piano player. What beautiful music can come from a person who cannot see the audience, just plays for the joy of playing and hopes everyone else will enjoy. If we couldn't see how black or brown our skin was, how fat or thin our bodies were, we would have so much less to poison our hearts. Opponents will call me liberal, bleeding heart, dreamer, and we cannot cut out our eyes. It is a dream, but it causes me to keep an open mind when I meet someone and look for the best before assuming the worst. Here on the blog, it's simply react to what is said, and although I may be misinterpreting what some are saying, I don't think I'm that naive after all these years. I've seen and heard just about every kind of individual, and the buzz words are not hard to identify in context.

Genie, you're wating your fingers. I couldbe wrong, but it sounds as if you believe all history is doomed to repeat itself. It doesn't have to be that way. The people have the power to change things, and even if you don't have faith in the common man, you shouldn't take the stance that failure is a certainty. If you don't want the new change to work, it won't, at least for you. IF it does, and you deny it has or make up alternative reasons for why it has, you only delude yourself. We have to stand behind our leaders, and if they are blinding us, we have to move around them. Don't be an agent of destruction, just don't stay the way you are because you're angry you haven't been heard. I need to do a lot of joining with people I probably don't agree with, and I have to get better at diplomacy. I've stepped on a lot of feelings here in this blog since I entered, but it's my desire to change that sort of tact. You'd be wise to do the same. Open your mind a bit. Not everything you hear and see on the TV and internet is fact. We have to make our history something to be proud of, and time may be running out, God or no God. Only the heart can make you act in a way that is caring and compassionate. I acknoweldge my wrongs, and I don't want to continue making mistakes. It's taken many years of my life to change just enough to see light at the end of the tunnel. I just want others I influence to see it doesn't have to take that long, not an easy thing to do, but what else can I set my sights on?

mike m said...

Clydene,

I understand what you're saying but, we have to realize that different people love different things for different reasons. Some people love money. Others love themselves. Some love war and some just love to hate. Some love the idea of hope because they have nothing else to love. Love is not always a positive emotion. I know people who love drugs more than their own children, and it drives them to the brink of insanity.

Please, don't ever change. But do keep these things in mind. For it is logic that separates us from the apes. And even love, however well intentioned, must be tempered with logic. Don't just tell me you love something. Tell me why you love it, and why I should love it. Then you will be as formidable as the ocean crashing on the shore.

It is funny you should bring up the title of the movie; Love Is A Many Splendored Thing, which is the romance between a half caste Chinese/English woman and married American reporter. I was just thinking about this film today because I am 1/2 Chinese and other things. It was something my parents made us watch on TV when we were growing up, so we could understand what they experienced. Under current to the love theme of the film is the racisim of the Chinese people against foreigners, and the British against the Chinese. But it is truly a love story where the two main characters did try to overcome the adversity of racisim.

"There is nothing stronger in the world than gentleness."

Love is a relative term that we can use to describe a human condition of bliss. There is Agape Love, emotional love, physical love, spiritual love, and sexual love to describe a few.

In life I think we are all seeking love to fill a void in ourselves, the feeling of joy and happiness in the heart where we feel full. There are people who do not need the love of others and prefer to live alone, and there are others that need someone desperately, so desperately that they cause love to flee them.

What would make a parent love drugs over their children? There are people with addictive behaviors where at some point they found that drugs filled the void it is a learned behavior as are all addictions.

I have no delusions that there are people who don't love or use love as a weapon, but if we can approach life from a condition of love rather than hate maybe we can make the world a better place.

My concern is that everyone needs to work together, and especially after November 4th, we as a nation need to come together.

I'm glad to hear you voted for McCain. Seriously. I'm glad you didn't let me or anybody else dissuade you from what you felt was the right thing to do. But, that's not going to stop me razzing you some more.

Apparently, you were able to vote early. That was convenient and easier, right? So tell me, was it liberals or conservatives that pushed that legislation through in your state? Yes that's right, liberals do come up with some good ideas from time to time. Remember that.

As far as voting for a true American patriot. Would it have been as easy to vote for McCain if he were running against Wesley Clark? You know, the guy that led an invasion force into an enemy occupied country without a single American casualty? I'd put a supreme allied commander over a POW fighter pilot who never had his own command, any day.

But don't worry. I'm sure Wes Clark is at the top of Obama's list for Sec. of Defense. I hope that helps you to sleep at night when he's elected. You see, you're more concerned with incidental contacts of Obama's rather than his actual advisers.

I think Obama's going to use the Clinton approach to filling appointments. That is to go after the best and the brightest. Unlike the "W" approach. Which was party loyalist "yes" men.

John McCain became a party loyalist "yes" man when he started supporting Bush policies, and chose Sarah Palin instead of Joe Lieberman.

But I think you're right to a degree. Obama does carry some baggage, and his lack of experience is a concern. But the alternative is too much like what we have now.

Justyn: That's a good question.
Let me say that first, the liberal-leaning main stream media refuses to shine a light on Obama and his activities and associations. Second, their hatred of President Bush has blinded them to the facts. These are facts I have researched on the Internet because no one really knows enough about Obama and his background. Who is he? How has his rise to power become so meteoric? How did he raise $156 million in one month? I don't think it's coming from poor people but rather from overseas, and not Americans living abroad.
Third, you may want to verify all of these facts by googling: Jeremiah Wright; Louis Farrakhan; ACORN; William Ayers; Berndaine Dorhn; Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour; Hamas endorsement of Obama; Grove Parc Plaza; Obama birth certificate, school records, stance on abortion, congressional experience/votes,refusal to release personal documents, including school financial records; Antoin "Tony" Rezko; Raila Ondinga (Obama's cousin); Michele Obama; Obama's campaign jet, etc.
Fourth, go to youtube.com and watch the videos and listen to what these people say. Then and only then can you make an informed decision.
Obama wants to "spread the wealth" and preaches "change we can believe in. These are words from his own mouth.
By "spreading the wealth" he wants to raise taxes and penalize those people who have worked hard to become successful.
"Change we can believe in" - what are the changes he wants to make (besides raising taxes, ending funds for our Armed Services, and talking to America's enemies without preconditions). Who are the "we" he is talking about? Is he only speaking to the masses who depend on government handouts?
Yes, most of us have needed a helping hand from the government to improve our lot, but not to expect the government to support generations of people who have not worked nor strived for betterment.
Obama is saying things that appeal to the masses and those who want to be cajoled. Unfortunately, these are naive people who cannot take the time to check out facts.
Obama wants to be the Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces, but for the life of me I cannot see how he can get a security clearance because of his close ties to anti-American entities.
Please, Justyn, it is vital that you, and others from whom the truth has been denied, look into Obama's past before casting your important vote for President of the United States.
The Democratic Party of today is not the same Democratic Party that gave us the late, great President Harry Truman.

Please blog me if you need more information, as I subscribe to both Democratic and Republican newsletters, as well as those from foreign countries so I can be aware of every thing.
This morning I rec'd a newsletter from The Palestinian Watch stating Palestinians, openly hostile to America for it's support of Israel, are using Internet phone connections to call people asking them to vote for Barack Obama.
If you like, I can copy/paste it and post it on this blog so you can see for yourself. On second thought, I must just do that.

Bulletin

PA Daily:

Palestinians campaigning for Obama
By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook

PA daily reports that Gaza residents are randomly calling American homes trying to convince Americans to support Barack Obama for president.

The following is the story in the PA daily:

"23 year old [Palestinian] Ibrahim Abu Jayyab sits by the computer in the Nusairat refugee camp [in the Gaza Strip] trying to call American citizens, in order to convince them to vote for the Democratic candidate for president, Barack Obama...

Most of the Palestinians feel hatred towards USA, whose administrations have always stood by Israel...

Abu Jayyab's idea is to make telephone calls to American citizens through Internet sites that allow making free calls... in order to use them [to make phone calls] for the campaign supporting Obama. Abu Jayyab says: We dial random numbers and try to call people without knowing their identity or their affiliation...

He said that a large number of Palestinians dislike their activity... [those] who do not see any difference between the American politicians, because of the hostility that they feel towards America. But his hope is that their activity will have some impact [in support of Obama]."

[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 26, 2008]

Barack Obama's handlers continue to support forces fiercely dedicated to bringing down America. Why don't you all just move the hell out of this country and take Obama and Michele with you.

Does this answer in part where the $156M he raised in September is coming from? American gasoline dollars paid to hypocritical Wahabbiist Saudi Arabia.

Pray tell, what has Obama commanded? ACORN.
Obama can't even get a security clearance because of his known ties to anti-Americans/terrorists. Never mind, though, his Marxist money men own the Democratic Party because they bought it and paid for it and if you don't believe it, just ask Soros.
For your edification, Texas is a Republican State and that's where I early voted 'cause that's where I live.
Why don't you join Micky Mouse in Florida and vote for Obama there, and then you can go to Nevada and vote with the Dallas Cowboys offensive line. No matter what state you live in, ACORN will accommodate

Halloween Palin Prop Sparks Controversy In WeHo
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) ― A Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home is drawing giggles from some passers-by and gasps of outrage from others.

The mannequin is dressed in brunet wig, glasses and a red business suit. Another mannequin dressed as John McCain emerges from a flaming chimney.

Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, told CBS 2 News that drivers and bus passengers have been stopping to snap pictures of the macabre scene.

Morisette says the effigy would be out of bounds at any other time of year, but it's within the spirit of Halloween.

He says "it should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It's Halloween, it's time to be scary it's time to be spooky."

http://cbs2.com/local/Sarah.Palin.mannequin.2.849299.html

Now, let me ask you. If this were reversed and Obama was hanging?

What do you think would happen? And everyone on the left calls the Right Mean and hateful?

mike m: Straight from The African Press:

So: who is Raila Odinga that Senator Obama would expend his political capital and risk the goodwill of half the population of Kenya?
Their relationship is unclear. The BBC initially reported that Obama and Odinga were first cousins.(“Odinga Says Obama is His Cousin” 1/8/2008) The Obama campaign has since denied a familial relationship. Raila Odinga’s father Oginga Odinga was leader of the “Kenya People’s Union” and perceived as a “committed socialist” (“Oginga Odinga: Kenya’s Most Persecuted Politician” Kenya: Key Issues 8/21.2002). Odinga Sr. was also the political ally of fellow Luo; Barack Obama Sr.(The Risks of Knowledge (Ohio University Press, 2004) p. 182)

What we do know about Odinga is not good. A former Minister of Energy, Odinga is reported to have been set up in the oil business by the al Bakri Group and Muammar Quaddafi (“How Rich is Raila-The ODM Kenya Presidential Aspirant?” African Press 4/26/2007) Abdel Qader Bakri (or- Abdulkader al Bakri) was listed on the infamous “Golden Chain”–an internal Al-Queda list of wealthy Saudi financial sponsors seized by Bosnian police in a Islamic “charity” raid in 2001. (“Terrorist Financing Staff Monograph 9/11 Commission and “The Golden Chain”) According to his website, Odinga was educated in Communist East Germany, (Herder Institute, Leipzig & Otto von Guericke Tech. Institute, Magdeburg) (http://www.raila07.com) Odinga’s eldest son is named “Fidel” (http://www.raila07.com)

Perhaps most troubling is Odinga’s links to Islamic extremists in Kenya. According to Voice of America and the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, on 8/29/07, Odinga signed a secret agreement (exposed 11/27) with Sheikh Abdullah Abdi of the National Muslim

Leaders Forum (NAMLEF) in which he agreed to institute Islamic law in exchange for Abdi’s support (eakenya.org)–thereby potentially disenfranchising and curtailing the liberties of millions of Christian Kenyan women. Further, he promised that Muslims suspected of terrorism would be safe from extradition—thereby establishing a ‘safe haven’ for terrorists in Kenya.

After the public outcry, Odinga denied signing a secret agreement. Angry at Odinga’s apparent repudiation, a member of NAMLEF subsequently released the agreement to the press. Odinga then claimed the document was a forgery, but acknowledged a secret agreement had been signed in exchange for Muslim support. Finally, under constant pressure, Odinga released what he claimed was the actual document (“Real” MOU) a considerably watered down version of the original; but still anathema to many Christian groups. “In response to the revelations, The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya released a statement in which church leaders said Raila, in both MOUs, ‘comes across as a presumptive Muslim president bent on forcing Islamic law, religion and culture down the throats of the Kenyan people in total disregard of the Constitutionally guaranteed rights of freedom of worship and equal protection of the law’” (“Concerns Raised Over Alleged Vow To Enforce Islamic Law in Kenya” Christian Post 12/18/2007) To many westerners, the idea of imposing Sharia in a predominantly Christian country may have seemed fanciful. However, Kenya has had Sharia courts for family law (not criminal law)—called Khadi courts—since 1963.

For the US and “the war on terror”—the most worrisome section.
Google it for yourself.

Hot off the Press News from google. Incredible!

Secret Service Sent By Obama Campaign Questions Mother of Three

Roger Hedgecock, former San Diego mayor and radio personality sheds some light on the beginning of the end of freedom as we know it. You MUST read this!
"Jessica Hughes of Lufkin, Texas, former Marine, mother of three, answered her cell phone in the car, coming home from the emergency room. Her 9-year-old had suffered a mild concussion, but was OK. The caller was a female Obama volunteer who asked if Jessica would support Obama for president. Jessica replied, "No, I don't support him. Your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the state Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time." Then Jessica hung up. The next day, a man and a woman in suits showed up at the door of her home, identifying themselves as members of the Secret Service. The Secret Service agents stated that the Obama campaign had complained of a death threat. They had quoted Jessica as saying, "I will never support Obama, and he will wind up dead on a hospital floor." Jessica's husband had heard Jessica's side of the original phone call and verified the actual quote. To which the female agent replied, "Oh? Well why would she (the Obama volunteer) make that up?"

Jessica replied that the Obama volunteer was probably unhappy about what Jessica had said about her candidate. The female agent then said "That's right, you were rude!" The male agent then displayed a file with Jessica's full name prominently printed on it and asked her how she felt about Obama. At this point, the former Marine told the agent "in no uncertain terms" (as she later recounted) that this was America and that the last time she checked, she was allowed to think whatever she wanted without being questioned by the Secret Service. And was being "rude" a federal crime now too? The agents then admitted they had no tape of the conversation, just the quote from the Obama campaign. Responding to Jessica's questions, the agents would not identify themselves by name, nor reveal the name of the Obama volunteer who had made the complaint. The agents did indicate that Jessica was not in a court of law yet, and that they were trying to not embarrass her "by going to all her family and neighbors."

To these implied threats, Jessica invited the agents to speak to whomever they wanted, and stated she would happily go to court since she had done nothing wrong. Jessica asked the agents, "Look, someone calls me unsolicited on my cell phone to ask me to support their candidate, and I can't tell them why I don't?"

The Secret Service left Jessica that day, but she could not get the "visit" out of her mind."

If this doesn't get a fire burning in your chest, then nothing will! This is the beginning of the end for the freedoms we all know and love. First they will come for the freedom of speech! The liberals in congress are already trying to censor talk radio and shut down any who oppose their radical programs! Think about it, you can't even say what you want to anymore in this politically correct environment that THEY have created. They will use what is "proper" and "correct" to strip you of your right to free speech.

Next they will come for your guns! They will strip of the only way to defend your self in the name of "safety" and "order". Oddly enough, Mr. Obama was against the right to defend your home in the Washington, DC Heller case. The court ruling made it abundantly clear that laws which ban the possession of firearms, or make it simply impossible through regulation for citizens to exercise their right to keep and bear arms, are unconstitutional and cannot stand.
Could this ever happen? Could the charismatic speech of a "leader" pull the wool over your eyes and introduce the U.S. to a loss of liberty beyond our imagination? It can happen to you and as history repeats itself it is already happening!

In today's world, you can't even say you aren't voting for Mr. Obama without having a visit from the Secret Service. You are branded as stupid, racist, warmongering if you even THINK of disagreeing with the left. That is censorship and the loss of freedom a change planted with seeds of Liberalism and Obama is the charismatic leader that is heralding that change!

Do not buy the lies, DO NOT STAND BY and watch as your freedoms are taken away!

We MUST continue to get the word out about Mr Obama's lack of courage, leadership and common sense. His ties to terrorists like William Ayers, a man who once said, "Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at" are appalling. A man who doesn't regret bombing the Pentagon and who almost single-handedly launched Barack O-bomb-'s political career.

The major media have already decided who their candidate is! MSNBC host Chris Matthews says Barack Obama makes a "thrill" go up his leg when he hears him speak and NBC runs vulgar ads about John McCain.

You can say, WE the American people will pick our president.

I think what SaveOurselves posted was VERY FUNNY, but perhaps you were expecting the Spanish Inqusition!

The Spanish Inquisition
by Monty Python

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the early years of the 16th century, to combat the rising tide of religious unorthodoxy, the Pope gave Cardinal Ximinez of Spain leave to move without let or hindrance throughout the land, in a reign of violence, terror and torture that makes a smashing film. This was the Spanish Inquisition...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(this transcript is also available with screen shots from the original)
Chapman: Trouble at mill.
Cleveland: Oh no - what kind of trouble?
Chapman: One on't cross beams gone owt askew on treadle.
Cleveland: Pardon?
Chapman: One on't cross beams gone owt askew on treadle.
Cleveland: I don't understand what you're saying.
Chapman: [slightly irritatedly and with exaggeratedly clear accent] One of the cross beams has gone out askew on the treadle.
Cleveland: Well what on earth does that mean?
Chapman: *I* don't know - Mr Wentworth just told me to come in here and say that there was trouble at the mill, that's all - I didn't expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition.

[JARRING CHORD]

[The door flies open and Cardinal Ximinez of Spain [Palin] enters, flanked by two junior cardinals. Cardinal Biggles [Jones] has goggles pushed over his forehead. Cardinal Fang [Gilliam] is just Cardinal Fang]

Ximinez: NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

[The Inquisition exits]

Chapman: I didn't expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition.

[JARRING CHORD]

[The cardinals burst in]

Ximinez: NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!
[To Cardinal Biggles] I can't say it - you'll have to say it.
Biggles: What?
Ximinez: You'll have to say the bit about 'Our chief weapons are ...'
Biggles: [rather horrified]: I couldn't do that...

[Ximinez bundles the cardinals outside again]

Chapman: I didn't expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition.

[JARRING CHORD]

[The cardinals enter]

Biggles: Er.... Nobody...um....
Ximinez: Expects...
Biggles: Expects... Nobody expects the...um...the Spanish...um...
Ximinez: Inquisition.
Biggles: I know, I know! Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. In fact, those who do expect -
Ximinez: Our chief weapons are...
Biggles: Our chief weapons are...um...er...
Ximinez: Surprise...
Biggles: Surprise and --
Ximinez: Okay, stop. Stop. Stop there - stop there. Stop. Phew! Ah! ... our chief weapons are surprise...blah blah blah. Cardinal, read the charges.
Fang: You are hereby charged that you did on diverse dates commit heresy against the Holy Church. 'My old man said follow the--'
Biggles: That's enough.
[To Cleveland] Now, how do you plead?
Clevelnd: We're innocent.
Ximinez: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

[DIABOLICAL LAUGHTER]

Biggles: We'll soon change your mind about that!

[DIABOLICAL ACTING]

Ximinez: Fear, surprise, and a most ruthless-- [controls himself with a supreme effort] Ooooh! Now, Cardinal -- the rack!

[Biggles produces a plastic-coated dish-drying rack. Ximinez looks at it and clenches his teeth in an effort not to lose control. He hums heavily to cover his anger]

Ximinez: You....Right! Tie her down.

[Fang and Biggles make a pathetic attempt to tie her on to the drying rack]

Ximinez:Right! How do you plead?
Clevelnd: Innocent.
Ximinez: Ha! Right! Cardinal, give the rack [oh dear] give the rack a turn.

[Biggles stands their awkwardly and shrugs his shoulders]

Biggles: I....
Ximinez: [gritting his teeth] I *know*, I know you can't. I didn't want to say anything. I just wanted to try and ignore your crass mistake.
Biggles: I...
Ximinez: It makes it all seem so stupid.
Biggles: Shall I...?
Ximinez: No, just pretend for God's sake. Ha! Ha! Ha!

[Biggles turns an imaginary handle on the side of the dish-rack]

[Cut to them torturing a dear old lady, Marjorie Wilde]

Ximinez: Now, old woman -- you are accused of heresy on three counts -- heresy by thought, heresy by word, heresy by deed, and heresy by action -- *four* counts. Do you confess?
Wilde: I don't understand what I'm accused of.
Ximinez: Ha! Then we'll make you understand! Biggles! Fetch...THE CUSHIONS!

[JARRING CHORD]

[Biggles holds out two ordinary modern household cushions]

Biggles: Here they are, lord.
Ximinez: Now, old lady -- you have one last chance. Confess the heinous sin of heresy, reject the works of the ungodly -- *two* last chances. And you shall be free -- *three* last chances. You have three last chances, the nature of which I have divulged in my previous utterance.
Wilde: I don't know what you're talking about.
Ximinez: Right! If that's the way you want it -- Cardinal! Poke her with the soft cushions!

[Biggles carries out this rather pathetic torture]

Ximinez: Confess! Confess! Confess!
Biggles: It doesn't seem to be hurting her, lord.
Ximinez: Have you got all the stuffing up one end?
Biggles: Yes, lord.
Ximinez [angrily hurling away the cushions]: Hm! She is made of harder stuff! Cardinal Fang! Fetch...THE COMFY CHAIR!

[JARRING CHORD]

[Zoom into Fang's horrified face]

Fang [terrified]: The...Comfy Chair?

[Biggles pushes in a comfy chair -- a really plush one]

Ximinez: So you think you are strong because you can survive the soft cushions. Well, we shall see. Biggles! Put her in the Comfy Chair!

[They roughly push her into the Comfy Chair]

Ximinez [with a cruel leer]: Now -- you will stay in the Comfy Chair until lunch time, with only a cup of coffee at eleven. [aside, to Biggles] Is that really all it is?
Biggles: Yes, lord.
Ximinez: I see. I suppose we make it worse by shouting a lot, do we? Confess, woman. Confess! Confess! Confess! Confess
Biggles: I confess!
Ximinez: Not you!

clydene: Thank you, hon. I know what what's his name meant by Obama picking Wesley Clark for his cabinet.
You might be interested in the following:

Clark commanded Operation Allied Force in the Kosovo War during his term as the Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO from 1997 to 2000. Some of Clark's command decisions during the conflict, such as his statements at press briefings and his actions at Priština International Airport, were heavily criticized. At times, he had a difficult relationship with Secretary of Defense William Cohen and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Hugh Shelton, which led to rumors Clark was forced into retirement, though both he and the Department of Defense said his retirement was merely standard personnel movement.

WESLEY CLARK WAR CRIMINAL AND SUPPORTER OF TERRORISTS - This site is dedicated to exposing WESLEY CLARK as a MASS MURDERER and SUPPORTER OF TERRORISM. Within this site, you will find dozens of articles exposing Clark as a man who aided a Terrorist group with ties to Osama Bin Laden.

"And I'm very glad we've got the great team in office, men like Colin Powell, Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice... people I know very well - our president George W. Bush. We need them there." - Clark in remarks delivered at the Pulaski County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 11, 2001 [drudge]

--------

When at a forum in September, retired Gen. Hugh Shelton was asked if he would support retired Gen. Wesley Clark for president, Shelton, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, quickly took a drink of water. "That question makes me wish it were vodka," Shelton said. "I've known Wes for a long time. I will tell you the reason he came out of Europe early had to do with integrity and character issues, things that are very near and dear to my heart. I'm not going to say whether I'm a Republican or a Democrat. I'll just say Wes won't get my vote."

Which was bad enough, but on November 6, retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf appeared on CNBC's Capital Report, hosted by Gloria Borger and Alan Murray, who asked him what he thought of Clark. "I think the greatest condemnation against him . . . came from the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff when he was a NATO commander. I mean, he was fired as a NATO commander," Schwarzkopf replied, "and when Hugh Shelton said he was fired because of matters of character and integrity, that is a very, very damning statement, which says, `If that's the case, he's not the right man for president,' as far as I'm concerned."

The foregoing was stated when General Clark decided to run for the presidency.

So please, if your true agenda is to show how poorly educated the Right, and those voting for McClain/Palin, you are doing a GREAT JOB.

I have never read so many lies in my entire life as your postings.

wilber said...

Good grief clydene, can't you read or don't you know about the monkeys?

See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil. That has nothing to do with racism!

Oh, and I knew you would come out with your library total because you are smarter than the average bear boo boo!

SaveOurselves said...

LOL Clydene! Fun with Dick and Jane. I'm roaring!!!

SaveOurselves said...

Genie, I don't suppose you care much about your Republican friend Stevens, 7 counts of corruption. You just don't get it. Until the lot of them is replaced and made to know that they will pay if they abuse the system, nothing will change. If Obama does it, let's hang him. Whoever it is, regardless, we don't want them using their platforms to get over on the middle class and poor. It's just not acceptable. OK, post your lame comeback.

clydene said...

Wilber/Genie

You have equated me to being one of the monkeys. Yes, I know the story, but it is still insulting that you two/one use this way to make someone who is having a discussion with you into a lower life form. Again, your racism is so blatant and obvious for all to see.

You calling me a monkey will not change the fact that you have LIBELED Gen. Wesley Clark.

SaveOurselves said...

Wilber, WillBurr, WillBrrrrr. All we continue to do is read your evil; thank heavens we can't see or hear you. The impulse to vomit would be too much. Who in the hell is named Wilber anymore. Tell me that's what your older brother used to call you before he had you chew the trading cards.

wilber said...

Hey clydene, I didn't say it. Just pointing out who they were. You can call us racist, redneck or whatever you want because we know we are not those things.

And SaveOurselves, I think your post contain alot more evil than mine.

My, we be so sensitive!

I'm not getting the same results from Google either. I think you're being redirected to a bootlegged version of Google or something.

Here's what you need to do. First, check your internet settings.
If you don't see anything go to geekstogo.com. Download "hijack this" software. Run it. Post the results in their "hijack this" forum. They will tell you if anything is wrong and what to do. It's all free.

You need to stop downloading porn from those bit torrent websites. They got me real good.

Do you really think our constitution and system of government are so weak that one man could rob us of our freedoms in that way. What you're describing goes far beyond The Patriot Act.

Benjamin Franklin said, " Anyone willing to sacrifice freedom for security, deserves neither.

mike m said...

I'm sorry. I need to clarify. Bush and the republicans robbed us of freedoms with certain provision in The Patriot Act. They can easily be corrected. Anything that Obama might do, that you are suggesting, can also be easily undone. I'm so sick of this "neo" McCarthyism crap.

mike m said...

At one time I subscribed to both The National Review and The New Republic. I thought that maybe if I read both sides I could sift through all the bullshit and formulate opinions based on the probability of what the facts actually were. But how can you deduce the "real facts" when one side is telling you the human hand has four fingers, and the other is telling you six. Or see through the Karl Rove philosophy that if you say something enough times it becomes fact.

I've come to the conclusion that all these "news" sources care about is money. Distribution numbers, ratings, pay-per-click; it's all about advertising revenues. They tell people what they want to hear in order to boost they're ratings etc.

Nobody cares about or even knows what the real facts are anymore.

The only saving grace, at one time, was c-span. Does anybody even watch that anymore? I don't think I've read one quote from somebody who said something on the floor of the Congress on the record. Isn't that where the actual laws are created? Does anybody even know what their congressman is really doing? It is a matter of public record. That's where the real facts lie.

mike m said...

C-span is no longer relevant. Issues are not really debated on the floors of congress anymore, because they know the cameras are there. The speeches made are only self or party serving propaganda. All the real debates and deals go on behind closed doors. Far away from the cameras. Our government does not want us to know what's really going on because we "can't handle the truth". And we can't. Can we? This is supposed to be a government "by the people, for the people". Therefore, the people must know, and should demand to know, the truth. If we need to tap phone lines and emails of congressional members and their staffs, so be it. It worked with the Mafia. We found out real quick what they were really up to. And most importantly, DEMAND THAT MONEY BE TAKEN OUT OF POLITICS!!!!

We need to rise up and take back our government.

clydene: don't be so sensitive, I was using the see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil monkeys as a metaphor.
Touchy, touchy. I'm just the messenger and I stand by my facts.
As for perjury, I'm afraid you do not know what that is. I've been pulling your chain and expected such a reaction from some one who is led around by the nose.
You can only be accused of perjury when you lie UNDER OATH.
Again, I tell you I am not a liar, I'm trying to gently inform you of facts you are so void of and refuse to acknowledge.
It's because people do not use their God-given talent, the brain that separates us from our four-legged friends, that this country's going down the drain.
Put aside your bias and think, woman, think! Learn from sources other than those that stroke your feelings.

geniemaker said...

clydene: try this "libel" on:
For you poor misguided people who think that Obama is an American patriot:

McCain and Obama On Iraq’s Opposition
To Granting Amnesty To Terrorists

In 2006 the U.S. Senate debated an amendment, Vote 177, that commended the government of Iraq for affirming its position of not granting amnesty to terrorists who attack U.S. armed forces.

This occurred at a time when the situation in Iraq was bleak and terrorist activity high, in the year prior to the onset of the “surge” and the new counterinsurgency strategy successfully executed by General Petraeus.

For the Iraqi government, during this time, to affirm its position that terrorists who attack U.S. armed forces should not be granted amnesty, was a commendable act of courage by Iraqi leaders. This courage deserved our support.

John McCain voted FOR this amendment. Barack Obama voted AGAINST this amendment, as did his running mate, Joe Biden.

To verify go to "2006 U.S. Senate Vote Descriptions" and scroll down to No. 19.

mike: re cspan: Did you watch Nancy Pelosi turn off the lights in the House while the repubs were still debating the financial crisis?
It was time to close shop and go on vacation, and to blazes with crises in this country.
Democratic Party in action.

mike m said...

Please. I'll be the first to admit the dems need to get rid of Pelosi and Reid as leaders. Weak, weak, weak, sniveling crybabies. They are scared to death of Cheyney and his tactics. Remember what he did to Richard Clark and, shit, I can't remember his name. The guy that blew the whistle on the yellow cake uranium lie. Got his wife fired. Good job Dick. Protect your lies by destroying someone else's career.

Anyway, the deal was already made and the republicans were just grandstanding. Most of these congress people are lawyers. And, lawyers love to hear themselves talk.

What did Shakespeare say to do with all the lawyers?

mike m said...

Genie

As far as granting immunity to terrorists. What kind of deals did the Bush admin. make with al Sadr. Remember when they had him holed up in the mosque? Not only did they let him live, but they said something like, he can be bargained with in order to reduce the violence, something to that effect. How many American lives was he responsible for at that point? After that? They let him just walk away. God bless the USA. They should have blown the shit out of that mosque. It would have saved many American lives. But you can't define yourself as "good" unless you have a viable enemy that you can define as "evil". Hence "axis of evil".

As far as the surge working. That's only half true. The surge was supposed to quell the violence and provide a window of opportunity for the Iraqi government to get their shit together, and begin the transfer of security to Iraqi soldiers ans police. The window is closing. Troops must be withdrawn soon, or the Bush admin. will have to rewrite the laws regarding how long a soldier can serve in combat, again, or institute a draft.

We're fighting terrorism in Iraq, the way we fought communism in Vietnam. Very badly. And very expensively. We are creating more enemies than we are killing or capturing.

SaveOurselves said...

Mike M, the war in Iraq is almost won, and if we can get McCain elected, that from resolve to surge and solidify will prove effective. The brave soldiers who have given their lives in defense of America and it's cause for freedom and democracy for all will be won... Wait, late breaking news from some internet site......is it, no, could it be... Geniemaker.com? There for a minute, i thought I was he, disseminator of all truth that will save us from this drastic decision we've made to support the dreaded DEMOCRAT. More later when I find myself once again. For a minute there, Genie and Major Nelson thought they were getting to me.

November 5th Club

Having read all the postings here the one thing I see is that each of you has a gift. A gift to write or motivate; many of you are persistent and that is wonderful gift.

My challange to you, all of you, is to join me to start the November 5th Club. You need to find something to do with your talent.

You can make a change in the world by choosing to do something for good to improve the place you live or this planet.

Again we all may not agree how to travel this road to build a better America, but it isn't up to one person. We can all make a difference nad make this world a better place for everyone.

So on November 5th find a way and make that way work to build a positive place for us all to live.

SaveOurselves said...

Here, Here, Clydene! Get on with it, everyone! Accentuate the positive, and spread the love around. Learn to speak the language of love!!!

geniemaker said...

clydene: thank you for your post re November 5th.
Why wait until then?
I try to make each day a better one than the day before. Smile at an old person in the store, hold the door open for someone going in or out of a doctor's office, say an extra prayer for our troops, esp. those in danger. There are so many little things a person can do. Whether or not we believe in a Higher Power, we should always be thankful for what we have.

No, I will not stop calling Obama an elitist because that's what he is Maher. He thinks he is better than everyone else. As for saying Vietnam George Bush had an exit strategy. So did Clinton asshole. He never served at all.
Lastly, calling Sarah Plain a category 5 moron. You are a category 5 liberal jackass and asshole you no good piece of shit terrorist supporting liberal.

jmp said...

mike m,

Why is joe the plumber an idiot. He has every right to buy his boss' business if his boss choocses to sell like any other in this country. Just because you built your business from the ground means Joe the plumber can't buy a busniess. Go go to hell you SOB

jmp said...

mike m,

By the way Obama also got the endorsement from Bin Laden. I guess your brainless head missed that one. Very comforting to know the nominee for president gets the endorsement from an arch terrorist who murdered 3000 of your fellow countrymen or maybe you aren't an American afterall mike.

jmp said...

happy to disappoint you loudmouth mike, but electing Bush and Cheney was the best thing this country did when it comes to protect this country and and keeping our military strong, besides the tax cuts which gave me more money in my walley. Just admit dumbass. It was smart getting those two into office.

jmp said...

geniemaker, apparently Obama's IQ isn't too high and people who support him has to be even lower.

jmp said...

keep talking mike m,

The more you shoot your mouth off the more of a jackass you sound. I keep hearing from the far left how Sarah Plin is not qualified to be vice president for her lack of foreign policy experience. Please tell us, what foreign policy experience does Obama have. You won't answer that so I will. He has NONE. As for the troop surge not being successful as posted by another dumb liberal. It is solely responsible for the decsrease in violence and bringing stability to that country after 30 years of tyrannical rule from a brutal dictator

You are right mike, there are two types of people in this world. Libs like you who kiss ass with the likes of bin Laden and conservatives who care about this country and want to protect it and cut taxes.

You Go jmp!!!!

But get ready to be attacked. Take it from an expert!

Now, I have to go back into hiding before Bubba and whats-his-name find me!

To all you disgusting liberals out there backing this piece of crap Bill Maher, this is what he said about the terrorist on 9/11 as he defended the supposed bravery of the 9/11 terrorists by saying, "We have been the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly. Stupid maybe but not cowardly." So if yuo agree with this pile garbage, then you are as anti-American as he is. What a vile and disgraceful of an individual Maher is. As you noticed, I did not say human being because he is no human being. Maher go to hell you SOB.

jmp said...

Believe me Wilbur,

I do expect to be attacked tragically. I guess that means this socialist Obama will wnat to sit down and talk with Bin laden without preconditions like he would with Ahmadinajed. Do you libs have any brains, or were you just born stupid?

jmp said...

emily, you are the sad dude. You libs make absolutely no sense. Liberals never do. Apparently emily you never had any brain cells. That's why you are so an idiot with no IQ whatsoever.

By the way Wilbur, great post. Maybe that will shut Emily and the libs. I doubt. They fire nothing but hot air.

JMP, I thought you were just a lost repubican. Then I saw you talking to that typing rectum, WilBURRRR. What a load of shit! Bet you have a picture of Ann Coulter on your ceiling to masturbate by as you listen to her spank poor Alan Colmes Pipi on Fox/ Life in the Dark does have its perks, but without Extenze and Cialis, you'll have to keep perky in your hand. You're on the wrong blog, Loser!!!

jmp said...

geniemaker,
Liberals have never had any class and they never will. For you left wingers who support Obama's spread the wealth. I am in the process of getting a book published. I have written two others and am working on a fourth. Let's say for arguments sake that I make $250,000a year from the sales of these books. Does that give this socialist the right to tax me more so he can redistribute the wealth to other people. No, it does not.
I can to charities all the time and am happy to do so, but that is my s=choosing. It is not Obama's choosing, notr his right to take my money I earned and give to someone else without my authority. But as far as you damn liberals are cvoncerned, that is perfectly alright. I have an idea. Let's take some of that money Obama has raised during the primaries and this campaign and spread it around to other people. What the hell do you think he would say? He would protest against that from now until next Tuesday (no pun intended). But it would be okay for him to redistribute other people's money, but not his own.

jmp said...

Wilbur,
Maher knows anothing about anything. He knows nothing about foriegn policy. he knows about economics. He certainly doesn't know how to run a war. I don't either of course, but I am not going on public television being the wannabe expert on these matters.

SaveOurselves said...

Trust me, JMP, you aren't selling any books! First of all, you have to be able to write. Second, you're about as interesting as a dingleberry. Wait, Wilbur finds them interesting.
