Republicans, stop calling Obama elitist

Because the real reason you don't like him is that he's smarter than you.

Sept. 5, 2008 New Rule: Republicans need to stop saying Barack Obama is an elitist, or looks down on rural people, and just admit you don't like him because of something he can't help, something that's a result of the way he was born. Admit it, you're not voting for him because he's smarter than you.

In her acceptance speech, Gov. Sarah Palin accused Obama of using his run for the White House as a "journey of personal discovery" -- this from the lady who just spent 10 minutes of her speech introducing her family -- Track, Trig, Bristol, Piper -- for a minute there I thought she was calling in an airstrike.

Karl Rove described Obama as "the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini, and making snide comments about everyone who passes by." Unlike George Bush, who's the guy at the country club who makes snide comments, and then passes out. Now this characterization, of course, was something Mr. Rove just completely pulled out of his bulbous, gelatinous ass, but remember this is America, a land where people believe anything they hear. One of McCain's ads casts Obama as "the one," implying he thinks he's the Messiah. Good, maybe he can raise McCain from the dead.

It doesn't matter to Karl Rove that his country club characterization is fictitious, it's the role that Obama must play if the party of plutocrats is going to win over the little guy. Over and over at this convention we heard about the new put-upon victim in our society, the person in America, like Sarah Palin, who's constantly mocked because they're from a ... small town! Governor Yup Yup's got 'em all riled up about being disrespected.

Barack Obama can't help it if he's a magna cum laude Harvard grad and you're a Wal-Mart shopper who resurfaces driveways with your brother-in-law. Americans are so narcissistic that our candidates have to be just like us. That's why George Bush is president. And that's where the McCain camp gets its campaign strategy: Paint Obama as cocky and arrogant and wait for America to vote him off, like the black guy in every reality show. A black president? Half of Pennsylvania isn't ready for black quarterbacks. Forget Obama, they think Will Smith needs to be taken down a peg.

And finally: As for "country first," you know who's putting country first? I am, by supporting Obama, because a victory this fall for the McCain-Mooseburger ticket would make my job in the next four years very, very easy.

I pray I never see a liberal in when I go. I can't imagine heaven allows terrorist appeasors up there afterall terrorist murder innocent people. The libs don't seem to have a problem with that.
Because if they do, I sure haven't one post denouncing Mahers comments on the 9/11 terrorists.

First of all McCain wrote about it in his book. Secondly, my parents were friends with Admiral John S. McCain Jr and his wife Roberta, so JMP I probably know a lot more about him than you would ever know.

Oh, and by the way, Sen John S. McCain III, divorced his first wife who was disfigured in a car accident; So much for in Sickness and in Health. Even his children did not attend his wedding with Cindy McCain.

I am not talking about Clinton, I am talking about someone running as the Republican Presidential candidate courting the Christian Right.

Lump everyone democrat into your liberals never make any sense pot, stir, add your venom, and everything will come out tasty. I really want to love you, but "Weavah, You so Stupid!" The Audacity of Deception

If you are perplexed, even bewildered, by the number of Americans who normally make logical and rational decisions but now support Barack Obama, I refer you to a lucid explanation for this phenomenon in the opening pages of the candidate’s political autobiography, The Audacity of Hope. He writes, “I am new enough on the national political scene that I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views... I am bound to disappoint some... of them.”

Beyond the projection and deception, however, elections have consequences. Some of Obama’s supporters, the formerly logical and rational, will be first in the soup line of deceived disappointees expressing buyer’s remorse. They will awaken from the stupor of all the good feelings that attracted them to Obama and face the hard realities of the Socialist agenda they enabled.

In this, the final week of the ‘08 presidential campaign, Obama bought 30 minutes of prime time on several networks to air an infomercial in which he endeavored to pass as something other than the ideological Socialist he is. Feigning the fiscal conservatism of Ronald Reagan, Obama claimed he would review the budget, line by line, and cut waste. He even made taxing and spending, a.k.a. “the collectivist redistribution of wealth,” sound like a noble democratic gesture.

At one point he said, “Just because I want to spread the wealth around, they call me a socialist. The next thing you know, they will call me a communist because I shared my peanut butter sandwich in kindergarten!”

Cute. Of course, Barack Obama isn’t proposing to “share” his sandwich. Instead, he’s proposing to take your sandwich and share it with someone else. He’s assuming that you aren’t charitable enough to share it yourself.

Truth is, it is unlikely Obama ever shared a sandwich with anyone. With an average annual income of more than $500,000 between 2000 and 2006, Barack and Michelle only gave two percent—two percent—of their income to charity. Obama’s running mate is even more miserly. The Bidens’ income averaged $260,000 over the last 10 years, but they averaged just $650 a year in charitable giving.

So much for “spreading the wealth around.”

Meanwhile, Sen. John McCain centered his soapbox message on Obama’s penchant to redistribute wealth, even uttering the word “socialist” in several interviews—and not a minute too soon.

Of course, Socialist policies are now the centerpiece of the once great Democratic Party, packaged under the aegis of “fairness and equality” or “investments in our infrastructure and people.”

Obama uses code words such as “political and economic justice” and “coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change.” In the last two months, however, given the crisis of confidence in our economy, Obama’s Socialist rhetoric has become bolder. Perhaps he’s heeding the counsel of his mentors’ mentor, Karl Marx, who wrote, “A new revolution is possible only in consequence of a new crisis.”

The fingerprints of Obama’s radical Socialist mentors are all over his “vision for America” —from his early childhood tutor, Communist Party USA member Frank Marshall Davis, to his black radical spiritual advisor, Jeremiah Wright, to the benefactors who launched his political career, radical terrorists William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

These are the Leftists who fed Obama’s unmitigated narcissism and shaped his warped worldview, which he now seeks to inflict upon the entire nation. Even his campaign icon implies “Obama over America.”

Of course, when asked about his relationship with these radicals, Obama responds, “[These people] are not advisors or donors to my campaign,” at which point an adoring press corps dutifully moves on to the next question.

Despite having spent 20 years as a disciple of Wright, the man who officiated at Obama’s marriage and baptized his children, the man whom Obama describes as “a father figure,” he claims he never inhaled any of his spiritual mentor’s racial hatred—never even heard any of it.

Obama claims that Bill Ayers was “just a guy in my neighborhood,” and “I was just eight years old when he was a terrorist.” However, Obama was 34 when Ayers used his radical celebrity to launch Obama’s political career, and he was 40 when this unrepentant terrorist was featured in a New York Times article (on the morning of September 11, 2001) and quoted in the opening paragraph proclaiming, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.”

Ayers added, “America makes me want to puke.” Obama was working on his second major “philanthropic” project with Ayers at that time.

In addition, there are Obama’s ties to the Socialist New Party, the ACORN crowd, Father Michael Pfleger, Khalid al-Mansour, Kwame Kilpatrick, Louis Farrakhan, Tony Rezko, Rashid Khalidi, Raila Odinga and other haters, hard Leftists and convicted felons.

George Bernard Shaw once wrote, “A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.” All committed Socialists understand this principle.

For example, when Obama asserts, “We’ll ensure that economic justice is served—that’s what this election is about... I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody,” that is tantamount to buying votes.

Michelle Obama echoes her husband’s redistributionist philosophy: “The truth is, in order to get things like universal healthcare and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.”

In 1916, a minister and outspoken advocate for liberty, William J. H. Boetcker, published a pamphlet entitled The Ten Cannots . “You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they will not do for themselves.”

A century later, Democrats are utterly ignorant of these principles. In fact, Barack Obama’s campaign is built around their antithesis—“The Ten Cans.”

I was speaking with a friend recently, a man who lived most of his life under the Communist regime in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. He has spent several years and continues to incur many legal expenses in his endeavor to become a U.S. citizen, but he has since lost his enthusiasm.

“The prospect of an Obama presidency is like dèja vu for me,” he explained. “The socialist goal back home was that everyone had equal wealth. They met that goal—eventually no one had anything. Any attempt to work harder to achieve a better standard of living for your family was considered contrary to the welfare of the state, and dutifully discouraged. Socialism is a big hole, easy to fall into and hard to climb out of.”

He lamented, “The American dream is not something I want to wake up from—but too many Americans have no idea what they have, and are about to lose it. Socialism seems an appealing ideal, collective ownership, equal society, ‘sharing the wealth,’ et cetera. But it has a downside: It doesn’t work.”

Indeed it doesn’t work. It creates wards of the state—slaves, if you will.

In the 1980s, I spent enough time in Socialist countries, including the old USSR, to know that we want to avoid, at all costs, a USSA. If we could gather up all Americans who, knowingly or unknowingly, support collectivist policies like those espoused by Barack Obama and transport them to the old USSR for a week, they could see the terminus of such policies—the walking dead—and the wisest among them would rethink their support for statist concepts such as “sharing the wealth.”

It is no small irony that as the younger generations of former Communist countries around the world are moving rapidly toward liberty and free enterprise, our nation is moving rapidly toward Socialism and a tyranny of the few.

Barack Obama recently said, “I don’t find myself particularly scary or particularly risky.” It was a weak attempt at self-effacing humor, but make no mistake: Barack Hussein Obama’s Socialist policies are both scary and risky.

“Hope” and “change” may be pleasant catchall bromides, but as Benjamin Franklin wrote in Poor Richard’s Almanac, “He that lives upon Hope will die fasting.”

On change, John Adams wrote, “A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”

To that end, in 1787, the year our Constitution was adopted, Thomas Jefferson, wrote, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

Let’s not go there—yet.

Campaign watch: Fundraising shenanigans continue
The Obama campaign has shattered records by raising more than $600 million this election cycle, an effort that will certainly change the way future presidential candidates run their campaigns. Then again, Obama’s is not a shining example to emulate. A provision of federal election law that has been craftily exploited by the Obama campaign states that it is not necessary to collect vital information from donors who contribute $200 or less to a political campaign. The Obama campaign has bragged endlessly about how a large portion of its donations come from these low-dollar donors, average Americans who are supposedly so passionate about change that they are giving money to a political cause for the first time in their lives. New donors to the change train even include Doodad Pro, Saddam Hussein and Adolf Hitler. Obama’s campaign refuses to make public their low-dollar donor list, though rival John McCain has done so. If their practices are legal and ethical, why not prove it by releasing the questionable information?

The Obama campaign maintains that they are doing their best to alleviate problems with fraudulent donations, but, like most of his campaign, that too is a lie. Intrepid bloggers at Gateway Pundit have tested Obama’s donor site by submitting obviously fake names that any Address Verification System (AVS) would flag, but these donations invariably go through, and the fake donors receive heartfelt electronic thank-you messages from the Obama team. As Gateway Pundit pointed out, AVS is a fully automated system that any novice Webmaster could operate, yet the Obama technical team can’t seem to get its own working. Or, more likely, it has deliberately disabled the system (it’s not easily done by accident) in order to keep the money machine rolling. Donations are no doubt coming in over the legal individual limits, not to mention from foreign nationals.

Since the Leftmedia won’t report on the Obama fundraising machine’s widespread fraud, and the Federal Elections Commission won’t investigate the complaints filed by the Republican National Committee—at least not until it’s too late—the burden on bringing the issue to America’s attention has fallen to the blogosphere. Unfortunately, the Obama campaign has already cashed in on its thievery.

Biden doesn’t like tough questions
Democrat vice-presidential Candidate Joe Biden sat down for an interview with WFTV-Orlando news anchor Barbara West this week with the expectation of fielding some of the same softball questions he and running mate Barack Obama have grown so accustomed to getting from Leftmedia talkers. Instead, what Biden got was a dose of what “hardball” used to mean before MSNBC’s Chris Matthews diluted the term. West jumped right in with tough questions about Obama’s plan to “spread the wealth around” being Marxism, the campaign’s ties to ACORN, and Biden’s own comment that Obama will be tested by a foreign policy crisis within his first six months in office. Biden tried to laugh off the questions, falling back to the Democrats’ well-trodden script. West was not rattled, however, and pressed on.

As a result, the Obama campaign blackballed the Orlando station for engaging in the sort of old-fashioned investigative journalism that just won’t work if Obama is to be elected president. West and the station’s news director stand by their work, and, for the record, they didn’t give John McCain an easier time during his interview. (McCain began his interview by joking, “Now don’t say anything mean or I am going to be angry.”) The Ministry of Truth at Obama headquarters still claims that the station is part of the fabled right-wing conspiracy.

LA Times of Obama
Speaking of the Leftmedia, The Los Angeles Times is aiding the Obama campaign this week by refusing to release a 2003 video of then-Illinois state senator Obama at a farewell banquet for Rashid Khalidi, whom the Times calls “an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights.” Khalidi, also a former Palestine Liberation Organization spokesman, was leaving Chicago for New York. He had been a neighbor, friend and dinner guest of the Obamas in Chicago’s upscale and ultra-liberal Hyde Park neighborhood.

In April, the Times ran an article titled, “Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama.” It mentioned the banquet and the video, which the Times will not release—unless Obama loses Tuesday. One of many anti-Israel moments that voters might just be interested in hearing was a young Palestinian’s recitation of a poem accusing Israel of terrorism and criticizing the U.S. for allying with Israel. Obama has publicly declared his support for Israel, but many Palestinians think he’s really on their side based on things he has said in private. In light of his relationship with Khalidi, that’s a safe bet. No doubt the events of the evening would hurt Obama’s case, providing the Times more than enough cause to withhold the evidence.

John McCain, however, didn’t let the opportunity slip by, saying, “I’m not in the business of talking about media bias, but what if there was a tape with John McCain with a neo-Nazi outfit being held by some media outlet? I think the treatment of the issue would be slightly different.”

Meanwhile, the Obama campaign has ousted three major newspapers—The Washington Times, Dallas Morning News and The New York Post—from its campaign plane. What do all three have in common? They endorsed John McCain.



Court Jesters: Berg’s suit thrown out
Last Friday, Judge R. Barclay Surrick dismissed Philadelphia attorney Philip Berg’s lawsuit, which had challenged Barack Obama’s eligibility for the presidency. Berg contended Obama was born into his father’s Kenyan citizenship and thus was not a natural-born citizen of the United States, within the meaning of the Constitution’s Article II, section 1 requirement, and he requested full disclosure of pertinent documents by the Obama campaign.

The objectionable aspect of the court’s decision is not so much its result as its reasoning. Berg’s claim seems weak; even if Obama had been born abroad, he could still be a natural-born citizen based on his mother’s U.S. citizenship. (8 U.S. Code, sec. 1401.) But the dismissal rested not on the suit’s weakness but a citizen/voter’s lack of standing to object. The court found a citizen’s interest “too vague and its effects too attenuated to confer standing on any [voter].” In other words, although a citizen has standing to challenge the government any time she is “disturbed” by the sight of a public park accommodating a Christmas tree or a Boy Scouts picnic, no such standing exists where a voter objects to a man’s assuming the presidency of the United States in violation of the Constitution.

Other campaign tidbits
Several weeks ago we reported that Barack Obama’s half brother George is currently living in a hut in Kenya. This week, it was discovered that Obama’s beloved aunt Zeituni is living in a rundown public housing project in Boston. Obama has not shared his peanut butter sandwich with George or Zeituni yet.

In Hollywood, a homeowner displayed an effigy of Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin hung by a noose from his house for Halloween. The Secret Service determined there was no threat, and the homeowner later removed the display. At the University of Kentucky, however, a student and another man were arrested Thursday for hanging an effigy of Barack Obama from a tree on campus.

Another Obama crony on his way to the Big House
Government does not get much more corrupt than in Obama’s home state of Illinois. Democrat Governor Rod Blagojevich, a close ally of Obama, was elected on a promise to clean up the corruption, but how does one get rid of corruption when Democrats have control of the Illinois House, Senate and all but one statewide office?

Blagojevich is under investigation for a number of, shall we say, suspect campaign and business dealings. The most notable of these is Blagojevich’s close association with one Antonin “Tony” Rezko, who has been indicted for his part in a scheme to obtain kickbacks from the state. Blagojevich’s wife, Patricia, was a real estate business partner with Rezko for more than a decade. In Rezko’s trial, it was revealed that 75 percent of those who gave more than $25,000 to Blagojevich’s campaign received state contracts or appointments to state boards. Rezko was also indicted in January on charges of money laundering for an Iraqi billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, whom military analysts describe as one of Saddam’s bagmen.

Rezko’s fingerprints are all over Obama’s political campaigns. He was Obama’s Chicago fundraising patriarch, a “fixer.” Rezko and his bagmen donated more than $225,000 to Obama’s campaigns.

Rezko’s fingerprints also adorn Obama’s 2005 purchase of his swanky Georgian mansion on Chicago’s south side—right down the street from where Obama’s new neighbor, terrorist William Ayers, launched Obama’s political career. (We know, given Obama’s rhetoric, he must have lived in a government housing project and commuted by mass transit.) That mansion and the adjacent lot were originally one parcel, but the owner divided it into two, and the adjacent lot was purchased by Rezko for the full $625,000 asking price—far above market value. On the same day, Obama purchased his mansion on the first lot for well under market value. One might conclude that Rezko subsidized Obama’s discount with the purchase of the adjacent lot but Rezko conveniently holds a receipt for a “loan” from his Iraqi friend, Auchi.

(but then again, if we really believed everything the Leftmedia reported, Obama won the presidential race long ago).

The only item omitted in the foregoing article was Obama's consistent voting for late-term born-alive babies abortion.

He is truly a monster who has sold his soul to the devil.

Wilburt, the name alone scares me. Weren't you one of those guys in Deliverance who said, "You sure do have a perty mouth"? Genie, I'll bet you even remember which way Clinton's dick curved. And Bush hasn't lied, has he? As if four years of somone who cares even a little for those getting hosed by the rich will spell doom and the end of the American dream. Even eight, which would be a testimony to success, couldn't do all the damage your fearsome rhetoric implies. Finally, God won't have mercy on us all, and doesn't bless countries, unless of course, it's Israel. But they have nukes, so they don't need God, and Jesus isn't their savior. Maybe you are. Abortion again, you sure have a one track mind with respect to that. Judge is at the bench, and when we get to the bench, it will either be warm or cold. Earth is for choice. Make yours and live with it, and stop telling us what judgments you would make if you were on the bench. We all know that you and Wilburt think you have God on your side. I heard him say so on national TV, eveybody will get $1K ~ where in the hell is he going to get the money? Surely not from his $600M political chest he wants us to believe he raised from poor stiffs. This money is coming from our oil-rich enemies overseas. I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

He was an HONEST and PATRIOTIC American. I am sad to say this cannot be said about Obama. His choice of friends and backers include American terrorists, Black-supremacy ministers, Nation of Islam leader, Palistinian and Saudi advisors, Marxist multi-billionaire and Marxist teachers, convicted Federal felon, and, to boot, he went to Kenya to campaign for his cousin, Raila Odinga, butcher of Kenya. He made these choices in his adult years.
Can you, in your heart of hearts, believe he is not a puppet for those who want to bring this great nation to it's knees? It's always about his Blackness. What about his Whiteness? I have never in my life been a bigot as I am in a true minority.

But that's OK, I negated her vote by early-voting for McCain. At the very least, I know he has this country's best interests at heart. He is not going to penalize success by taxing (stealing) their assets to give to those who choose not to contribute any thing to this economy or to society in general,but, rather, expect productive citizens to continue to contribute to those life-long, generation after generation, way of life people on welfare.
Obama's tax records, which he was obliged to disclose, shows he and Michelle contributed 2% - yes, 2%, of his income to charity. He has stated he wants to spread the wealth, but not his wealth.
Does that show character and caring? He is a farce and a danger to this country.

Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?

An open letter to the local daily paper -- almost every local daily paper in America:

I remember reading All the President's Men and thinking: That's journalism. You do what it takes to get the truth and you lay it before the public, because the public has a right to know.

This housing crisis didn't come out of nowhere. It was not a vague emanation of the evil Bush administration.

It was a direct result of the political decision, back in the late 1990s, to loosen the rules of lending so that home loans would be more accessible to poor people. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were authorized to approve risky loans.

What is a risky loan? It's a loan that the recipient is likely not to be able to repay.

The goal of this rule change was to help the poor -- which especially would help members of minority groups. But how does it help these people to give them a loan that they can't repay? They get into a house, yes, but when they can't make the payments, they lose the house -- along with their credit rating.

They end up worse off than before.

This was completely foreseeable and in fact many people did foresee it. One political party, in Congress and in the executive branch, tried repeatedly to tighten up the rules. The other party blocked every such attempt and tried to loosen them.

Furthermore, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were making political contributions to the very members of Congress who were allowing them to make irresponsible loans. (Though why quasi-federal agencies were allowed to do so baffles me. It's as if the Pentagon were allowed to contribute to the political campaigns of Congressmen who support increasing their budget.)

Isn't there a story here? Doesn't journalism require that you who produce our daily paper tell the truth about who brought us to a position where the only way to keep confidence in our economy was a $700 billion bailout? Aren't you supposed to follow the money and see which politicians were benefitting personally from the deregulation of mortgage lending?

I have no doubt that if these facts had pointed to the Republican Party or to John McCain as the guilty parties, you would be treating it as a vast scandal. "Housing-gate," no doubt. Or "Fannie-gate."

Instead, it was Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, both Democrats, who denied that there were any problems, who refused Bush administration requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and who were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans almost up to the minute they failed.

As Thomas Sowell points out in a TownHall.com essay entitled Do Facts Matter? "Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush's Secretary of the Treasury."

These are facts. This financial crisis was completely preventable. The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was ... the Democratic Party. The party that tried to prevent it was ... the Republican Party.

Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie. Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!

What? It's not the liar, but the victims of the lie who are to blame?

Now let's follow the money ... right to the presidential candidate who is the number-two recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae.

And after Franklin Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who made $90 million while running it into the ground, was fired for his incompetence, one presidential candidate's campaign actually consulted him for advice on housing.

If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.

But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an "adviser" to the Obama campaign -- because that campaign had sought his advice -- you actually let Obama's people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn't listed as an official adviser to the Obama campaign.

You would never tolerate such weasely nit-picking from a Republican.

If you who produce our local daily paper actually had any principles, you would be pounding this story, because the prosperity of all Americans was put at risk by the foolish, short-sighted, politically selfish, and possibly corrupt actions of leading Democrats, including Obama.

If you who produce our local daily paper had any personal honor, you would find it unbearable to let the American people believe that somehow Republicans were to blame for this crisis.

There are precedents. Even though President Bush and his administration never said that Iraq sponsored or was linked to 9/11, you could not stand the fact that Americans had that misapprehension -- so you pounded us with the fact that there was no such link. (Along the way, you created the false impression that Bush had lied to them and said that there was a connection.)

If you had any principles, then surely right now, when the American people are set to blame President Bush and John McCain for a crisis they tried to prevent, and are actually shifting to approve of Barack Obama because of a crisis he helped cause, you would be laboring at least as hard to correct that false impression.

Your job, as journalists, is to tell the truth. That's what you claim you do, when you accept people's money to buy or subscribe to your paper.

But right now, you are consenting to or actively promoting a big fat lie -- that the housing crisis should somehow be blamed on Bush, McCain, and the Republicans. You have trained the American people to blame everything bad -- even bad weather -- on Bush, and they are responding as you have taught them to.

If you had any personal honor, each reporter and editor would be insisting on telling the truth -- even if it hurts the election chances of your favorite candidate.

Because that's what honorable people do. Honest people tell the truth even when they don't like the probable consequences. That's what honesty means. That's how trust is earned.

Barack Obama is just another politician, and not a very wise one. He has revealed his ignorance and naivete time after time -- and you have swept it under the rug, treated it as nothing.

Meanwhile, you have participated in the borking of Sarah Palin, reporting savage attacks on her for the pregnancy of her unmarried daughter -- while you ignored the story of John Edwards's own adultery for many months.

So I ask you now: Do you have any standards at all? Do you even know what honesty means?

Is getting people to vote for Barack Obama so important that you will throw away everything that journalism is supposed to stand for?

You might want to remember the way the National Organization of Women threw away their integrity by supporting Bill Clinton despite his well-known pattern of sexual exploitation of powerless women. Who listens to NOW anymore? We know they stand for nothing; they have no principles.

That's where you are right now.

It's not too late. You know that if the situation were reversed, and the truth would damage McCain and help Obama, you would be moving heaven and earth to get the true story out there.

If you want to redeem your honor, you will swallow hard and make a list of all the stories you would print if it were McCain who had been getting money from Fannie Mae, McCain whose campaign had consulted with its discredited former CEO, McCain who had voted against tightening its lending practices.

Then you will print them, even though every one of those true stories will point the finger of blame at the reckless Democratic Party, which put our nation's prosperity at risk so they could feel good about helping the poor, and lay a fair share of the blame at Obama's door.

You will also tell the truth about John McCain: that he tried, as a Senator, to do what it took to prevent this crisis. You will tell the truth about President Bush: that his administration tried more than once to get Congress to regulate lending in a responsible way.

I am answering your questions about the ADULTERY that Sen John S. McCain committed, not only with Cindy McCain, but A LOT of other women, that was your question. The question has been asked and answered. You asked me how I knew about it. I gave you the facts about your question.

Beyond this, you have called me a name, thus showing how you engage in intellectual discussion.

You remind me of a child, when questioned and told no, the say all their friends are doing it or bring up other questions.

Once again, BIG Republicans in my family, raised in the inner sanctum of the Republican party, and I will NOT VOTE for Sen John S. I never said Joe the plumber didn't have a right to buy his bosses business. I said he's an idiot if he does. It would be much SMARTER of him to sub contract the work from his retiring boss for a nominal 12-15% fee, and build his own business.
First rule of business:
Never use your own money!!! Especially when you buy an established business. Once you put all your money into buying it, you usually have very little left for working capital. If you don't have working capital, you don't have a business.

You still think this financial crisis was caused by Fannie and Freddie? Do you know what derivatives or credit default swaps are? Try watching Bloomberg or CNBC.

Who's to blame? Clinton pushed through the "deregulation" of these things at the end of his term at the behest of Allan Greenspan. I guess you didn't see his testimony before congress last week.

Like I said before, Fannie and Freddie were just backing the loans that were being written by banks and mortgage companies. Fannie and Freddie represent those FDR, New Deal policies that conservatives fight to destroy everyday. What conservatives like to call "welfare state", or "big government". By the way, McCain's own campaign manager was taking money from F&F.

I just saw a commercial run by letfreedomring.org. I guess it was their take on Joe the plumber. Instead, it was Fred the farmer, I guess, because there was a tractor in the background. He said he has an opportunity to grow his small business by 20 or 30 employees but, if Obama is president he won't. I guess he's afraid of paying more taxes.

Here's the thing. Yeah, he'll probably be in a higher tax bracket and have to pay a higher percentage but, HE'LL STILL BE MAKING MORE MONEY. If I had a chance to grow my business by 20 or 30, I'd do it even if Forest Gump was president.

When I estimate a job or bill out a time/material job, I figure about $30/man hour. I pay an employee $15/hr. After payroll taxes and business insurance it costs me about $20/hr., so I make about $10/hr for each employee. Multiply that by 30 employees, and I'm making $300/hr.

Of course I wouldn't really be making quite that much, because I'd have to hire more support staff for bookkeeping, estimating, supervisors, etc. and buy more equipment. Not only that, I would probably have to incorporate my business at that point. I'd probably get a better rate on worker's comp and liability insurance. As I said before, taxes would very low on my list of concerns for growing my business. Higher tax rates can be taken care by increased deductions and credits.

WASHINGTON – A judge has ordered the Justice Department to produce White House memos that provide the legal basis for the Bush administration's post-Sept. 11 warrantless wiretapping program.

U.S. District Judge Henry Kennedy Jr. signed an order Friday requiring the department to produce the memos by the White House legal counsel's office by Nov. 17. He said he will review the memos in private to determine if any information can be released publicly without violating attorney-client privilege or jeopardizing national security.

Kennedy issued his order in response to lawsuits by civil liberties groups in 2005 after news reports disclosed the wiretapping.

The department had argued that the memos were protected attorney-client communications and contain classified information.

But Kennedy said that the attorney-client argument was "too vague" and that he would have to look at the documents himself to determine if that argument is valid and also to see if there is information that can be released without endangering national security.

Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd said Saturday the department is reviewing the opinion and will "respond appropriately in court."

Shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks, Bush authorized the National Security Agency to spy on calls between people in the U.S. and suspected terrorists abroad without obtaining court warrants. The administration said it needed to act more quickly than the court could and that the president had inherent authority under the Constitution to order warrantless domestic spying.

After the program was challenged in court, Bush last year put it under the supervision of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, established in 1978 after the domestic spying scandals of the 1970s.

"We think just as a common sense matter the legal theories for the president's wiretap programs cannot be classified and should be available to the public," said Marc Rotenberg, president of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, one of the groups seeking the memos.

"It's an important decision because up to this point the judge has relied on the government's assertion that it has done everything properly under the law and that it has disclosed everything it needs to disclose," Rotenberg said Saturday.

My question is how come a judge never ordered the wiretapping memos to be relased during the Clinton administration when he did the exact same thing to Aldrich Ames in 1995, an American citizen weho was convicted of selling secrets to the Russians. “Remember that for years, if you were a politician in Chicago, you had to have some type of relationship with Louis Farrakhan. You had to. If you didn’t, you would be ostracized out of black Chicago,” said Dr. Vibert White Jr., who spent most of his adult life as a member and ultimately top officer of the Nation of Islam.

White broke with the group in 1995 and is now a professor of African-American history at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

White said Obama was “part of the Chicago scene” where Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. and radicals would go to each other’s events and support each other’s causes.

“Even though Chicago is the third-largest city in the country, within the black community, the political and militant nationalist community is very small. So it wouldn’t be uncommon for [Obama and Farrakhan] to show up at events together, or at least be there and communicate with each other,” White told Newsmax.

The Anti-Defamation League has denounced Farrakhan and his Nation of Islam as a “hate group.”

Farrakhan has called Jews “bloodsuckers,” “satanic” and accused them of running the slave trade. Farrakhan endorsed Obama in a videotaped speech to his followers at Mosque Miryam in Chicago in February. “You are the instruments that God is gonna use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth,” Farrakhan said.

He told the crowd that Obama was the new “messiah.” See Video: Farrakhan Endorses Obama, Calls Him Messiah.

Once the news media and the Clinton campaign got hold of those comments from Farrakhan, demands mounted from all sides that Obama “renounce” Farrakhan.

But as he has done repeatedly throughout this campaign, Obama was careful to parse his words.

“You know, I have been very clear in my denunciation of Minister Farrakhan's anti-Semitic comments,” he said during one appearance on “Meet the Press.” “I think that they are unacceptable and reprehensible.”

Obama hastened to point out that Farrakhan had been praising him as “an African-American who seems to be bringing the country together. I obviously can't censor him, but it is not support that I sought. And we’re not doing anything, I assure you, formally or informally with Minister Farrakhan.”

But Obama, once again, was less than candid.
In 1995, according to a profile of Obama that appeared in the Chicago Reader newspaper, Obama “took time off from attending campaign coffees to attend October’s Million Man March in Washington, D.C.”

At the time, Obama was running for the Illinois Senate from Chicago’s South Side, a seat he won after getting surrogates to challenge the signatures on nominating petitions for his chief rival, the incumbent Alice Palmer.

The march, which fell far short of attracting the million men it advertised, was organized by Farrakhan and by Obama’s then-pastor, the anti-white black nationalist Wright.

Obama spoke at length with the Chicago Reader upon his return from the Million Man March. “What I saw was a powerful demonstration of an impulse and need for African-American men to come together to recognize each other and affirm our rightful place in the society," he said.

“These are mean, cruel times, exemplified by a ‘lock ’em up, take no prisoners’ mentality that dominates the Republican-led Congress,” Obama said.

“Historically, African-Americans have turned inward and towards black nationalism whenever they have a sense, as we do now, that the mainstream has rebuffed us, and that white Americans couldn't care less about the profound problems African-Americans are facing."

“Black nationalism” is a current of thought and political action in the African-American community that has been championed by the likes of Farrakhan, Wright, Malcolm X, the Black Panthers and Khalid al-Mansour. Obama discussed his attraction to black nationalism at length in his 1995 memoir “Dreams of My Father.”

Obama further parsed his words in a Feb. 25, 2008, presentation to a Jewish community meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, where he insisted that Wright “does not have a close relationship with Louis Farrakhan.”

And yet, just months earlier, Wright’s Trumpet magazine gave Farrakhan its Lifetime Achievement Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award, saying that Farrakhan “truly epitomized greatness.”

That award was the fruit of a long and deep relationship between the two men, White told Newsmax. In 1984, Wright accompanied Farrakhan on his much-criticized trip to meet Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, at a time when Gadhafi was considered an enemy of the United States.

Wright also accompanied Farrakhan and Jackson to Syria in 1986, where they successfully negotiated with Syrian strongman for the release of downed American pilot Robert O. Goodman.

Obama’s Speaking Style
In addition to the ideological affinity Obama expressed for the black nationalist movement, White believes that Obama owes much of his success as a public orator to speaking techniques that Farrakhan developed over the years, and exploited for years to great success.

“If you listen to the rhetoric and you take away Obama’s political jargon, you hear a religious tenor to it that is very much Nation of Islam-like. I don’t know if anyone has ever touched on it, but Obama’s speaking style is very Malcolm-like, very Farrakhan-like,” White said.

Any American who has listened to early radio or television interviews of Obama can hear how dramatically Obama’s speaking style has changed since he became a United States senator.

In clips dating from 2001 and even early 2004, Obama speaks haltingly and in long, rambling sentences packed with legalese and dense pseudo-academic rhetoric. But not today.

“As a former minister of the Nation of Islam, I know how they speak,” White told Newsmax. “I don’t know who was training Obama. But that style is not a ministerial style like in the Christian church. It’s a Nation of Islam style.”

White began in the late 1970s as a foot soldier in the Fruit of Islam, the military branch of Farrakhan’s Black Muslim group, then rose to become a minister of the Nation of Islam and a top deputy to Farrakhan himself.

Known initially as Brother Vibert L.X., and later as Minister V.L. Muhammad, he parted ways with Farrakhan not long after the Million Man March, after nearly 25 years within the organization.

White’s 2002 book “Inside the Nation of Islam” prompted death threats by Farrakhan loyalists, so he left Illinois and moved to Florida to teach at the University of Central Florida.

He told Newsmax that Obama’s remarkable speaking style, even his manner of standing at a podium to appear larger than life, is directly copied from Farrakhan.

“If the Nation of Islam can’t do anything else, it can train people how to speak. And nobody can outspeak a Muslim minister,” he said.

Earlier this year, a pro-Clinton blog run by former CIA officer Larry Johnson unearthed a 2004 photograph showing Michelle Obama and Farrakahn’s wife, Mother Khadijah Farrakhan, at an event hosted by Jackson’s Citizenship Education Foundation.

Newsmax queried Obama’s U.S. Senate office, his Chicago office and his campaign press office about his ties to Farrakhan, but did not receive a reply.

Ever since he appeared before the annual policy conference of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee in June, Obama has attempted to convince the Jewish community that he is pro-Israel.

But his longstanding ties to Farrakhan, Wright and Palestinian activist Rashid Khalidi, among others, have disturbed many Jewish community leaders.

Sen. John McCain publicly chastised The Los Angeles Times on Thursday for not releasing a videotape the newspaper said it possessed of a 2003 dinner for Khalidi, where Obama reportedly accused Israel of carrying out a “genocide” against the Palestinians.

Under the iron fist of the Democratic empire your employer would no longer receive a tax benefit for matching your contribution, so they won't do it. And you will lose half of your retirement contributions. And don't forget, that you will lose your tax breaks from the 401k plan also, so you'd be paying the government to let you retire. A plea for your vote

Within the history of our nation, we as individuals have come together in a
common goal in support of our country. This was done at the birth of our
democracy. Again, we worked in concert during World War II whether on the
battlefield or at home. I believe the present crisis our country is facing is
another time in our history, a time when we, as individuals need to act in a
concerted effort to keep the democratic republic our founding fathers envisioned
alive.

This act is one that will require us all to set aside partisan politics.
Distance ourselves from whichever political party we affiliate with and divorce
ourselves from the typical "hot button" issues that divide us within the
political arena. We can even set aside our choice of president in this action.
The president may be the leader of this country, but each one has but a short
time to impact our lives and the long term course of our nation.

Like any act for the common good, it won't be easy. It never is to deny the
innate desire to act in one's self interest. But this will be required to keep
the sanctity of the constitution intact. The enormity of what Congress has done
has been culminated in the legislation that obligated nearly one trillion
dollars of our tax dollars to nationalize what we have always referred to as the
"Free Market". Our Congress has taken the single greatest step yet toward
creating a Socialist Republic of America. Before such comments make you stop
reading, consider that the Federal Reserve Bank now owns a significant stake in
many banks whose stocks are trading on the world's market.

We need to remove every member of Congress that is up for re-election on
November 4th. Anything less will not send the message to OUR representatives
that is necessary to take back the control of our country.

Which of us has not been grievously impacted by this legislation or the
legislation that caused the current crisis. To dispel the notion that the
mortgage and banking industry was all to blame for this, keep in mind that
our free market operates within the laws that Congress enacts. After our
representatives assured us that this action was needed to insure stability in
the market, we have all watched helplessly as our 401K, SEP, IRA and annuities
have been cut by half or more. Those of us still working have had years added to
our careers in order to recoup our retirement. Those in retirement now have to
worry if there will be enough money to keep them from going back to work.

Whether Democrat or Republican, Libertarian or Liberal, we must act in unison to
achieve the impact to the career politician's way of life in the same manner
that the politician has impacted ours. To remove such a number of those in
Congress in a coordinated manner would remind them of the responsibilities they
have shirked. Those remaining would see the resolve of the people whom they
swore an oath to serve. Such an act would give the individual voter the same
clout in Washington the lobbyists have too long enjoyed. We would be the special
interest. We, once again, would be the force behind our democracy.

All that is required is to vote against the incumbent in next month's election.

To do this together, talk to your family and friends. Convince them to do the
same. Join a non-partisan act to send a message to our government that we wish
to live in the democracy envisioned by the first patriots and won by all those
that have fought and died to keep our nation a democracy.

Vote for our country. Vote the incumbent out of office.

A Newsmax investigation of Obama/Biden campaign contributors, undertaken in conjunction with a private investigative firm headed by a former CIA operations officer, has identified 118 donors who appear to lack U.S. citizenship.


Some of these “red flag” donors work for foreign governments; others have made public statements declaring that they are citizens of Cameroun, Nigeria, Pakistan, Canada, and other countries.


A Newsmax sampling of about 3,400 donors also found hundreds more who showed “yellow flags” such as not having used a Social Security number or a known U.S. address. Most U.S.-born citizens are issued Social Security numbers at birth or by the time they enter kindergarten.


Under federal law, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents may donate to federal political campaigns. It is illegal for the campaigns to accept money knowingly from foreign donors.


The McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill of 2002 placed new restrictions on political fundraising after the scandals of 1996, when the Clinton-Gore re-election campaign was exposed for having taken millions of dollars of unregulated soft money from donors with ties to Chinese military intelligence.


But even with the new laws, it remains very difficult to identify with any precision foreign money if a campaign itself does not cooperate with the Federal Election Commission and perform its own due diligence.


Until very recently, the Obama campaign had no safeguards in its online fundraising Web site designed to weed out foreign donors. Instead, its operations appeared to be designed specifically to enhance the flow of illegal money.


The Newsmax investigation focused only on donors whose names the Obama campaign disclosed, which are available to public scrutiny through the Federal Election Commission Web site.


In addition to the donations the campaign has disclosed, however, it has taken an unprecedented $218 million from donors whose names it is keeping secret, according to FEC spokesman Robert Biersack.


That money came from individuals who in theory never passed the threshold of $200, the limit the FEC set for public disclosure of a donor’s name and place of residence, so there is no way of knowing how much foreign money could be included in that amount.


For example, hidden away amidst the unprecedented $150 million Obama claims to have raised from individual donors in September was more than $42 million raised from secret donors. These donations appear in the records as a single entry under the heading, “Donors, Unitemized.”


Newsmax retained the services of former CIA operations officer Frederick W. Rustmann Jr. and a team of international forensic accounting experts to comb through Obama’s donor list to identify those who apparently aren’t U.S. citizens or residents. Rustmann, a 24 year veteran field officer, operates CTC International Group Ltd., a West Palm Beach, Fla., firm that provides business intelligence services and analysis.


Using sophisticated Internet search tools, fee-based data bases, and other public records, CTC attempted to identify Social Security numbers and U.S. addresses connected to the Obama donors. Most of these donors gave obvious overseas addresses when they made their donations, but the Obama campaign had no security screen to detect them.


“Hillary and McCain demanded proof of citizenship of all their donors,” Rustmann said. “Obama did not, so he benefitted by receiving an enormous amount of money from foreign donors who wanted to influence the U.S. election process.”


Rustmann and his investigative team expressed “high suspicions” that 118 donors flagged as “red” were not U.S. citizens.


“That’s all we can say for certain, because it’s difficult to prove citizenship with no database that lists citizens,” Rustmann said.


Typical is Victor A. of Lagos, Nigeria, who gave $500 to the campaign in May. In the FEC database, his address is listed as Ikoyi, NA. But a closer look at the actual itemized receipts filed by the campaign shows that he declared his address as 9e Awori Street Dolphin Estate, Lagos, Nigeria.


That apparently slipped by the eagle eyes of the Obama campaign’s finance team.


A survey of the Obama donor base returns 8,794 donations from individuals who gave their state as “NA.” They included donors from Bangalore, India; London; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Lagos, Nigeria; and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.


Thousands more gave state abbreviations that, combined with the city addresses they listed, clearly referred to foreign countries. Examples include IT (Italy), FR (France), GR (Greece), NZ (New Zealand), JP (Japan), GA (Gaza).


Another 2,372 donors gave their state of residence as “ZZ,” with cities including Moscow, Barcelona, Beirut, London, Lausanne, Singapore, Hagatna, Gunma-Ken, Buelach, Shanghai, Geneva, Prague, Aichi-Gun, Kiev, Hong Kong, and others.


The Obama campaign claims that these donors with overseas addresses are Americans living abroad, but there is no way of knowing that for certain because the campaign has not systematically required proof of citizenship from overseas donors.


The pace of foreign donations and other questionable fundraising practices has increased during the past few weeks, even as Obama campaign spokesmen say they have closed loopholes on their Web site and changed the credit-card authorization procedures that have allowed such donations. The Federal Election Commission had flagged 16,639 potential foreign donations as of Oct. 21 that brought in $5,249,263.96 to the campaign.


Take the case of Jo Jacquet, who gave $23,065 to Obama in 23 separate contributions last month. CTC found three people with variations of the name “Jo Anna Jacquet” who had U.S. addresses and Social Security numbers. It is not clear whether this specific Obama donor is a U.S. citizen.


“Jo Jacquet” made all of her contributions on two days, alternating between $5 and $2,300 charges to a credit card.


On all of the donations, she gave her employer as “DFDFGDFG,” and her profession as “DFGDFGDFGHFGH.” None of this attracted the suspicions of the Obama campaign or of Chase Paymentech, the company that processes the Obama campaign’s credit card donations.


The FEC requested that the Obama campaign re-attribute or re-designate all of the money from “Jo Jacquet” that went beyond the $4,600 limit but did not require that it be refunded. Under campaign finance rules, the campaign can shift this money into the “Obama Victory” account, a joint fundraising committee with much higher individual limits that it operates with the Democratic National Committee.


One apparent reason for the unusual number of foreign donors who may not hold U.S. citizenship is the fact the Obama campaign turned off the security features most merchants demand for customers when doing online transactions, such as verifying the card number against the cardholder’s name and billing address.


Another major loophole is the apparent widespread use of gift cards, which notoriously have been used for money-laundering purposes, especially in places such as Russia and Ukraine, industry security analysts tell Newsmax.


Newsmax asked James Wester, a spokesman for Chase Paymentech, who was responsible for taking the unusual step of deactivating the Address Verification Service recommended by VISA USA on the Obama Web site. Such security features can be deactivated by the processing company, or at the request of the merchant, in this case, Obama for America.


Wester said that Paymentech was “not going to be issuing a statement at this time.”


VISA USA has a series of verification tools it recommends to online merchants to prevent online credit card fraud and to guarantee the security of personal credit-card information.


“Fraudsters have been known to test credit card numbers by making online donations to charitable organizations,” a credit-card industry insider told Newsmax, on condition of anonymity.


In fact, by operating as a “high-risk merchant,” the Obama campaign could put both its donors and Chase Paymentech at risk, he said.


“A legitimate online merchant or charity would call in the Secret Service or the FBI” if it saw the high fraud rates that have appeared on the Obama campaign Web site.


“If they are not taking basic security safeguards to prevent such obvious online fraud as you have found, then how can any donor have confidence that they will protect credit card information? But if cash flow is the name of the game, it doesn’t matter as long as they get the money up-front and get the job done. They can pay the fines later,” he added.


Following are a few of the individuals the Newsmax/CTC International investigation found of overseas donors. To demonstrate its compliance with FEC regulations, the Obama campaign should request proof that these individuals are, indeed, U.S. citizens;



Nasser Z. of 187 Blvd Bineau in Paris-France, “NA,” made seven donations totaling $785. CTC found no record indicating U.S. citizenship. But on Nasser’s personal blog, he states that he is of Algerian origin and lives between Paris and Dubai. He also notes that he is not registered to vote in the United States and hints that he may be an adviser to the Obama campaign on Arab relations.



Salem H. gave $200 to the campaign in March 2008, listing a London address. He said he worked as a salesman for “Anaka,” No information was found either on Haffar or his company indicating U.S. citizenship.



Essomba H. made 11 donations totaling $265. Essomba gave an address in Lyon, “NA,” and said he was unemployed but working for “Association,” the French equivalent of a community organizer. CTC found that Essomba actually worked for PDT Associates Afrikespace et Oyenga, which showed him as living in Lyon, France. His personal blog states, "I'm a Cameroonian living in France” and notes that he is not registered to vote.



Gedewon (or Gideon) G. made 32 donations totaling $1,095. Although he lists his employer as “Filtom Design Services” and his residence as Toronto, Canada, CTC could find no company with that name. Gedewon frequently posts blogs to a Web site for expatriate Eritreans, where he often promotes Obama.



Mahamane M. gave $500 to the campaign and listed his address as Niamey, the capitol of the central African state of Niger. He listed his occupation as managing director of C.N.U.T. Niger. The Public Transport Users Council, CNUT is affiliated with the prime minister’s office. In an interview, Mahamane said he is particularly interested in developing transportation resources that will help bring Niger’s extensive uranium resources to market.



Gilles M. lives in Zurich and claims to be “founder and senior consultant” of 4?ME (sic) Image Consulting. Gilles made three donations to the campaign for a total of $240.39. The campaign found him suspicious enough to return one of them in July, but kept the rest. Under FEC rules, that will bring Gilles back into the shadows, since his aggregate contributions now total less than $200.



Stamen S. of Sofia, Bulgaria, lists his profession as “Mployer” and his employer as "Employer." He has made ten donations totaling $170. CTC found no record indicating U.S. citizenship.



Francis B. . of La Creche, France, made three donations totaling $200. He is reported as being a medicine physician at Hospital-Niort and is listed. CTC found no verifiable record of U.S. citizenship.



Pedro M.,. who said he was a salesman for Intermundo in Prague, made two donations for a total of $900. CTC found no verifiable record indicating U.S. citizenship.



Sandeep M., . an investment manager at Clariden Leu, Kuesnacht, in Zurich, Switzerland, gave the maximum $2,300 allowed per election. CTC found no verifiable record indicating U.S. citizenship.



Marissa M., . a nurse living in Guatemala City, gave eight $25 donations. CTC found no verifiable record indicating U.S. citizenship.



Somine L. . declared that she worked at the French Ministry of Culture in Paris, and donated $100. CTC found no verifiable record indicating U.S. citizenship.


Although CTC had no way of accurately evaluating the real amount of foreign donations based on the survey they did for Newsmax, Rustmann said he believe that the anecdotal evidence was clear.


“In my opinion, from what I have seen here, millions of dollars came from illegal donations, because the Obama campaign did little to vet the donors,” Rustmann said.


An earlier Newsmax estimate, based on the unusual occurrence of unrounded contributions, which fundraising experts attributed to foreign currency donations, concluded that as much as $63 million could have come from foreign sources.


A veteran investigator with the Criminal Investigative Division of the U.S. Secret Service told Newsmax on Monday that most of the donor fraud Newsmax has identified could fly under the radar of federal investigators, unless the feds received a complaint from a victim of identify fraud.


Identify fraud certainly appeared to be the case when it came to the $174,800 donated in September in the name of Manchester, Mo., resident, Mary T. Biskup. A retired insurance manager, Biksup told The Washington Post that she never gave the money to the Obama campaign, and had checked her credit-card statements and couldn’t find any trace of a charge to her account.


“We're not out a penny," Biskup said. "I gather that someone has hacked into something using other people's credit cards and putting my name on it."


The credit-card industry often covers up identify fraud, such as apparently occurred with Biskup. Credit-card companies would rather swallow losses and chargebacks than admit to consumers that criminals have cracked their security systems, insiders tell Newsmax.

Laws vary from state to state but, I think most states frown on operating a plumbing business without a plumber's license. I find it very unlikely someone would "turn off" these security features on purpose. I would think the transactions incurred would not be insured by Visa's insurance, leaving Visa open for huge lawsuits.

Banks, credit card companies and their insurance companies pay out billions of dollars due to credit card fraud. I can't see how anyone would actually encourage or allow this. Some websites may be more "secure" than others, but no one would actually "turn off" all security features. Every web site on the planet has safeguards in place. Even this one.

I'm sorry but your accusations are totally insane and make no sense whatsoever.

Credit card companies, banks, and retail sites are required, by law, to notify people, of possible, not actually, credit card fraud and/or loss of personal info. They can't cover it up. NOT POSSIBLE! Not only would they leave themselves open to civil litigation, but also criminal. If that were not the case, nobody, and I mean nobody, would ever pay a bill or buy anything online.

In fact, you are so off base, you can't be mistaken, you must be flat out lying!!!

So, yes there will be a need for concern and some investigation. Safeguards may or may not be necessary. But to accuse the Obama people of knowingly doing this is both premature and unfair.

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to painkillers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Could that be a hint of socialism?
People hear but they don't listen. Change we can believe in is his mantra; spread the wealth around, another mantra (from one who gave a whopping 2% to charity per his and his wife's tax returns). People hear what they want to hear, what makes them feel good.
Yes, Senator Obama, using your words, I am going to "cling to my guns and to my religion" because that's all I'll have left when you and your leftist/socialistic friends get done taking this great country down the drain.

Let me start with Farrakhan. The Nation of Islam is not the same as al Qaeda. Except they all believe in Allah and read the Koran and don't eat pork. I hope you at least understand that. If you are worried Farrakhan may have some back room deal with Obama, you need not worry. Many people believe it was Farrakhan who killed Malcolm X. I do not. What I believe, is that the CIA killed Malcolm, but not before they had a deal in place with Farrakhan to take over The Nation of Islam afterward. Malcolm struck a nerve, a very big nerve, when he accused the CIA of pouring drugs into the inner cities for appeasement of the minorities. We all know the CIA had no involvement with drug smuggling in Vietnam, right? (And we never bombed Cambodia or Laos). So, I believe Farrakhan already has an ongoing back room deal with the government. He's just a pawn and is of no concern to me. The CIA has him under their wing. That however, is a little worrisome.

The whole Rev Wright thing was staged to get all those right wingers to finally realize that Obama is not a Muslim. Although, some still do.

Hey everybody, I just voted. Hooray for me, and the rest of the civilized world. No, world civilization, as we know it, is not going to come to a grinding halt!

Do you want to know who I voted for? You might think you know the answer. It wasn't easy. Since my state is already a very deep shade of blue, I was seriously considering voting for Nader or Barr as a protest vote. But, I didn't feel right about it. So, I voted for Obama. The son of a bitch better not make me sorry.

I also voted for Frank Lautenberg, because he's a damn good senator.

As for US Rep. I didn't vote for Frank LoBiondo. It's not because he's a republican. I voted for him the last election. He's a friend of the family. My grandfather was good friends with his father and uncles who owned a trucking company. My mother went to school with him before they shipped him off to that fancy smancy private boarding school.
Two reasons. First, he said he was only going to do it for a few years. That was 20 years ago. Second, he supports off shore drilling. He owns a house down the shore for Christ's sake. Anybody who has fished for stripers in the canyons, and eaten fresh caught striper and supports off shore drilling has something seriously wrong with them. Fishing in the canyons is awesome. About the most fun I've ever had without a woman. As far as eating fresh caught striped bass. One of the best things I ever put in my mouth, without a woman. One small accident could put an to that for a very long time.

In Philadelphia , there was a claim of members of the Black Panther Party intimating voters by standing out front of a polling place at 1221 Fairmount Ave. holding batons and intimidating voters entering the polling location.

Media Lizzy, a local poll watcher blog, mentioned billy-club wielding "security" guards standing out front of this location.

Philadelphia police later showed up to tell these men that they aren't allowed to stop people from voting. In a video posted on the Youtube the two men are seen leaving the front of the building with the police officers.

There is no connection between these men and the Black Panther party, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

I have sources on the internet where I can read/see both sides of every story I'm interested in ranging from Moveon.org to Huffington Post to fact.org, google, newsbusters, newsmeat,fivethirtyeight, geekscribe, Foratv, about.com, Politico.com, pranks.com,VerticalBlue, SharpRightTurn,onenewsnow, discoverthenetworks.org,
twincities, NYT,WSJ, WP,LAT, ad infinitum.
It's only through these various sources, some partisan, some bipartison, some academia, and researching, when available, authors, that you can draw your own conclusions. Oh yes, Youtube because you actually see/hear the individuals talking. Wikipedia is fairly good.
Please know that when I post I have researched a subject quite thoroughy before I open my big mouth (lol).

My, how I'll miss this blog when the election is over. I never knew how little I knew until I became a knowledge-seeking geek.

mike: I forgot to tell you how I first became suspicious of Senator Obama.
When he broke his word and refjected public financing and it's $84M spending limit. Shortly thereafter, someone sent me the youtube piece about the "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright. I thought to myself, self, this guy needs to back to wherever he came from and quit preaching damnation to America. I couldn't believe he was a reverend because I've heard fire and brimstone before, but this was totally anti-American out-of-the-ballfield. What bothered me then was that Wright was Obama's preacher and spiritual mentor for 20 years, and Obama exposed his precious children to this hate-spewing man.
Then came Obama's community organizing years which were based on the teachings of acknowledged communist, Saul Alinsky. You topple leadership by appealing to not-so-smart masses (there are more of them) who are dissatisfied with their lot in life, but make no effort to improve it because there were too few role models.
It almost took an act of congress for Obama to come up with his birth certificate. He may be a brilliant man, but unfortunately he took a wrong turn some where to even become associated with the people who have shaped his thinking and political career.
Yes, as "saveourselves" or whatever his name is, said I am filled with fear. Fear that Senator Obama was not thoroughly vetted to become a state senator much less a US senator and then President of the United States of America?
Mark my words, President Obama will not be good for this country. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong.

What makes a good leader is being able to make the right decisions for the country as a whole. It killed Johnson. You may see Louis Farrakhan in him, but I see more Bobby Kennedy. Let's both hope I'm right. I think that's what is really driving people towards him. When people look at McCain they see Dick Cheyney. Wrong or right, that's the way things are. That's the way people are. That's what elects presidents. Persona.

The only real problem they have is all the eastern European immigrants. If you want to call it socialism, fine. Karl Marx was wrong. Very wrong. Socialism is not the stepping stone to communism. I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

In a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable Rights" of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

We cannot walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.

We cannot turn back.

There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their self-hood and robbed of their dignity by a sign stating: "For Whites Only." We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. I know it's a little late for this, but if you want to talk about race, ponder this.

How many white people voted for Obama due to white liberal guilt? How many white people wanted a black man to be president, just so black people would stop complaining about racism?

What becomes of the state of race relations now that we have a black president? Is the playing field finally level? If a black man can become president, a black man or woman can be just about anything, right?

Malcolm X said, if you stick a knife in someone's back, and pull it out a little bit, you're not doing him a favor. Is the knife finally out? If not, how much did it move, if any?

A black man did not get elected without a hell of a lot of white votes. But many of those white folk were voting for a democrat regardless.

Another thing "wilbur". The oil companies are responsible for the war in Iraq. Just like they were responsible for the escalation of the Vietnam War. Say what you want about Johnson the civil rights leader. But he caved in to the big oil companies, so they could get rich selling napalm to the US.

And what Bush did to Richards, he did to the entire country when he became president. His entire political career, the only way he could get elected, was by stealing the election with lies and deception. I know that's a quality I look for in a president.

We're going to be bleeding out our assholes longer than Richards.

Mike M… In response to your question… No, racism it’s far from over. I have listened to the commentary before and after the elections and people have made the comment that it helped him win because he was African American. I think this is very presumptuous because it’s impossible to know. How do we know by how much he would have won by if all else was equal, but he was white? Maybe the better statement would be that he took what might have been a negative and learned how “get around it” to the point that he could still win in spite of it. This is a lesson we all learn in one way or another or we become very bitter and think the world is “out to get us” or “I’ve had a raw deal”. I’ve lived enough to know that no one gets off this planet without some problem to overcome. Some learn to deal, some don’t.

We as human beings live with a dichotomy that is going to be hard to fix. We want to belong to a family… a group of like minded people… a group to feel safe and comfortable around. In order to do this, we separate ourselves into subgroups and find ways of living and working with “like minded” individuals. And then, we bitch because others are being prejudice against us. We have yet to figure out how to critique ourselves, laugh at our faults and then let others in on the joke. I hate to say it, but based on how much anger I’ve read just on this blog over the last couple weeks, we’re not there yet.

Maybe a book about a supreme court case she would have insight on. I know she had abortiion on her mind a the time, but GAWD Y'ALL.
