QUOTES FROM “REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER

Following are quotables from “Real Time with Bill Maher” for Friday, March 11, 2011. “Real Time with Bill Maher” airs Fridays at 10:00PM ET (10:00PM PT, tape delayed) on HBO, with additional replays throughout the week on HBO and HBO 2.

It turns out that in the Republican budget they submitted for next year, they slash funding for the agency that issues Tsunamis warnings and organizes response to the Tsunamis. In their defense, Republicans say Tsunamis are just a theory and they are not a real threat, like ACORN, the Black Panthers, NPR and math teachers in Wisconsin.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue

Good news for Freedom Lovers, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has signed the bill sticking it to the real power brokers in our society, the teachers, janitors and bus drivers.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue

Who would have thought that sending your kid into a dark booth with a middle aged single man, in a dress, would lead to something bad.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue on the suspension of Philadelphia priests for sexual misconduct

Newt Gingrich’s patriotism is a little different. When he and his intern hear the National Anthem, she gets a lump in her throat.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue regarding Newt Gingrich’s “patriotic” philandering

Sarah Palin has strong opinions on the Libyans. She said marriage is between a man and a woman and Libyans like Rachel Maddow are what is ruining this country.

- Bill Maher in his opening monologue

If you listen to terrorist rhetoric, what they do is they cite politics, they cite political grievances. They don’t use too much religion. When you find Muslims who reject terrorism, as most do, it often is for spiritual and religious and moral reasons. But when people want to justify it, they justify it on political reasons.

- Rep. Keith Ellison

Dana Loesch: Collective bargaining is not listed in the Constitution.

Paul Begala: Neither is having sex with your wife but it doesn’t mean that the government can tell me I can’t do it.

- Dana Loesch and Paul Begala discussing the Wisconsin teachers protests

People aren’t voting their pocketbooks, they’ve voting their culture. They’re voting how they feel about gays, about how they feel about god, they’re voting guns. They are not voting economics because they don’t see their interests bound up economically. They see it as how the world looks at them.

- Tom Davis

The government is responsible for the material welfare of the people but as we know, the government is also responsible for a certain type of education of the people. Art, and we’re talking art when it is really doing what it is supposed to be doing, teaches abstract thinking, it teaches teamwork, it teaches people to actually think about things that they cannot see, it is actually an economic engine.

- Bill T. Jones

New Rule: Philadelphia’s twenty-one accused Catholic priests should cheer up. Don’t think of it as cops breaking up your pedophile club, think of it as giving up something you love for Lent.

- Bill Maher in his “New Rules” segment

This week's guests were the Rep. Keith Ellison, Tom Davis, Dana Loesch, Paul Begala and Bill T. Jones.

Ayn Rand asserted that the rule of law is the social contract. This is exemplified in the 'ethical policeman' character of Ragnar Danneskjold in AS. If Paulson et al. were true to this principle, they would have charged the damage back to the doers and punished the doers.

Professor William Black says we can still get back the 2.2 trillion in bonuses awarded out of the bailout money. I think we should assign the returning troops to this task. Soldier, this job includes merit bonuses. Show no mercy! Take film!

Sometimes lynching is good thing: the law still allows us to hang traitors, and I think we should. With that thought I'll close by noting that Bernie Maddof is hardly the example he could be. Be all you can be, number 61727-054!

Well Bill, when he said he wished he had participated in the 60s, I did't think he meant this. In fact this is the textbook procedure to create terrorists. I wish I had voted for Ron Paul in 2008, because at least then the cops would be beating and gassing bankers in tent cities with severe carcinogens and respiratory poisons, instead of putting on a show for them. Is Bill Ayers even speaking to him anymore?
I want to hear the recording where he ordered these assholes not to do this, then to stop. Then I want to see charges filed against the managers of these attacks, and their careers destroyed; not like Waco & Ruby Ridge.

Manifesto for a Secular Middle East and North Africa

The 2009 protests in Iran followed by the Arab Spring have the potential to herald a new dawn for the people of the region and the world. The protests have clearly shown that people in the region, like people everywhere, want to live 21st century lives.

We, the undersigned, emphasise their modern and human dimension and wholeheartedly welcome this immense and historical development. We are vehemently opposed to their hijacking by Islamism or US-led militarism and support the call for a free and secular Middle East and North Africa made by citizens and particularly women in the region.

Secularism is a minimum precondition for the freedom and equality of all citizens and includes:
1. Complete separation of religion from the state.
2. Abolition of religious laws in the family, civil and criminal codes.
3. Separation of religion from the educational system.
4. Freedom of religion and atheism as private beliefs.
5. Prohibition of sex apartheid and compulsory veiling.

If 40% of those eligible to vote do, you can either get indebted to 0.3% to the tune of 100 million for your campaign, or pay your voters $5.00 each... of course you also have to kick them each another $100,000 over the next 4 years, but thats not out of your pocket. The major benefit is that all the money really will pass through everyone's hands before, for the obvious reasons, ending up where it is now.
Much better than putting the presidency & elected federal offices on eBay. If we did that, we might get more up front, but there's no kickbacks on the backside. We wouldn't even get enough to go to school, so we'll have something to parlay when we have to jump the border, when the new owners evict us all to drill.

Keeping Them Honest:

Republican policy has proven over the past decade to be a failed economic policy. Over the past ten years, they have spent billions in Medicare and military spending, and lowered taxes. It’s why we’re in debt! They keep stating that they want economic growth to pay for the government spending, but that policy hasn’t worked over the past decade. We’re trillions of dollars in debt. We need to raise revenue by increasing taxes on the 1%, and by enforcing and closing corporate tax loopholes. The middle class keeps losing ground due to these failed policies. Why don’t republicans offer a new policy and stop the insanity of trying the same policies that haven’t worked for America?

May I remind you of the definition of insanity: doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

Sincerely,
Karen Wickman

If elected president I will immediately rescind all laws regarding marriages and unions and get the government completely out of your bedrooms. You may anull or renew your marriage contracts as you see fit, but the government will have no part in arbitrating your nuptials or bailing out your stupid mistakes. No more deadbeat dads, no more alimony, no more child support. If you can't afford your children, the United Nations will be happy to take them off your hands and raise them in a charity program completely funded by voluntary contributions. Besides, they get top dollar for white, blue eyed children, both sexes.

We should try abiding by the Constitution before you wad it, Bill. According to the Constitution you have the right to ingest, braid, gift and grow as much pot as you desire. Seeing how the Guelphish criminal oligarchy already totally ignores the Constitution and every mandate for civil conduct in every country, there is no reason to expect them to act differently if you change the rules the rest of us are enslaved by.

The first popular vote on record is 1840; it did not take a constitutional convention. Though they have cheated a great deal and the institution should be abolished, the only time the Electoral College elected the loser of the popular vote was the notoriously corrupt election of 1876. It is worth noting that the only election for which the full tally of the Electoral College votes are not available is the 1872 election of General Grant. Other than that the Supreme Court does not have the authority to appoint the president and since W didn't win his second term (against his fellow bonesman) by the minimum margin the incumbent always gets, he was never legally the president.

I really must get some of what you're smoking. Tell us what it is. Then perhaps I too can Love Big Brother.

Cain is just a high priced clown, distracting from the real issues facing us. He does cause Obama to expend his valuable time, effort and prematurely, his campaign resources. The only people benefitting from this 18 month campaign are criminal marketing fucks and the msm. Gives your show structure, doesn't it?

But despite the parade of RNC assclowns, at least now you are making the distinction of what is manmade global warming and what is organic. Global warming is real, but the only way it could be man-enhanced is by massive criminal intent. Suspect are the high altitude nuclear tests and the aerosol spraying, for the purpose of creating global warming symptoms in order to pass draconian legislation. As they polluted all the drinking water with fluoride to protect a nuclear materials manufacturer who had polluted some of it, I wouldn't believe a word they say. Al Gore and general state usurpation of research by fund favoritism has crippled real, unbiased inquiry.
The holes in the ozone layer were predicted before they were found. They are supposed to be there, Ozone is a product of the solar wind interacting with oxygen in the atmosphere. The electromagnetic field deflects the solar wind at the poles, where it comes in at an oblique angle, therefore ozone is not produced there. No human participation. To illustrate the propaganda, consider these molecular weights of the substances involved:

H2O 18
N2 22
O2 32
CO2 44
CFC-113 187

As you know heavier object sink, so why would CFCs routinely defy gravity? Its all bullshit, folks. As any farmer supplementing with CO2 to produce gnarly bud can tell you, CO2 immediately sinks to the ground.
As we all know, rocks do occasionally defy gravity, specifically volcanic eruptions and meteor impacts. To put it in perspective, volcanos produce several orders of magnitude more 'pollutant' gases than all humans have, ever, and they have been doing this since long before we showed up. Humans certainly are filthy primates, especially in industry, but so far not even close to the limits of what our environment can process. We will extinct ourselves long before that limit is reached. So really what is being put forth is that the dirtiest monkeys want everyone else to submit more to them, while ignoring the real issue: through no biological activity, the planet is heating up.
Consider this. In about 1/4 of a second the sun produces as much energy as the human race has since someone learned to make fire. Our planet is about 100 million miles from a massive, unshielded nuclear reaction that produces sufficient radiation to produce a solar atmosphere over 10 billion miles thick. We are quite literally on the surface of the sun. Consider also that this massive nuclear reaction oscillates regularly in intensity. Again, looking at the billion year history of Earth temperature variations that is captured in glacier ice layers, we see that not only is the current temperature within the 'normal' range, but that we are on the brink of a 100,000 year cycle shift toward extreme cold; It would have been wiser to build the seed bank in the Sahara.

Graph of Antarctic ice core sampling:

For Al Gore to be taking credit for global warming is like the loudest flea on a dog claiming that flea farts cause the dog to pant, in order to force the fleas to give him control of all the feeding spots. The global warming is real, and will be real short. The hype is a scam to soak the chumps.

On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.

Humanity has the least genetic variation of all higher life forms, making us the contra example of Darwin's theory.

"The ability of species to generate and respond to music is one of the greatest unexplained mysteries of nature. Apparently appreciation of music is built into the genetic foundation of all higher lifeforms. In humans perfect pitch seems to be encoded somewhere within the strands of DNA. If the fittest do need to survive, then how does the ability to sing in key or keep time to rhythm complement or enhance that survival?" from Art And Physics by Leonard Shlain

They both put their asses on the line To Do The Right Thing. Bradley Manning committed his life to saving you and me from violent animals like the people conspiring to kill him now. He is worth saving.
What kind of world do you want to live in? If you & friends step up now you can make a big positive difference. You have wealth & influence, use it as you chastise all the businesses sitting on their portion of the 2.2 Trillion to do. Think it through, plan and act wisely; in other words, get help. Like Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, Monroe, Burr, Marshall, etc.
You do realize that the students at Princeton fought the British at the school. We can and must fight the usurpation of tyranny from within.
Do you really want to be led into the future by the likes of Bachmann, Cain, Bush, Clinton, Perry, Obama, and the rest of these fools? I have nothing to lose, but you who have more, need to do a whole lot more. We need you; all of you.
Do nothing and you're no better than the rest of the herd.

he, as a last chance to save his life,
nails a look at a specific point between the eyes of the animal,
the Glory to the Father point !

The animal is frightened, scared, mad!
"Does man have such strength???" ... thought the animal!

Unfortunately or fortunately this happens between people too.
In any case, it is painful for both people!
The "victim" responds unpredictably and with consequences.
The "perpetrator", although "authoritarian" feels guilty,
he knows the power of this gaze, but fails to see the eyes of the victim,
as he is looking always only between them!

For your consideration

Of the millions of accomplished psychonauts, the most accomplished acid head of all time has to be Walt Disney. Thats right, Uncle Walt loved to trip! Having positively touched the lives of almost every child in the world, and most of their parents, including the ones who would never admit to trying any recreational drugs less harmful than whiskey, the extent of Walt's influence on humanity is so far at least as significant as circumcision.

Of lesser significance is the notorious deadhead Bill Wilson, better known by his cult followers (and the politicos they pay off to send them fresh victims) as Bill W, the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. Bill Wilson correctly believed LSD could cure alcoholism and crusaded for it to be used to treat the billions suffering from this addiction. Alas, then as now the alcohol lobby and profiteering quacks shut him down. Officially he redacted in favor of lucrative never ending quackery but,

Harvard professor and head shrinker Dr. Timothy Leary conducted extensive research on convict volunteers and 50 years ago demonstrated that used properly, which is to say multiple times in really high doses & serene settings, psychedelic treatment can cure alcoholism, heroin addiction and the entire spectrum of compulsive behaviors, including allergies, asthma, stuttering and other speech impediments, migraine headaches, PMS, insomnia and assholiness. Leary's career criminal test subjects had a recidivism rate 1/6 the average, so psychedelics were shoved into schedule 1 & buried as fast as possible.

And yes, they can increase intelligence too, but your mileage depends on what you have to start with & like everything else, what you do with the insights gained. Used incorrectly they can be almost as detrimental as Prozac, which is to say the downside equals the placebo. Before you sheep start regurgitating the wild exaggerations the media told you about Charles Manson, google the 1969 Tony Costa serial murders and consider why this right wing conservative conformist quiet asshole killed at least 16 people all by himself, yet Manson got the headlines and you never heard of this before.

we have in this country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks. The Federal Reserve Board, a Government board, has cheated the Government of the United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the national debt. The depredations and iniquities of the Federal Reserve Board has cost this country enough money to pay the national debt several times over. This evil institution has impoverished and ruined the people of the United States, has bankrupted itself, and has practically bankrupted our Government. It has done this through the defects of the law under which it operates, through the maladministration of that law by the Federal Reserve Board, and through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it.
...the Federal Reserve banks are... not Government institutions. They are private credit monopolies which prey upon the people of the United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers; foreign and domestic speculators and swindlers; and rich and predatory money lenders...
These twelve private credit monopolies were deceitfully and disloyally foisted upon this country by the bankers who came here from Europe and repaid us for our hospitality by undermining our American institutions.
...They have since begun the breaking up of American homes and the dispersal of American children.
Mr. Chairman, there should be no partisanship in matters concerning the banking and currency affairs of this country, and I do not speak with any.
In 1912 the National Monetary Association, under the chairmanship of the late Senator Nelson W. Aldrich, made a report and presented a vicious bill called the National Reserve Association bill. This bill is usually spoken of as the Aldrich bill. Senator Aldrich did not write the Aldrich bill. He was the tool, but not the accomplice, of the European-born bankers who for nearly twenty years had been scheming to set up a central bank in this country and who in 1912 had spent and were continuing to spend vast sums of money to accomplish their purpose.
The Aldrich bill was condemned in the platform upon which Theodore Roosevelt was nominated in the year 1912, and in that same year, when Woodrow Wilson was nominated, the Democratic platform, as adopted at the Baltimore convention, expressly stated: "We are opposed to the Aldrich plan for a central bank." This was plain language. The men who ruled the Democratic Party then promised the people that if they were returned to power there would be no central bank established here while they held the reigns of government. Thirteen months later that promise was broken, and the Wilson administration, under the tutelage of those sinister Wall Street figures who stood behind Colonel House, established here in our free country the worm-eaten monarchical institution of the "king's bank" to control us from the top downward, and to shackle us from the cradle to the grave. The Federal Reserve act destroyed our old and characteristic way of doing business; it discriminated against our one-name commercial paper, the finest in the world; it set up the antiquated two-name paper, which is the present curse of this country, and which wrecked every country which has ever given it scope; it fastened down upon this country the very tyranny from which the framers of the Constitution sought to save us.

The Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve banks are spending $100,000,000 a week buying Government securities in the open market and are making a great bid for foreign business. They are trying to make rates so attractive that the human-hair merchants and distillers and other business entities in foreign lands will come here and hire more of the public credit of the United States Government and pay the Federal Reserve outfit for getting it for them.
Mr. Chairman, when the Federal Reserve act was passed, the people of the United States did not perceive that a world system was being set up here which would make the savings of an American school-teacher available to a narcotic-drug vendor in Macao. They did not perceive that the United States were to be lowered to the position of a coolie country which has nothing but raw materials and heavy goods for export; that Russia was destined to supply the man power and that this country was to supply financial power to an international superstate -a superstate controlled by international bankers and international industrialists acting together to enslave the world for their own pleasure.
The people of the United States are being greatly wronged. If they are not, then I do not know what "wronging the people" means. They have been driven from their employments. They have been dispossessed of their homes. They have been evicted from their rented quarters. They have lost their children. They have been left to suffer and to die for lack of shelter, food, clothing, and medicine.
The wealth of the United States and the working capital of the United States has been taken away from them and has either been locked in the vaults of certain banks and the great corporations or exported to foreign countries for the benefit of the foreign customers of those banks and corporations. So far as the people of the United States are concerned, the cupboard is bare. It is true that the warehouses and coal yards and grain elevators are full, but the warehouses and coal yards and grain elevators are padlocked and the great banks and corporations hold the keys. The sack of the United States by the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve banks is the greatest crime in history.
We are trustees of the people and the rights of the people are being taken away from them. Through the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve banks, the people are losing the rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Their property has been taken from them without due process of law. Mr. Chairman, common decency requires us to examine the public accounts of the Government and see what crimes against the public welfare have and are being committed.
What is needed here is a return to the Constitution of the United States. We need to have a complete divorce of Bank and State.
The independent United States Treasury should be re-established and the Government should keep its own money under lock and key in the building the people provided for that purpose. Asset currency, the device of the swindler, should be done away with. The Government should buy gold and issue United States currency on it.
The Federal Reserve act should be repealed and the Federal Reserve banks, having violated their charters, should be liquidated immediately. Faithless Government officers who have violated their oaths of office should be impeached and brought to trial. Unless this is done by us, I predict that the American people, outraged, robbed, pillaged, insulted, and betrayed as they are in their own land, will rise in their wrath and send a President here who will sweep the money changers out of the temple.

The unemployment numbers are bogus, they pretend the long term unemployed don't exist. Just like there are no poor & illiterate people in America, everyone gets enough nutrition and everyone has an opportunity to improve themselves through higher ed.
Lets measure something the frauds haven't cooked.
The U.S. suicide rate has climbed steadily since 1999.
"Untreated depression is the leading cause of suicide", says Dr. Ian Cook. No shit, Doc.
"We really don't know what is causing this, all we have is speculation." said Dr. Paula Clayton of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. While still increasing, the rate of suicides has slowed dramatically since BO took the wheel from Bush/Cheney. I think I have found a clue… nah, better leave it to the experts.

NIMH* says,
- Every day, approximately 100 Americans take their own life.
- At about 30,000 a year, suicide is the fourth leading cause of death for adults between the ages of 18 and 65 years in the United States.
- A person dies by suicide about every 15 minutes in the United States. There are about 8-25 attempts for each successful suicide.
- Men commit suicide 4x more than women, but women attempt suicide 3x more than men, making men 12x better at finishing the job than women.
- Ten percent of all people who die by suicide are considered wholly rational at the time.
- Accounting for 1/2 of all suicides, white not hispanic people do themselves 3x more than any other racial group. Don't rush to take credit Bill, I think Shumer & Murdoch donate much more to this than you. Its global, they don't get HBO in the outback.
- 83 percent of gun-related deaths in households armed for self defense are suicides.
- Firearms are used in more suicides than homicides.
* includes the terminally ill who self medicate the kevorkian way.

The increase in suicide is almost wholly age 45-64. Hey Republicans, these people are bailing without paying their debts. Legalize weed or write off more losses, its your call.

So if they want to call it Christmas, fucking let them call it Christmas. Enjoy your holiday.

Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
To call Alice, when she was just small

When the men on the chessboard get up
And tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice, I think she'll know

Newt the Cheater for president of the Party of No? Who are they trying to kid? Adhere to the impossible moral code, except for Our Glorious Leader - this guy? The Republicans are shoveling campaign contributions at their parade of frauds, filling each of their bank accounts with campaign contributions. All these contributions are being paid for by all of us, the corporations bribing these liars just pass the costs on to us, all over the world. The Democrats are no better, they are all parasites. Anyone dumb enough to vote for this faithless cock deserves to get fleeced, and he'll do it, too. Charlie Sheen may be burning, but he's not burning us. His private life is not relevant, but his right to it is.

from A Crisis Of Consciousness by Terence McKenna before 1993

I think what we have to do is think in terms of the exhaustion of our own cultural forms. Thats what we're living through, is a global dying, created by the exhaustion of our cultural forms and the vitality of the cultural forms that we see in the so called primitive, I call them preliterate people. Thay have nothing, but what they seem to have that we cannot get a grip on is a kind if dynamic equilibrium with their environment, and peace of mind in the felt experience of the moment. These are the 2 things we don't have. As a society we cannot seem to make peace with nature. As human beings, as individuals, its very hard for us to be at peace with ourselves. I consider my own life the search for peace of mind. Forget enlightenment, forget Śūnyatā, all of this stuff, just a little peace of mind would be a tremendous boon, as far as I can see. I really think there's a confluence here of themes and possibilities. It has this richly plotted texture that always lets you know you're in the presence of a higher order of things.

Its that the shamans, whom we admire, who we idealize, seem to be at the center of this environment, the warm jungle, the warm tropics that we find it necessary to destroy. So its a perfect image of us being at war not only with ourselves but with nature itself. You've heard all about how the Amazon, and the Congo Basin, and Eastern Indonesia are all being cleared and lumbered and turned into cattle ranchs. This is a tragedy obviously. We understand and can perceive the dynamics of that. But how to make sense of a situation where, as the World Bank & the IMF attempt to halt this kind of destruction, on the other side of the coin the US State Department and the DEA and these agencies propose and are planning to carry out the defoliation of the Washaga Basin. So theres a schizophrenia here that is not academic. Are we trying to get the patient well or are we pulling the plugs, one by one? We seem to be acting in both directions simultaneously. I think its because we have not in this culture awakened to the depth of the crisis that surrounds us.

There is a lot of self congratulatory backslapping going around these days over the fact that communists everywhere are in hot water and have to admit that they did it wrong, and this gives a lot of satisfaction to people who feel that that means we did it right. We didn't do it right. They did it wrong and now admit they did it wrong. We do it wrong and have yet to even raise the possibility of turning away from what we are doing.

The internal contradictions of Marxism were based on a false definition of what people are. People do not respond to central planning, hortatory propaganda and stereotyping. Neither do people respond to an ethos of self denial, or a view of human beings that denies we have certain itches which must be scratched. So I think that the collapse of Marxism is only the collapse of the outer edge of the societal and civilizing assumptions that we have made. After all Marxism is nothing more than the millenarian retread of Christian millenarianism. So is modern science, yet another secular retread of Christian millenarian.

So our culture is in trouble. Not trouble, we are at a terminal crisis, a bifurcation that can only go one of 2 ways: horror beyond your wildest imagination, or breakthrough to dignity, decency, community and caring beyond your wildest imagination. Now, where do you look for models? Where do you go? The answer is so obvious. You go to Nature. Nature has been playing this game for 3 billion years - on this planet. We have been playing the game, we the apostles of Christian scientism for about 2000 years. Nature has an economy, an elegance, a style that if we could but emulate it, we could rise out of the rubbly that we are making of the planet. The geographer Karl Sauer said, "Man found the planet a climaxed primeval forest. He (notice the gender here) will leave the planet a weedy lot.". This is a metaphor where you change climaxed rain forest for weeds but its also true. By clearing land we promote the kind of plant evolution that stresses very rapid seed production and annular cycles of growth. In other words, weeds.

This tendency to find perfection and then to leave rubble in our wake has haunted us for the past 3 or 4000 years of our history. Now with the ozone shield disappearing, with acid rain falling on the earth that can melt blocks of marble, with the CO2 levels rising, with the levels of Strontium, the chloroflourocarbons, and, you know the litany, we have now one last chance to fish or cut bait. The pace where Nature has provided the models for how to respond to this situation is the climaxed rain forest. Only the climaxed tropical rain forest has the kind of complexity of signal transfer, of movement of nutritional materials, movement of electromagnetic radiation, that we find in the modern city.

It is a cliche of modernity that the city is a jungle. The problem is, it isn't jungle enough. I think its the task of the new shamans to take the metaphor of the jungle, which is a metaphor of tremendous wealth, tremendous variety, tremendous outpouring of form, and of energy, and of potential fulfillment of various bifurcation patterns of flow, to take that and enrich our own lives with it. The way this is done is by empowering the presence of experience. The mian thing that you get with these so called primitive preliterate people is: they are in the moment. They know how to have fun, they know how to work, they know how to live. The reason they understand this is because they are focused within the confines of the felt presence of experience. They do not live by abstraction. Abstraction is the knife poised at our hearts. We are so much the victims of abstraction that with the Earth in flames, we can barely rouse ourselves to wander across the room and look at the thermostat. thats the level of disempassioning that abstraction has laid on us.

The best way to lower the temperature of the Earth would be to plant it and the deserts are the regions that would have the greatest effect, fastest. In addition we have an increasing need for fresh water, so this will have more social impact than Tang.
There are deserts on every continent (Antarctica is a desert). There are prehistoric manmade pyramids on every continent, and no one knows why. This would be a great pyramid project.

I can understand why people like John Ashcroft, George Bush Sr and John McCain are concerned about the internet: it’s impossible to believe a word that comes out of their mouth when you can look up the facts yourself.  This is why children need to be taught early that computers are for video games, short videos of people getting injured, and pornography.

Experiments conducted by (GE corporate public opinion) researcher Herbert Krugman reveal that, when a person watches television, brain activity switches from the left to the right hemisphere. The left hemisphere is the seat of logical thought. Here, information is broken down into its component parts and critically analyzed. The right brain, however, treats incoming data uncritically, processing information in wholes, leading to emotional, rather than logical, responses. The shift from left to right brain activity also causes the release of endorphins, the body’s own natural opiates-thus, it is possible to become physically addicted to watching television, a hypothesis borne out by numerous studies which have shown that very few people are able to kick the television habit.

This numbing of the brain’s cognitive function is compounded by another shift which occurs in the brain when we watch television. Activity in the higher brain regions (such as the neocortex) is diminished, while activity in the lower brain regions (such as the limbic system) increases. The latter, commonly referred to as the reptile brain, is associated with more primitive mental functions, such as the “fight or flight” response. The reptile brain is unable to distinguish between reality and the simulated reality of television. To the reptile brain, if it looks real, it is real. Thus, though we know on a conscious level it is “only a film,” on a conscious level we do not-the heart beats faster, for instance, while we watch a suspenseful scene. Similarly, we know the commercial is trying to manipulate us, but on an unconscious level the commercial nonetheless succeeds in, say, making us feel inadequate until we buy whatever thing is being advertised-and the effect is all the more powerful because it is unconscious, operating on the deepest level of human response. The reptile brain makes it possible for us to survive as biological beings, but it also leaves us vulnerable to the manipulations of television programmers.

"Women are carefully trained by media to view themselves as inadequate. They are taught that other women—through the purchases of clothes, cosmetics, food, vocations, avocations, education, etc.—are more desirable and feminine than themselves. Her need to constantly reverify her sexual adequacy though the purchase of merchandise becomes an overwhelming preoccupation, profitable for the merchandisers, but potentially disastrous for the individual.

"North American society has a vested interest in reinforcing an individual's failure to achieve sexual maturity. By exploiting unconscious fears, forcing them to repress sexual taboos, the media guarantees blind repressed seeking for value substitutes through commercial products and consumption. Sexual repression, as reinforced by the media, is a most viable marketing technology.

"Repressed sexual fear, much like all types of repression, makes humans highly vulnerable to subliminal management and control technology. Through subliminal appeals and reinforcements of these fears, some consumers can be induced into buying almost anything." [MEDIA SEXPLOITATION, Key, 1976]

The same people stole Africans from Africa and made them slaves, now slavery is over, where are the reparations for the blacks like they did for the "so called" jews?Slavery was the blackman's holocaust that lasted a hell of alot longer than the jewish one. Now everybody wants to be "gay". They plaster it all over the tv. If this country believes in god and the bible like they say they do, they will refer to the story of Sodom and Gomora (society of gays that was destroyed by god). The bible/god says man and woman shall be fruitful and multiply. America is a modern day Sodom & Gomora. America is ran by a bunch of liars. The argument is sometimes made that because of past injury, racial or otherwise, even hundreds of years ago, privileges and special favors are fair compensation needed to make up for past injustices. The problem, is those who must pay are not themselves guilty parties, and making up for some earlier injustice merely discriminates against another group. This only exacerbates hostilities between groups and ends up working against the desired goal. Falsely and loudly accusing someone of racism or antisemitism if the person is not in agreement with reparations is the worst form of bigotry. Such hypocrisy has destroyed a lot of people's reputations and lives and does great harm to any effort to bring people together voluntarily.
If reparations are available its hardly a surprise that the line of eager recipients grows quickly. Even those who don't qualify under the rules get in line. Many times those demanding reparations were never personally injured. The result is that undeserving recipients demand financial benefits for something they did not suffer from people who had nothing to do with the injustice. It doesn't sound very fair to me.
Behavior quickly changes when government benefits are offered. The mere offer of financial giveaways to victims of hurricanes, for example, invites every manner of public corruption. It creates a moral hazard as well. Government financial programs also benefit financial and business interests the same way. Its not only the welfare poor who line up for benefits whether after a natural disaster or during a financial crisis. Government force illegally and illogically used to stop discrimination results in a multiplicity of consequences, altered behavior and fraud.

As to the Christian system of faith, it appears to me as a species of atheism; a sort of religious denial of God. It professes to believe in a man rather than in God. It is a compound made up chiefly of man-ism with but little deism, and is as near to atheism as twilight is to darkness. It introduces between man and his Maker an opaque body, which it calls a redeemer, as the moon introduces her opaque self between the earth and the sun, and it produces by this means a religious or an irreligious eclipse of light. It has put the whole orbit of reason into shade.
The effect of this obscurity has been that of turning everything upside down, and representing it in reverse; and among the revolutions it has thus magically produced, it has made a revolution in Theology.
That which is now called natural philosophy, embracing the whole circle of science, of which astronomy occupies the chief place, is the study of the works of God, and of the power and wisdom of God in his works, and is the true theology.
As to the theology that is now studied in its place, it is the study of human opinions and of human fancies concerning God. It is not the study of God himself in the works that he has made, but in the works or writings that man has made; and it is not among the least of the mischiefs that the Christian system has done to the world, that it has abandoned the original and beautiful system of theology, like a beautiful innocent, to distress and reproach, to make room for the hag of superstition.
from The Age Of Reason by Thomas Paine, a beautiful person. Unrepentant to the last, Paine was convicted of libel & sedition (fled) and his publisher was sentenced to 1 year hard labor for publishing it.

What does a rich man in a suit have to do to get some justice? There are plenty of witnesses & lots more victims than in Iraq. So why can't a rich man get the long consecutive sentences he has worked so hard and sacrificed all his scruples to achieve? Its just not fair. Fucking Affirmative Action is destroying this country. Herman Cain is a very polished speaker, but I did not find much substance in his defense of Mitt Romney's going all Gordon Gekko. I find his presentation lacking the experience I need my representatives to have: if my representatives are dumber than me, I am stuck with all the problems they are supposed to be handling, plus all their additional botch.
Some guy wanted to swim with the great white sharks. So he saved all his money and went to Australia and swam with the great white sharks. The sharks ate him. No shit, google it. I am afraid that this is the future of Mr. Cain, except he wants to do it on my dime, and use me for bait first. Mr. Cain is out of his depth.
I am sure if Mr. Cain googled what the mormon church, of which Mr Romney is an outstanding ranking officer, think of black people. If he did he would not support Romney; that he doesn't know this further disqualifies him from representing me in any capacity.

citations from "Worldwide Effects Of Nuclear War" by US Arms Control and Disarmament Agency 2004, with factoids from the National Academy of Science:

In the event of a massive nuclear "exchange"; as much as half the ozone layer will be destroyed, with holes in spots. Scientists estimate that the ozone layer will mostly recover in about 20 years.

Destruction of the ozone layer will lower the temperature ie. "nuclear winter", because in the absence of the ozone layer, solar energy isn't reflected back to Earth & escapes back into space. It doesn't take much. Global cooling by a 1 degree decrease in average annual temperature would end commercial wheat production in Canada.

The ozone layer can recover this quickly because it is very unstable, being generated continuously by solar energy. About 4000 tons of ozone are produced and destroyed each day in the upper atmosphere - above 7 miles.

The elements that interact with the ozone to break it down include cosmic radiation, lightning and nitric oxides from flora & agriculture processes. Nitric acid produced by bacteria in natural flora & agricultural processes is by far the major agent in the breakdown of ozone.

Recall these molecular weights:
H2O 18
N2 22
O2 32
CO2 44
CFC-113 187
With a molecular weight of 30, unlike CO2 & CFCs nitrous oxide is an excellent candidate to actually traverse the 7 miles up to the stratosphere against gravity. This really sucks too, because all the combustion engines that we won't give up until something better comes along to save our lives are an abundant source of nitric oxides, sulfur oxides & carbon oxides. This is a real potential mechanism for anthropogenic impact on the ozone layer.

But the NAS said that when the ozone layer is diminished the temperature will go down. Hmm.

Apparently aircraft and blowing up bombs are significant sources of nitrous and other oxides. Not just nuclear bombs, I'm sure carpet bombing is a real motherfucker on the ozone layer. Remember what Saddam Hussein did to the Kuwait oil fields? Chernobyl? It can take years for these chemicals to work their way through the ecosystem, as you may remember from the UV & sunsets after the Gulf War.

It stands to reason that business wants to increase their efficiency in order to save money. Industry has already done much to improve efficiency, they are down to doing things that cost money. So even though they account for more than 50% of the pollution, they drag their heels to do the right thing. Corrupt government profiteers only make this worse, because it gives business a legitimate justification to stall. Government has never shown any such restraint. Even their little wars release energy output in excess of anything short of rare geological catastrophes. Bad government is the unnatural disaster that is killing the planet.

Fuel injection provides vastly superior fuel efficient, as do the type of fuel burned and maybe even catalytic converters. This is why you can see the mountains. But over half the emissions is due to industry. Government + military probably account for 20% on top of their industrial activities. The reduction of open flame in agriculture due to fertilizers & pesticides substantially offsets population growth, making the agricultural impact not proportional to population.

So flogging civilians for only 30% of the problem is complete bullshit. If we are having any impact on the global climate, industry and war are by far the most ungreen offenses.

I enjoy your take on things. I'm not trying to diss you, I just want you to consider the extent and poor quality of the lies on which we are being led into slavery and whenever possible, shine a light on the bullshit. Public exposure and humiliation is the only way, and Bill, you're damn good.

Canada is not 'trying to undo socialized medicine'. The use of a trigger word like 'socialized' invalidates the purpose. Canada cares for the sick, the weak and the poor, as any humane and progressive country does. American corporations exploit disease, illness, pain and suffering of other human beings to make profit. That is sick and immoral by any valid argument. These corporations wish to destroy the Canadian system so that they can exploit them as they do Americans - but not many Canadians buy into this fascism there.

Ralph Nader on Obama 2012 candidacy & Republican decoy antics:
http://truthphalanx.com/2011/09/

"President Obama advances without contest to a unanimous nomination. There is no… meaningful debate on key progressive issues or past broken promises, just a seamless, self-contained operation on its way to raising one billion dollars in campaign funds.
...Mr. Obama will face neither opposition nor debate. He will have no need to clarify or defend his own polices or address the promises, kept and unkept, of his 2008 campaign. The president will not have to explain to his supporters why he directly escalated the war in Afghanistan and broadened America’s covert war in Pakistan, why he chose to engage in a military intervention in Libya, or why he has maintained the Bush Administration’s national security apparatus that allows for the suspension and abuse of constitutionally protected civil liberties—dismissing Congress all the way.
...President Obama will never have to justify his decision to bail out Wall Street’s most profitable firms while failing to push for effective prosecution of the criminal behavior that triggered the recession, or his failure to push for real financial reform. He will not have to defend his decision to extend the Bush era tax cuts nor justify his acquiescence to Republican extortion during the debt ceiling negotiations. He will not have to answer questions on how his Administration completely failed to protect homeowner’s losing their homes to predatory banks, or even mention the word “poverty,” as he failed to do in his most recent State of the Union Address, even as more and more Americas sink into financial despair.
He will never be challenged to fulfill his pledge to actively pursue a Labor-supported card check, or his promise to increase the federal minimum wage or why he took single payer off the table after he said he believes in it. The American labor movement, facing an unprecedented onslaught by the Right will not have the opportunity to voice its concerns and rally around a supportive candidate.
The president will not be pressed to answer how he spent four years in office without addressing the ongoing destabilization of our climate or advocating a coherent and ecologically sound energy policy including defending his position on nuclear power and so called clean coal. Nor will he discuss regulatory agency deficiencies in enforcing corporate law and order in an era marked by a corporate crime wave having devastating economic consequences onworkers and taxpayers and their savings and pensions. There will be no opportunity for the Hispanic and other relevant communities to speak out on immigration reform even as the Republicans continue to use it as a weapon of political demagoguery."

One of the many problems Obama has made progress with is the out of control prison industry.

Despite crime rates decreasing since the early 90s, the percent of the US population behind bars has increased every single year since 1980, until Barack Obama got elected. Since 2008 the percent has decreased 2-3% each year. This is huge. Unfortunately the prison growth segment is people over 55, not profiteering hayseed christian sadists & war criminals.

27% of federal prisoners are foreigners. May I suggest to all visitors that they locate a decent lawyer before they visit? Memorize the lawyer's phone number: its not uncommon to be stripped of all your possessions before seeing a judge, but there is a good chance you'll have access to a pay phone during this 'intake' period.

Any American who is not a lawyer or does not know a criminal lawyer, a tax lawyer and a business lawyer is a sheep. Ask the people in jail how many of them had a lawyer before they went in. The people with lawyers walked. Lawyers and money. Squeal like a pig, Bill.

The Wheel said...

The issue is that its not the 33%, its the 1%.

On a bell curve normal distribution of a population, 50% is better than the average, 16% is above 1 std deviation and 2% is above 2 std deviations. So if the wealth were normally distributed, 2% would be stinking rich, 16% would be rich and 66% would be middle class.
Economist Vilfredo Pareto observed that the top 20% receive 80% of the total income, and the top 20% of this top 20% receive 80% of that. Pareto was a naturalist, he based his work on live data. According even to Pareto the top 1% should be 4%. The current wealth gap is so extreme that it describes 2 independent populations, call them what the IRS does, income tax & capital gains. The numbers of both the top 20% of the income taxers and capital gainers are 1/4 to 1/2 what they would be in a viable economic system.

So,
The wealthy have the right to not perform due diligence regarding the continuity of the civilization that affords them their privilege. Not only is this clearly not sustainable, its immensely damaging, and if not criminal, blatantly antisocial. They would do well to increase their ranks, and this is the easiest, most righteous course.

Until they start honestly reinvesting what has so generously been given to them, let them pick their own damn cotton. Automation requires skilled technicians.

One Law for All is calling for a rally in defence of free expression and the right to criticise religion on 11 February 2012 in central London from 2-4pm.

We are also calling for simultaneous events and acts in defence of free expression on 11 February in countries world-wide.

The call follows an increased number of attacks on free expression in the UK, including a 17 year old being forced to remove a Jesus and Mo cartoon or face expulsion from his Sixth Form College and demands by the UCL Union that the Atheist society remove a Jesus and Mo cartoon from its Facebook page. It also follows threats of violence, police being called, and the cancellation of a meeting at Queen Mary College where One Law for All spokesperson Anne Marie Waters was to deliver a speech on Sharia. Saying ‘Who gave these kuffar the right to speak?’, an Islamist website called for the disruption of the meeting. Two days later at the same college, though, the Islamic Society held a meeting on traditional Islam with a speaker who has called for the death of apostates, those who mock Islam, and secularist Muslims.

Whilst none of this is new, recent events reveal an increased confidence of Islamists to censor free expression publicly, particularly given the support received from universities and other bodies in the name of false tolerance, cultural sensitivity and respect.

The right to criticise religion, however, is a fundamental right that is crucial to many, including Muslims.

Clearly, the time has come to take a firm and uncompromising stand for free expression and against all forms of threats and censorship.

11 February is our chance to take that stand.

You need to be there, Bill. If you think this does not concern you, you don't get it.

Enough is enough.

I was happy to be getting out of the U.S. That book about me and my Kool Aid cronies had just come out and I felt the hot beams of the spotlight on me. It burned like a big ultraviolet eye. The voltage generated by all this attention scared me a little and titillated me alot, and I needed a breather from it before I became an addict, or a casualty.
Stand in this spotlight, feel this eye pass over you. You never forget it. You are suddenly changed, lifted, singled out, elevated and alone, above any of your old bush-league frets of stage fright, of nagging scruples, etc. Self-consciousness and irresolution melt in this beam's blast. Grace and power surge in to take their place. Banging speed is the only thing even close. Drowsing protoplasm snaps instantly to Bruce Lee perfection - enter the dragon. But there's the scaly rub, right? Because if you go around to the other end of that eye and look through at the star shining there so elevated, you see that this adoring telescope has a cross hair built in it, and notches on the barrel filed for the luminaries: Kennedy… King… Joplin… Hemmingway…

SOPA & PIPA the government, military and private property issues need to be addressed separately, not mashed together to sneak criminal dirty tricks through. This is government information monopoly legislation.

In light of the NDAA, the unambiguous sweeping military powers and dictatorial consequences provided in SOPA i the definitions and starting on page 62 are particularly awful.

Everyone knows the SEC did not protect us from the banksters and though the FBI saw it, they did not stop it either, but the banksters and the SEC and the FBI all got paid very handsomely by us, including obscene bonuses. There is no doubt that this legislation will be used to enrich their friends at the expense of everyone else; it is a political weapon against us. NDAA+SOPA provides for the CIA to appoint our leadership. This faux legal immunity will escalate the ongoing American Phoenix program.

Sorry Bill. I've lost a lot of money to IP thieves too. This insane military assault is not going to help me at all. I am positive that our trade laws already provide the authority to protect us; this is a massive, critical power grab.

The issue with SOPA is not its economic policy, its the social impact. SOPA proponents can prove that loss of intellectual property is proportionally as damaging to social progress as it is to economy development. SOPA opponents can prove that the lack of assurances protecting the rights of the people exposes the people to certain as in unavoidable loss of rights, and can easily show from the constant political direction of the last 10 years that SOPA is the obvious next wrung down the ladder to despotic tyranny.

These two arguments are not equal. What SOPA proponents really want is fair compensation and just recourse. The surveillance state being installed *right now* under the premise of protecting only their rights by sacrificing everyone else's is unacceptable; the property holders rights will also be confiscated, asap.

SOPA & PIPA are corporate power grabs, always chiseling away. Its an argument for the privileges of a state run monopoly be granted to private (as in secretly) held monopolies.

SOPA pales in comparison to the NDAA.

I appreciate your actual and perceived loss of monies due to online piracy. I think the caucasian looters are in this case as in finance, corporate. Take a look at the IP infringement lawsuits by and against giants like Microsoft and Google; there is some kind of rubber stamp IP lawsuit judge in east Texas. This corporate looting is what trickles down the hill on all of us in the form of increased charges for goods and services. What you are experiencing is tiny in comparison to these rulings. On top of which IP rights in the US are currently 'he who has the gold buys the ruling' if you are smaller than Microsoft, then its its the good ole boys.

A patent was just awarded to a foreign telco for IP that I published a decade ago. They infringed me in every way, right down to the diagrams in the description. The only difference is that they changed product names and added the word 'mobile' everywhere they could. I've got one of the best patent attorneys in the country; this could take 20 years to settle; I can't afford it. The machine is killing me.

You might want to talk to some IP lawyers about what is really going on.

Hollywood thinks Congress is on their leash: Motion Picture Association of America President Chris Dodd just threatened to cut off Hollywood campaign contributions to any member of Congress who doesn’t pass his Internet-censorship legislation.

After Congress shelved the controversial PIPA and SOPA bills, Dodd told Fox News:
“Those who count on quote ‘Hollywood’ for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who’s going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don’t ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don’t pay any attention to me when my job is at stake.”

Chris Dodd would make a great fascist.

Oh, please, don't kill us. Please, please don't kill

wasn't my fault.
No I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a
flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare.
My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old
friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my
car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood.
Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.

First you must ask why people steal, grasshopper. The poor steal because they are desperate; even the caucs. The rich steal because they are unbalanced, stupid, misled, deluded: insane. It can be demonstrated that poor stealing is directly proportional to rich stealing, and is caused by it.

Read this: Forbes: Why there are 4x as many psychopaths in management as there are in the population. Simple, isn't it?

Psycho Symptoms:
1 Egocentric/narcissism
2 No empathy
3 No conscience
4 Perfectly cool when you're making them money, then absolute disregard when you're not. Very cunning, manipulative, charming, lying, risk takers. They change jobs often to duck the blowback.

“I feel safer here (in prison) than outside. I have people to talk to, no decisions to make. I know I will die in prison. I lived the last 20 years of my life in fear. Now, I have no fear because I’m no longer in control.” -Bernie Madoff

Now you know why they are afraid of the dark… and everything else.

SOPA: Free speech for psychos, pathetic lies for everyone else.
